That map is in-correct. No part of Adamawa and Gombe are controlled by insurgents.

In yobe, only 2 local government's have a prevalent terrorist problem.

In Borno, damboa, chibok, Marte, monguno are all cleared contrary to what that map tries to claim.

This could be a brilliant idea- If DOD patnered with a private company and decided to sell a monthly(or six monthly) comic magazine , telling stories(semi factual, semi fictional) of their achievements in the war (wins and loses)- Creating a patriotic nation in the process

Second anybody claiming the Nigerian Army has only 12 T-72 Tanks needs to get his brain checked up.


Nigeria signed a contract with the Czech Defence contractor for 50+ T-72 Tanks and 15 other types of military equipment( IFV's, AFV's, Grad systems et al).

16 of those Tanks signed with Excalibur group comes from Hungarian surplus stock. T-72A tanks, while the rest would come from Czech republic stock (T-72CZM1).

We currently operate : T-72B
: T-72A
: T-72CZM1
: T-72 AV

My estimate is Nigeria currently has between 70- 85 T-72 Tanks used in Anti-Terror Operations.

Those 16 T-72's are the only ones Air Freighted and not the total number of T-72's in N.A servicem

but y wont our army buy this tank destroyer ? it can take out bh technicals from one kilometer away and im sure its dammn cheap And doesnt come with strings attached to it

Dont think that is Nigeria. The tank in the background doesnt look like anything we have in our armory. Also the skycrane is american whereas all the equipment we are receiving now are from the russians and east europeans.

We do not have, and would not be getting any S-64 Skycrane, now or in the future.

The only thing confirmed is, we are getting 10 MI-171sh from Russia this year, 4 MI-17 from ukraine, deliveries must have been concluded, and all our MI-17's in Sudan and liberia have been re-called.

Chief Henry120, do you know if we will be withdrawing our peace keeping troops any time Soon? The NSA did suggest we may be forced into doing that. I really think we should do that right away, we cannot be safeguarding others while our house is on fire. Afterall, we only get insults after such sacrifices

Yes, we would most likely withdraw our forces from UN deployments.
