Vicjustice:

*Is there any reason that you are presenting a 3 months bank statement instead of the required 6 months statements?
*Of what relevance is your house rent and what purpose would the rent document serve?
*Flight reservation doesn't normally stay for more than 48 hours, so, how do you suppose your reservation to remain valid throughout the period of the visa application?
By the way, Flight Reservation or Ticket is not a requirement.

Thanks for your observations, to the best of my knowledge, tourist applicants for France were only required to present a 3 months statement according to their website as at December but i don't know of now.

i read on a Nairaland thread last year that including your tenancy agreement document is also a good way to show ties to Nigeria as long as the rent is a substantial amount and doesn't expire soon.

As at last year flight reservation was a requirement as well, guess i'm not current at all, thanks for enlightening me.....

VicJustice,
Kindly offer me an advice:-
Someone who read Mass Communication, graduated Year 2000 and worked as a Stock Broker for 13 {Investment Analyst and Public Relations Manager, got admission for PGD in a Canadian University but REFUSED Visa - what could be the problem.

Am married, had landed property and SOLID stocks. My sister was my co-sponsor while i was the main sponsor.

The visa officer was not satisfied that after so long time that you really wanted to resume your studies.
You would need to proove why the extra qualification would benefit you, (promotion or more money.)

I like to politely disagree with this claim in its totality, because, i know that there are people who went back to school after 50 years... Education is never too late nor is the time to go back to school prohibited because of delay.
Education is never discouraged no matter the age or the period.

I don't think you were refused a visa without being told the reason either by detailed explanation, or by codes, or by references to articles.

My bad, you are right, i actually mistook it for the UK visa.

folajoseph:

First of all, i doubt that a tenancy agreement can be officially recognised. This said, i don't see how a rented place of residence can represent a solid tie to Nigeria when even your own house is not a good enough tie.

Like i told you before, you can not reserve a flight ticket for more than 48 hours without paying for it, so, it is not possible to use such for visa application. I like to reiterate that it is not a requirement to present flight ticket, itinerary does not mean flight ticket, it mean travel plans documentation, so, i warn you to not make the mistake of purchasing a ticket, you will forfeit your money if your visa is refused: There are very rare scenario in which it may be considered necessary to provide flight ticket, and such may be if you are being sent abroad as a treat for an award or a reward etc

@vicjustice, i applied for a UK visa last year May,and was denied due to the fact that my friend's signature on the invitation letter looked fake according to them and my uncle that was my sponsor did not indicate how much he wanted to spend on the trip. My dad's business as at that was down but now he is good, can he sponsor me without them denying me? Thank you.

You can't apply for a visa with a passport that has less than 6 months to expiration.

I'm afraid, you have apparently been banned for 10 years for reason of the the alleged fraudulently signed document.
But why did you have to use a questionable invitation letter when it is not even a requirement in the first place?

@ vicjustice, thank you for your prompt response. How do i know that i have been banned?
They have a policy of withholding the information, but i did explain this in my opening article, here is this section that explains it:

"I decided to add this (my earlier) post since it continues to happen that many people still find themselves in this unfortunate situation, and I thought i should lay emphasis to save people's money.
This informational advice is for country-men and women who continue to bin their thousands of Naira attempting to obtain the UK or the US visas while being unaware that they are under a ban for ten years or for life respectively.
Have you ever been refused a UK visa on the basis of fraudulent, fake, or misleading documents or even serious sensitive misinformation? If so, then apply for a UK visa no more, keep your application fees and try for other countries.
If you committed this act before the 10 years ban came into effect, as long as your finger-prints were taken, you would get the ban on your next visa application: only those who committed it before finger-print era are free from this merciless punishment
It is unfortunate that, except you take measures, you might not be able to find out whether you carry the ten years ban based on fraudulent or misleading documents presentation or, false declaration; this is the unfair method that the UK embassy uses to punish individuals who had attempted to use fake or misleading documents to obtain their visa: they allow them to re-apply unaware of the ban while they extract the visa application fee from the unsuspecting applicants.
If you are unsure of your ban/no-ban status, you are entitled to the rights of knowing your eligibility for the UK visa after refusal and the staff are obliged to let you know it. But however, if you wish to make subsequent application, you can inquire before making your payment: ask them to inform you of your status before paying the visa fee, it is their duty to notify you of it if you ask them even during fresh application.
These said, another way (perhaps the most effective way) that you can find out is your own intuition, you should know whether you were detected presenting any fake, fraudulent or misleading documents or serious sensitive misinformation to support your previous application. And if you were, then, there is no two ways about it, you've just been banned (unaware) for ten good years. Period.

The sad truth is: you did not receive the ban from making subsequent applications, but rather you received the ban from obtaining a UK visa of any category. So, it is up to you to apply a hundred or a thousand times while under a ban, but you will never be given a visa except after the ten years ban expires.
There was this case of a Nigerian visa applicant who was refused a visa for reason of forged documents that he presented in his previous application; after some time, he eventually came clean in his new application, but still he was refused a visa on the basis of the "fraud documents" that he submitted in his previous application. Yet, the cruel visa officer did not advise the mugu applicant that he was under a ban, but the country-man who obviously found no reason for his recent refusal was wise enough to ask about his chance of getting the visa in future application, and then the visa officer was obliged to let him know that he had been under a ban even before his recently denied application was made.
Now, had this countryman known that he was under a ban, he wouldn't have spent his hard-earned money all through that stress and trouble to apply for a visa that will never be issued him?

Yes, they did.
They gave me the following reasons-

1. Travel history
2. Length of proposed stay in Canada
3. Purpose of Visit
4. My current employment situation
5. My personal assets and financial status
However, information covering these areas were provided.

I don't think you were refused a visa without being told the reason either by detailed explanation, or by codes, or by references to articles.[/quote]

Hello,
I am currently filling out my DS 160 form for a B1/B2 US visa. My surname has a hyphen in between two names e.g SOME-BODY but I realised that the page doesn't accept hyphens between names. I had to write it as SOME BODY with a space and without the hyphen. Is this going to pose a problem during my interview? Because my intl passport and newspaper change of name has the hyphen. Please advise. Don't want any issues since it isnt my fault that the system doesn't accept it.

By your own word, you have read a lot of my advise on this forum... Well that is because my "advice" to others are made public so that everyone (including you can benefit from them): so, why do you now want to receive "advice" in secret where no other person can benefit from it?

It is fine, there should be no problem with that, they know it is like that and therefore they understand. You are not the first person to have had this issue

Re: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by worry359(m): 9:12pm On Jan 26, 2015
paragraph 320 (7A) carries a ten year ban.
So he needs to contact the UKBA and find out if he does have a ban.
If there is a ban it will make everything much more difficult.

Check this first
Re: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by Vicjustice: 10:48pm On Jan 27, 2015
Shiram:
Dear Vicjustice et al, a case goes like this:

1. An husband is married to UK citizen obtained the former 2-years spouse resident permit in 2010 before the new UKBA minimum income threshold of 18,600 GBP.

2. He came back to Nigeria to work around 2011.

3. He was in Nigeria and the new rule of no 3rd party support and minimum income threshold of 18,600 GBP came into force.

4. For the fact that it is not allowed to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain from outside the UK and he couldn't leave his work, his spouse's visa expired in 2012 after the new rule.

5. The only option available for spouse visa progression is the settlement route and which he applied.

6. The wife successively delivered babies and was on maternity for over 2 years without working. Therefore the new rule's minimum income threshold of 18,600 GBP was not met.

7. The applicant relied on the old rule as that was in operation when the spouse visa was given to him. He was able to supply his own proof of earning here in Nigeria which was over 20,000 GBP and a third party support evidence over 20, 000 GBP.

PROBLEM PART A
His settlement application was refused on one part due the 2012 new rule's minimum income threshold of 18,600 GBP that was not met

PROBLEM PART B
Either by act of omission or commission the ECO wrote him a letter that a dodge old stamp was seen on his passport and that UKBA would conduct inquiry and later send the passport to Nigerian immigration. On speaking to the guy he alleged that a friend of his made away with his passport sometime and that he later got it back. Now he has no idea what would happen to him if he approaches the Nigerian immigration based on the stamp issue.

In one of the correspondence he had with the UKBA here in Lagos (as they held his passport for a long time) he was told by Entry Clearance Manager as follows:

"If you decide to reapply, an attempt should be made to address the concerns outlined in the refusal notice. I cannot however guarantee the outcome of any future application. You should be aware that as your application was refused under paragraph 320 (7A), any further applications may fall to be refused under paragraph 320(7B) of the Immigration Rules, (subject to the requirements set out in paragraph 320 (7C)."

It is tempting to be positive since the Entry Clearance Manager wrote relating to Paragraph 320(7C) which sets out exceptions to paragraph 320(7B). I think if the exceptions apply, paragraph 320(7B) does not apply – i.e. the person or application is not subject to the re-entry bans. Among the exceptions I a think is: many applications for permission to come to the UK to join family members are not subject
to the re-entry bans.

The dilemma is, is there any way or chances of making a successful UK spouse settlement for this guy? And what can he do about Nigeria Immigration. Please advice. Thanks
Paragraph 320-A deals with issues of deception or deliberate omission and fraud, and these carry a mandatory 10 years ban.
It would have been a little better if the ban was implemented before the marriage to a UK citizen, but as it happened during the attempt to join a spouse who is a UK citizen, the rights are affected

I suspect a UK 10 years ban can be waived under special considerations...
I have a sister that wanted to visit the UK, left for me alone she had all it takes to get a UK visa, but the oversabi ye she be she applied through an agent... The agent forge just too many documents shocked maybe if they give the agent chance he would have changed her name.. All I expected was a rejection and possibly 10 years ban, but I couldn't be bothered. Eventually she got the rejection ....
About 6 months later she was supposed to go for another sisters convocation in the UK and needed to apply, so I had to come in to the application scene, this time she came out pretty clean, she got an invitation letter from the school, got a cover letter from her sister to the embassy telling them how desperately she needs her sister in the UK and how a rejection would ruin her day, she added her bank statement and made them know she is a housewife (although the previous application said she was a salary earner) and added her husbands bank statement, and other relevant information...
I strongly suspected she had a ban but she was still issued a visa, again the place of issue of the visa was somewhere in the UK...
Maybe hers is a rare case.

There is no way you will be staying in Arlington (Dallas Metro Area) and be using a hospital in Houston. It's too far. That's an immediate red flag for you as it is impracticable.

I suggest you book a hotel or long stay apartment in Houston.

If you satisfy every condition, then, there should be no normal ground for visa refusal.
