chychyobbi:
Presidency has faulted recent statements made by former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, about incumbent President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

Obasanjo, during an interview with Channels Television, had alleged that the postponement of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was part of the grand plans by President Goodluck Jonathan to win the election by all means.

The former President made the statement on Saturday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, while speaking on the state of the nation and giving his opinion on the election postponement.

Obasanjo accused the President of forcing the postponement of the elections on INEC.

However, a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, on Saturday, made the Government’s position known on the issues raised by Obasanjo.

Abati said: "The President also continues to trust in the good Judgment of Nigerians and to believe that in appreciation of his sincere efforts to move the country forward over the past four years, they will re-elect him for a second term on March 28, 2015 with a mandate to pursue his agenda for national transformation to a successful conclusion.”

See People Deceiving People ...over the past 4 years or 6 years? Who was sworn-in after Ya'Adua's death? Even if you're completing Ya'Adua's tenor that doesn't mean you have not been in power since then, after all GEJ was sworn-in does Abati thinks that the period is now a vacuum in the time-line of the presidency?

If Chief Shonekan is considered a former "President" then you can see that no vacuums exist in that office even if its for a day you occupied it.

Technically, GEJ shouldn't be seeking re-election now. This a man that says 1 term of 6 years is enough but he wants more now having not done any credible things for 6 years!

I begin to wonder why comments from Obasanjo creates so much confusion within the president's camp. Are they scared that he is aware of some of their plans and revealing it to the world. The presence of Obasanjo is a blessing. He should continue to act as a check and balance for the president. Funny enough, they are members of the same party. Something is terribly wrong in aso rock

I admired the Obasanjo Administration for the giant strides taken to reposition Nigeria in his time. I however would like to ask:

1) Did Jonathan preside over the NIPP fraud that failed to deliver 100 Kilowatts of electricity after 16 Billion Dollars?
2) Did Jonathan supervise the murders of Marshall Harry and Bola Ige?
3) Did. Jonathan endorse the lock up of AD Governors who were in Ekiti for a meeting by the then government of Ayo Fayose?
4) Did Jonathan pursue the sharing of N50 Million per senator for term extension?
5) Did Jonathan instigate the neglect of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and. Benin-Ore Road in their killer conditions?
6) Did Jonathan bring down Odi in wanton disregard for the sanctity of human lives?
7) Did Jonathan embark on frivolous threats of political enemies with the EFCC?
cool Did Jonathan oversee the massive rigging of polls during the 2003 and 2007 elections?
9) Did Jonathan make himself Minister of petroleum?
10) Did Jonathan declare that elections were do-or-die?

Chief Obasanjo does not serve history well with his recent outbursts. GEJ may do better, comparatively speaking, after 8 years or Buhari after 4 years.
And did Goodluck support a Chris Uba(A political Godfather) to Abduct Ngige(a sitting governor)?

The sensible thing to do would have been to release the info at his disposal to close associates for dissemination to the public. By him doing this all the time, it portrays him as disgruntled and pained even though he has a right to feel pained judging by how Jona deceived him.

JonaTAN is unapologetically deceitful, unfaithful, desperate, callous, corrupt, manipulative and above all dangerously divisive. He is not a type of leader deserving of Nigeria.

In any case, Jona is a goner. That is to say, come March 28, Nigerians will affirm that they have had enough of GEJ's cluelessness and wickedness.

I think this is. very possible even probable.

Govt spokesman has inadvertently revealed the plan that America who runs our government, has for us.

Any body with ability to think clearly knows Thief Obasanjo can never support Buhari, who would expose his crimes when he was in power.

Thief Obasanjo is knows that Buhari would not be allowed to become president, hence why he is pretending to support Buhari and also because he knows Buhari 's popularity, appearing to side with would increase his chances of America choosing him to head an interim government.

He can also hoodwink us into believing he would be an arbitrator that would allow Buhari to be democratically elected. In reality his role would be to oversee the break up of Nigeria.

It is well.

you make no sense...to hell with america...the dark race has its own destiny to go...our destiny have nothing to do with the europeans...the europeans have their own destiny to go...we have to separate from the europeans or else all forwardness for the black race is dommed to fail.....

He should realize there is a difference btw run-of-the-mill substandard, tactless, rude and emotion laden articles characteristic of Nigerian Journalism and formal State House communication. Apparently Ruben Abati doesn't know that.

Some of us think Abati works too hard for his pay. He should consider a change of strategy and be more polite in his write ups. He doesn't need to over reach himself or proove he is the real attack lion and not Doyin Okupe.

You don't have to try hard to discredit GEJ's Govt. GEJ makes it easy with all the stup1d things his people does everyday and when you say Obasanjo is not a credible ex President, I laugh at your ignorance.

You heard your president claim he does not know about the election postponement that he was not consulted. grin grin grin Jeeezzz !

Words like OBJ want a puppet has expired. Look for another propaganda and it is easier when an intelligent person is sitting.

grin How come OBJ just recognised GEJ isnt intelligent? He was there after Yar'adua died and still supported him in 2011 right? What changed from 2011 till date? Since OBJ is so confident about GEJ loosing this election, he should be chilling in Otta, not globe trotting..looking for support and sympathy in the guise of a book launch. Imagine him feeling like one Juan Don of Nigerian politics. ."people were calling me to ask about the election postponement" gringringringrin who asked him?? When you talk about all the republics Nigeria witnessed.

Obj is still the most relevant of ex presidents.

I am surprised you just take pride in writing about Obj seeking relevance.

He was chilling in Ota when

1. GEJ went to postrate
2. the Governors GEJ sent went
3. Tinubu went
4. Atiku went
5. Buhari went
6. David Mark went
7. Tambuwal went

We saw others in Ota with press and video recordings.

When next time you write about Obj seeking relevance, go and ask all the 7 people listed above why they must go to Ota to canvass for Obj's support.

When rumour had it that he endorsed Buhari. Okupe and Abati went rab1d. They have to come up with a press release.

Obj's influence can not be comprehended by kids like you. Those who know , knows.

Yes..These people also visited IBB. That he prostrated isn't a big deal, atleast GEJ is one man known to respect people...besides, no be so Yoruba dey greet elders?? GEJ went because he was asked to by the party. OBJ feels he's important. .that he feels that way doesn't mean he is. He's entitled to feel important to himself. Same way Tinubu feels the entire SW supports him and that he's the most important Yoruba politician( people with over Inflated ego). GEJ hasn't hidden the fact that he needs support, and he's getting it...I'd rather be a smart underdog than have a stewpid popularity. Wait till after the elections to tell us how important OBJ is
