privatetisa:
Change is the most common feature in the entire uuniverse. Continuity is a very temporary phenomenon in the universe. We have continued long enough with the PDP. It's high time we had the long overdue change in Nigeria.
This is another opportunity that we shouldn't miss in this country again. We had missed many good opportunities of having or retaining good leaders in the past. These were people that would have turned the lot of this country around for good - especially for we the masses. We shouldn't forget how the few elites who wanted (and still want) to keep the masses of Nigeria perpetually poor, disillusioned and subjected to them denied us of Murtala, Awolowo, Buhari/Idiagbon, Abiola, Fawehinmi and many other masses-oriented leaders in the past.
The masses of Nigeria, let's not be deceived again. God won't come down to better this country for us. It is the 'good' people he had constantly brought our way that he intends to use to better our lot. All the prayers you have been praying in your churches, mosques, shrines, synagogues, etc, have always been answered with the good leaders he has never failed to bring your way. But a section of the country is bent on stopping the process of bettering our lot in this part of the world. Wake up my people. Nigerian masses, wise up. Stop being deceived. Stop being lured into deeper and deeper suffering and abject poverty. Your God will only provide the way for you. He won't carry your legs to walk the path. Because you are a being with consciousness and freewill.
The Israelites prayed for a deliverer. But when they had one in Moses, they rejected him saying he was a murderer, a stammerer, a vagabond, a runaway and the likes. But thank goodness for them, they never allowed the golden opportunity to pass them by.
Peter rejected Cornelius saying he belonged to the unclean race. He did know that his God used whatever he liked.
I have always known that it's the same cabal that has been keeping us down that our God will use to liberate us. I have always believed that a day will come when their camp will be thrown into disarray and they will on their own install a leader that will liberate the masses of Nigeria - without them realising what they are doing until we have been set free. Your remember the Pharaoh and the Israelites?
WE NEED THIS CHANGE RIGHT AWAY. It's another golden opportunity that we shouldn't allow to pass us by again.
The whole world look onto us to effect this change. It's only that they can't openly show their interest in that regard. But their body language really suggests that. America has been avoiding Nigeria like an Ebola patient for about three years now. They stopped buying our fuel; yet, they are still buying from some African countries, for example, Angola. They refused to help with the Chibok girls. They are blocking us from purchasing weapons to fight the insurgency. And you don't believe that there is more to it? This same America is very much interested in our elections. What do you think the reason is? Think!
Everybody all over the world wants Nigeria to experience this change. Ordinarily, the west won't support a radical like Buhari to preside over a strategic nation like Nigeria. But the overriding need for this change surpasses their sentiment.
COME MARCH 28, LET'S ALL GO OUT AND PEACEFULLY VOTE FOR THE CHANGE THAT OUR COUNTRY NEEDS. VOTE FOR BUHARI. VOTE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR LOT.
Forget tribalism! Set aside religious sentiment! Embrace this onset of a sincere and certain ride to an all- inclusive, prosperous Nigeria.
Please rebroadcast to as many as you can and be a part of the movement to a better Nigeria for us all. Thanks a great deal as you join this historic train. - DeProf.
.n u think buhari will just come in n change NIGERIA? do u knw d concept of DEMOCRACY? That its abt rule of law, devolution of power n separation of power? that the president cant no matter h loyal, saint n patriotic or even filled with integrity can never MAKE LAWS, INTERPRETE LAWS AND PREOSECUTE OFFENDERS? and are aware niGERIA IS a federalist state, that the laws governing the nation may not be affected by the states, the state can make alternate laws that will not allow such laws binds its states? eg is the FOI BILL Not affectng APC states. are u aware buhari wont hv powers to prosecute any state governors no matter how corrupt they are not unless the constitution is ammended n that immunity clause on state governor is remove?
obj said he never condone corruption but instead of SACKING FEMI FANI KAYODE From aviation ministrry e was traNSFERRED to TOURISM.
the only think that can make nigerian leaders SITUP is if that coNSTITUTION is re-ammended BUT WE CAN seeour representatives and senators aint ready to do it cos they are all benefittng from all the shady deals n sham electoral processes.

My point was it had the potential of having a negative impact on the country in the short term using my situation as an example. It'll benefit us however in the long term if the election is finally conducted without a lot of controversy surrounding it. That's all!

It will also take a big toll on the purse of campaign financiers including him. Imagine when they ( especially APC ) thought that the spending was over. I hope they don't disappoint the thugs and the rented campaign mob by calling off their campaigns.

That's exactly my point. You are crying about the economy at the expense of the lives we could save by putting security measures in place. You can't run away from it. While crying economy economy, you refuse to see and even after I put it on you, that lives will be at risk if this is not done so stop beating about the bush. Life first whenever we can.

mrmetoo1:
So the topic of this thread is that the postponement will affect the economy, all I did was share how it affects my "economy". I was using my example to show how its going to affect the economy as a whole because I can imagine that there are countless other folks in a similar situation including you. Nowhere did I mention risking the lives of the officials. Again going with the topic, does it have the potential to have a negative impact on the economy? answer is YES, regardless of whether the postponement was done with good or bad intentions.

Kai!! Just because you don't like the fact I'm saying it'll affect the economy negatively doesn't mean I disagree with you. Please read what I wrote there again and see if I disagreed with you anywhere. The simple fact is, it has the potential of having a negative effect, like it or not. Nowhere have I written that they did bad or good by postponing. Look people don't just make plans in one day, a lot of these things we're talking about have been in motion for months and you have put your mind and resources to it that you'll come to a conclusion at a certain time. Forget election, if that date that you had planned for gets shifted for whatever reason it has the potential to have a negative effect on your business. I'm not going to disagree with the point being made by the OP just because a couple of people don't want to admit the there'll be some negative effect because of the postponement.

Now if I said the negative effect of the postponement because of the economy outweighs the positive then you have a right to come at me the way you did but at this point I haven't disagreed with you in any way.

Same fate as another oil-dependent giant, Russia:

Perhaps if we spent more time being creative and adding value instead of waiting for dash dash handouts or jobs for salary ONLY not for real work, we may reduce the impact of the fall in Niger Delta oil revenue, not so?

What did OBJ & Athief'kuu do to DIVERSIFY our economy all their eight years in power compared to what Jonathan/Sambo have done in five years huh
That is the question to be asked & comparion to be made by reasonable citizens, not so?

stop comparing Nigeria with Russia because the situation is different . Russia is currently experiencing sanctions from the US and European Union because of its war in Ukraine. Saudi Arabian currency is still stable and its about 1 dollars to 5 Riyal ( Saudi Arabian currency). Our economy is in a state of mess because PDP failed to diversify it for the past 16 yrs. The government keep deceiving Nigerians that we are the largest economy in Africa and one of the fastest economy in the world. Meanwhile most Nigerians youth are underemployed or unemployed and our currency is losing value. The facts speak for itselfs

And that is a country with very low population compared to its oil revenues and also has RELIGIOUS tourism aka hajj pilgrimage that mints fresh money for it twice a year grin

Countries like Angola and Algeria are not that lucky just as Nigeria.

You're funny! These investors I'm talking about are Nigerian investors. Almost everyone has an interest in either of the main parties some have people in both. The reason for the hold up is because everyone right now is distracted. The example of one of them that I gave is because the people he's dealing with are trying to squeeze out as much as possible because in the guise of campaign donation. I see it as blackmail, so what he's trying to do is just wait till after election to continue. This is not a deal he's trying to get, this is something he has already invested money in they're just trying to "blackmail" him to dole out more money so that he can get his money out on time. He has plenty of money so he can afford to wait I guess. So let's say the wait affects me more than him.

The talent show is small stuff, that was an example of how it could affect a start-up.

I CAN'T LAUGH ALONE! A plane was about to
crash
and there were only four parachutes in the plane.
Meanwhile there were five people in the plane. The
first person was Cristiano Ronaldo and he said:
I'm
the best footballer, I can't die now". So he took
one
parachute and left. The second who was Aliko
Dangote said: "I'm the richest man in Africa and
I'm
too young to die". So he took the second
parachute
and left. The third was MUHAMMADU BUHARI and
he
said: " I'm an APC flag bearer so I
can't die now, I need to win JONAH ". So he took
one and left. Then it was left with JONATHAN and
a

take
the last one, I'll sacrifice my life for you". The little
girl replied no need for that "there are two
parachutes left. JONATHAN asked her: "How
come?"
The little girl replied: Buhari took my

If for any reason Jonathan does not deserve a second/Third term should be the fact that he has killed the value of the Naira. How can someone who is performing tremendously as people say he does but its not forth showing in the economics of the country? That to me is not performance.

Hahahahahaha! I laughed at 'APC'.
They thought PDP are made of kidshuh?
Hmm remember since when they (PDP) are in power, and now you (APC) just think you can ruin them with just as a small trick!
You want election to held on the 14 of February when its only the Northern States that has the highest number of people that has collected their 'PVC'....
APC and Jega tweak has failed then...
I know with this pressure you mount on PDP this time around if you guys (APC) continue with it you may capture PDP at hand in future to come, (BUT NOT NOW BECAUSE THE SEE MORE THAN YOU)

Are you by any means trying to argue that an almost N20 drop in value of the Naira to the pound sterling in just a few days is an insignificant drop that affects no one negatively?... Is that what you are trying to prove?

Is this you trying to play politics with black and white figures or is this just you trying hard to sound dumb?

The thoughtless postponement of the elections on Saturday is beginning to have a damaging effect on investor confidence with a devastating effect on our economy and the value of the Naira.

Just last Friday, it was N285 to £1. Yesterday it was N304 to £1. Today it has leaped to N312 to £1. shocked shocked shocked

The Naira is taking a unprecedented free fall and at this rate, it might just get to N300 per $1 and N400 per £1.

So much for economic growth... God Help Us!!!!!
