No sir it wasn't. The students were punished for making noise while the I.T. report defence of thier final year seniors was ongoing. I was there personally and took the pictures too.

All diz small children of nowadays dat dont even know der rights anymore, even as adults. A lecturer will tell u 2 kneel down in class for talking ? In a university? Dats very wrong. Guess dat university dished out a lotta immature kids n cowards

Only poor or average students will be scared of what the lecturer would do to their grades if they disobey the order.Chances are he would still mark your face and fail you.

Would you guys maintain the same position if/when asked to go on your knees by an uneducated recruit soldier for another individual's offence in NYSC camp?

There is nothing wrong with the student kneeling down. Its all about discipline.

If they were both asked to kneel down you have to wonder why the other guy is squatting. I don't think squatting and kneeling are the same. In any case, a university is an institution of higher learning. It is quite unbecoming for a lecturer to ask university students to kneel down. He could have simply sent them out. The students should not have accepted to serve the punishment. They aren't secondary school pupils.
