Arsenal are masters of sneaking into 4th position, we on the other hand are novice at this kinda game. To make matters worse the likes of southampton have managed to hover around 3-5th position with spurs somehow hitting form.

All in all the problem is with us, LVG can't seem to understand which player fits into which position. We have been characterized with playing badly and winning, shuffling players in diff positions that am sure the players themselves are confused, Injuries and a knack for passing sideways/backwards until we go behind with a goal.

Some players are just annoying, no one can be said to take the game by the croft to make things happen, as if we have no leader in the team.

LVG sef is a big part of the problem. Or do we still blame Moyes? When we end up not playing CL for 2 straight seasons.

Our defending was also very poor. The way we were being cut open at the back means no good organization at the back.

I also don`t know why LVG played Fellaini as our 10 when we have Herrera on the pitch. I believe that added to the disjointed attack. Fellaini will never give us penetrative forward passes.

Arsenal are specialists in failure. there ain't a thing glorious about Arsenal since 2004, and being experienced as a failure is not our aim - God forbid!

we are well within our aspirations for the season & its a gradual step to the greatness which has been our second nature; our strikers have been terrible all season long. its a shame that the area we thought would be the least of our troubles is becoming our Achilles!

First, we played well today. Some good football.

Second, Van Gaal should stop using our 'amature players'. We were deficient today with the inclusion of McNair, and then with sluggish Fellaini in the hole. Valencia for McNair at half time was a good substitution. Young for Shaw was a huge error. Shaw had his best game of the season, we should have pulled out Fellaini and gone with 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 with Young and Di Maria in the wings.

McNair lack of experience meant our central defenders were torn apart while Fellaini lack of mobility meant the midfield didn't have enough assistance. No one dropping deep. Fellaini offered nothing apart from his chest play.

Van Persie and Rooney didn't fight enough. No testing the goalkeeper with solid shots, although Rooney had a good build up play in and around the final theird. Rooney should take more risk with shots from distance. Swansea scored from over 20 yards, so we must not always pass into the box. Van Persie was not accurate in his shootings.

Swansea got their goals from virtually nothing. We didn't make our good game count. With this loss to 'common' Swansea at this time of the season, I am not confident of top 4 finish anymore. We have not played our most difficult matches yet.

We are playing too safe, this is not the United way. We are not pressing hard from the blast of the whistle. We are taking it easy and picking our passes softly. People like Fellaini in the final third makes life easy for our opposition. Those days, Nani, Valencia, Young, Giggs, would be making risky runs, not this po po passings we play around even when time is ticking. We help tick our time away.

Possession football worked in the 90s when he used it with Ajax. Barca gave it a more potent dimension with what it has evolved to now.

Looks like LVG wan use 90s style possession football in 2015 and these players just can't get to understand wetin dey happen.

Don't understand how players would be comfy having the ball without any penetrative pass because everyone is showing up for the ball in other to maintain possession instead of running forward into space for the person in possession to thread a thru pass. Side and back passess seem to be the other of the day, no urgent attempt to dominate a team because seems because of possession other players now lack the courage to forge forward or run into space in an attempt to score.

When have we played a game and imposed our play on the other team thereby dominating from start to finish even if we lose a game it would still be acceptable because we would have a psychological edge over teams of our dominating style.

that's why he's refusing to build around the likes of Herrera and Rafael. i don't think he enjoys players who like to commit in opposing half or do that extra bit in attack when they are not really forwards.

in my opinion tho, it is bullshit. robots are never entertaining to watch. when Valencia is on the attack, you just know what will happen next automatically; just two options for him, same with Rooney in midfield or van Persie in midfield - it makes it easier for opposition defenders. compare it to the dynamism of a Nani or Young lately or Herrera in the early part of the season.

i think specific instructions are dished about risk taking to the few dynamic players we have, except for maybe di Maria; it has made the whole football pedestrian at best.
