Someone said "there's no past tense in loving someone, it's either you always will or never did" how correct is this assertion?

Personally I don't think it's correct, love can grow cold and die, I remember my first love, the thought of him made me shed tears (crazy, I know), I was head over heels, I thought about him through out the day, looked forward to seeing him every day. Then after a few years, I realised the spark was gone, I couldn't even stand him at a point, he kept asking what went wrong, I had no answer, I was totally bored of the same person who ticked my fancy a year before. Today, we are neither friends nor enemies. He's just there. I can't say I still love him neither can I say I never did.

I need your thoughts.

Nothing last forever except God, I personally don't believe in true love cause it's like eating your favorite food everyday for a long time before long you will get sick and tired of it same thing applies but in a longer sense. I believe in love sure I've seen many girls and guys say they are in love only for a month to pass and they are saying they are tired and start looking for another love.

So no True/everlasting love is a myth IMO

Anyone that is capable of loving you is equally capable of hating you. Psychologically, romantic love last for only one year.

Understand you better half and you are good to GO

There is nothing like true love.

Love (not true) exist and never dies. But this applies only when what got you attracted to a person remains same way or even if it's to change it changes for the positive. If he/she was looking good, adores you and treats you right when you both first met and that made you love him/her, and still does so after many years then the love should still be strong like forever. But if a person changes for the worse from what they used to be, at some point the love could start diminishing gradually, until it gets to a point when you only feel complete hate towards such a person. Love is a continuous process, and one has to always be able to please their partner, if it is to last and if they want them to keep loving them forever

The question is actually redundant.

True love never dies.

There's no point asking if it's correct.

If it's true love, it won't die. If it dies, it was never true love.

Stop this confusion.

I believe true love exist and that it never dies. You can choose to walk away from a lover for different reasons but the love you have for the person will never die. I've learnt that life isn't fair. You just have to find a way to live without the person.

romantic love is love that depends on romance for its survival. Once the romance ceases, it becomes otiose.

Can't say for others, but for me, my true love for my first girl has died. Even if I see now, I can never fall for her.
