will i be able to apply from here(Cyprus)?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by a4larin: 9:44pm On Feb 13, 2015
If you are 22, can I ask what you are applying for: Graduate or undergraduate studies please? I may be able to give an advise if clarified.

standupguy:

From my little experience, here is my 2 cent.
Depending on your age, either you say you work for your dad in your SOP, without putting employment letter or you tell him to start paying you into your account so you can include your own statement and employment letter when the time comes.
Once you mention anything in your application, you must provide proof to back it up.

I work in my sisters company, i mention in my first application, that I worked with my sister's company I was refused because of insufficient funds well I didn't provide all my sponsors bank statement, second application I now included an employment letter from the company, now they want to see my assests and financial.

Hi peeps. I finally got admission to seneca College to study global logistics and supply chain management. My issue now is that my sponsor is resides in America. (an American citizen). I don't know if there are special docs he needs to provide since he resides abroad. Anybody that has passed through similar situation, please advise.

Hey Guys,

I've had my BBA in Business Administration outside Nigeria (2009) and also my MBA in Business Management (2012). I keen to pursue and widen my knowledge in I.T. I am presently in Nigeria working part time and also about to complete my Nysc program. Please what is the necessary docs I should attached when I want to apply for it online or maybe at the VFS. Which one is best advisable? I'm 30yrs old. Thanks in anticipation for your help guys. Love u all and God bless

NBBC don't allow international students to apply for core medical programs.
Visit this link for the programs available for int.students: http://www.nbcc.ca/en/home/programs_and_courses/programsearch/default.aspx
Moreover your questions ought to be directed to the sch via email.

This type of attitude irritates me and I believe this is one of the reasons why Nigeria is not progressing. Please permit me to take this personal and go into hibernation after I finish ranting. Yes, this is a rant!

I worked in the Software Industry for quite a while in Nigeria and I met very brilliant and smart guys but the industry is going nowhere in Nigeria because our software developers lack something - COLLABORATION. I see dudes here churn our some wonderful apps and solve problems. I have met some of them and they are not half as smart as the average Nigerian but they are more productive. Why? 'Cos they put heads together and augment their strengths.

Now bringing it home, someone was asking for an SOP to use as a guideline and you arrogantly dismiss the person. I honestly believe that a lot of people here fail in their application because they do not have ideas of how to package their applications and sell themselves to the VOs. I am a strong believer in the open-source stuff and sharing of knowledge. I mean, just imagine if people here could gain access to dozens of SOPs, they can pick ideas from a couple of them and form their own style. This new style would add more to the already existing dozen SOPs. See, these Indians, Bangladeshis, heck, even Iranians do not have a proper command of english and they chop TRV more than Naija. I stumbled on one of their forums and that was where I got most of my ideas from. Imagine! Iran has had strained ties with America for decades and don't even have a Canadian embassy or consulate or whatever in their country and still they are the 4th largest population in my school. Most of them said they went to Turkey to apply for TRV. How come these countries get approval despite terrorists ties or little or no diplomatic ties with Canada? They use templates. They collaborate. They share!

Please guys, let's learn to share and collaborate more especially when it would add more to knowledge. I am not by any means saying you should share your SOP before you get your TRV (that is plain stupidity). But after you don chop the Visa, you can remove personal info from your SOP and share it. Or at least share the RESOURCES that you used to construct your own SOP if you are uncomfortable sharing your own.

</rant>
You'll live long.. Amen. the most annoying thing is that some folks who use the term "spoon feed" don't know it all. they ask questions, if not SOP, at least something else that is being answered. we all have to be civilized, if you think a question is stupid, kindly ignore and scroll down.. God bless Nigeria

If its graduate studies at 22, you may not have problems especially if you just finished NYSC less than a year ago. I didn't include any working status in my application eventhough I am well over 22 but completes NYSC less than a year. My friend also did the same and got his visa. So, everywhere you have "present job" in the forms, you may just write N/A. I personally like not to lie, but would write my real status in an intelligent way.

It wont be frowned at moreso considering your age and if your NYSC is recent. That worked for me and might also work for you.

true say bro, I think I once had a nastuy fight with someone on this forum for saying the same thing when I asked for a SOP, though it was later resolved, but it shows plain arrogance to me. Even if you don't feel like sharing, remove your personal info from the SOP, cos at the end of the day, the person may even get a VISA ahead of you or even spot some errors in the one you sent. I believe that where there is unity, cooperation and free flow of information, there and then knowledge will sky rocket. But we black people have this ret@rded mentality that draws us back and will forever be so unless we change our ways. Moreover the VO reads dozens of apps erryday, don't tell me he/she won't stumble upon similar SOPs. But all in all, let us be our brother's keepers. Cos you no go collect my own TRV with you own and neither will I collect your own with mine. God bless the likes of @Touchelli. Stay safe guys #BackToMyHibernationMode

i just finished reading this chapter from pg 1 to pg 171 , it took me 3 days to finish reading it and it was worth it i've learnt alot from this thread
i also notice the earlier one starts the application the better. i plan on doing a M.eng in canada and i belive getting admission is not going to be difficult for me since i have a cgpa of 4.02 bsc elect/elect
which qualifies me for so many universities ive checked online.

my only fear is getting study visa or trv , i passed all requirements i see here such as sponsors soa of not less than 6 million and the rest .**(NOTE sponsor is my father and and works for NNPC )** the only limitation i fear is that of home ties, i have no wife and no job, although im just 21 years old and
i'm currently doing nysc which would be completed by october. My programs of interest starts around November 2015 and the other january/march 2016 of which by then i would have completed service.
pls do i need this home tie requirement of a thing or would the VO jst overlook it considering the fact that am jst 21 years and i'm currently serving *which would be completed before my program starts*.

i guess you have no problem as you are a fresh graduate. Got this reply from MAPLE when i had the same fear.
but ill ask you to get the admission first as you may meet the requirement but still not get admission. ( im a living witness). 4.02 is strong but you have to write a good statement of interest too with an attractive research area so try your luck and i wish you success.
