Truckpusher: Thank you! But I don't indulge in insults. I am beyond it. I understand this is a faceless forum so anybody have the liberty to do whatever he or she feels. I am sure if it were to be face to face, you'll have a rethink because I know you have not sold your respect for elders. Pls lets discuss issues. |

GEJ' s understanding transcends those narrow restrictions imposed by some religions which try to define how their adherents respond to even greeting from followers of the other religions. While we waste our time arguing over religious differences, the president looks beyond that into the underlying oneness that hold all of us together as members of one human family. Such simpleness must have bewildered those Arab Sheiks in flowing garbs. |

Abiagirl777:wetin concern northerners inside this one again?dele momodu na northerner?this wouldn't have been an issue had it been pdp didn't libel such allegation on the apc candidate. Actually Gej was only performing his duties by attending such functions,I think we're better off being a member of the organisation since we can have access to interest free loans. I'm sure there are countries with fewer muslim population than Nigeria and they're members of the OIC. They knew what they stand to benefit for being members. |

hush15: GMB had absolutely no limitatiions because he was a military leader. d most vibrant nigerian foreign policy regime was under a military govt - Murtala Mohammed govt. GMB's govt which was a corrective military govt had far more respect internationally than dis utterly discredited & corrupt govt will ever hav. Since Nigeria was dragged into d OIC, it has always been a very sensitive matter. One of d things u look for in a president is his judgement. My greatest quarrel wit GEJ has to do wit his judgement, especially on sensitive national issues which in my opinion leaves much to be desired. He seems to lack d needed wisdom, tact, prudent & sound faculty to lead a country as intricate & complex as nigeria. OBJ & Yaradua never went 4 dis meetings. GMB was pressured to drag nigeria into joining d OIC but he refused. GMB, OBJ & Yaradua showed good judgement. Unfortunately, GEJ has d unenviable record of being d one to hav attended d OIC meetings. Is he clueless or what?. 2 Likes |

If GEJ attended OIC meeting, then it is because some one registered Nigeria as a member nation. That person is Buhari. IBB only pushed the application for Nigeria to be accepted as a full member nation. How many christian presidents attend OIC. If he attended, then it will be to know what they discourse and have a counter plan against them or to please the North. Its as simple as that. He practiced his democracy very well but wrongly for the greater good. |

Truckpusher: Wait a minute, l dont think l am one of those that like Obiageli .....and it dont matter anyway! From the sound of her name, she is obviously Igbo. I guess the BIG PROBLEM here is that "an intelligent Igbo sister" has decided not to suffer from this "herd and sheepish mentality" where everyone must toe the line and think along the same nexus! That she chose to be objective, that she chose to be intelligent (happy that you gave her that much credit), that she chose to be different, that she chose not to ride on the "waves" of tribalism, that she chose not to be a "Christian religious fanatic" who supports a Presidential Candidate simply because they share the same religion, that she chose to stand-out from the crowd of "follow-follow", she is not spewing the same hatred that you and yours truly spew on that "old cattle rearer" that you hope will die of cancer?.... Those are her offences and why she needs "protection" from the "goon being unleashed on her", right? So she is on the WRONG SIDE? ..... she is on the same side as these 'dirty Yolobas' She is on the same side as that Filthy mallam? She is assisting in putting that "No Cerbitcate Buhari" in Office? She is not blindly supporting "our tribes-man, (irrespective of whether he deserved it or not) but a Muslim from the detestable North! Gosh, this Obiagali must be a black sheep!....This is our chance, these is Igbo Presidency and we must extend it as much as possible, even if it means Nigeria breaks into pieces, even if it means we plunge into another futile civil war and become like Yemen or Somalia, even if it means brothers start killing brothers across ethnic & language divide? Thing is, no matter what, there are good people in ALL TRIBES..... that is why at times, if the silly majority are saying annoying things, we must all think and take a step back... and think about the "sensible and intelligent few" still left in that tribe/race. It is not wrong to decide for Jonathan, if you are truly convinced that he has done better for this country, irrespective of his tribe, religion or language. In 2011, l am sure its not news that 90% of 'Yolobas' stood solidly and voted massively for Jonathan..... against this same Buhari! The question you should ask yourself are: Did they not know he is Igbo back then? Why did they still vote for him? Did they not see Buhari there yet "willingly" chose to vote for Jonathan? Why were they not called all sort of bad names, (Igbo hatrez, anti-Igbo, Hausa-slaves, stewpid people, e.t.c) or though to HATE Jonathan, back then? Point is, whether anyone likes it or not, EVERYONE has a duty to want the best for this country of ours.... and a free-mind to make the best choice, as they see it, based on FACTS.....and not some infantile reasons like Religion, Age, tribe, health, e.t.c. That majority of the same Yorubas who voted in Jonathan in 2011, chose to reject his candidacy this time around not because he is from S/south or Igbo (pick one) or because he is a Christian, or because they dont like his face or his shoes..... but because on the "Balance of Scale", they think he has tried his best in the last six years BUT his best (which no one can surpass) is NOT GOOD ENOUGH at this point in time of our national Development. It is not a sentimental decision, it is based on critical consideration of gamut of FACTS! No one is saying Jonathan is the worst we have ever had, No one is saying he has not tried his best, No one is even saying he should be crucified. What every one (at least people like me, like Obiageli and others who can make a decision without first factoring-in where the candidate is from) is saying is that "The QUALITIES we need now" for a President....are MOSTLY FOUND IN THAT "cattle-rearing, old, No-Cerbisticate, Muslim Mallam". MAJORITY OF FREE-THINKING NIGERIANS WANT A CHANGE Who knows, Jonathan is still young and he may still be opportuned to have another shot at the Presidency, in his life time, if God wills after-all, OBJ never knew he would rule this country TWICE, when he handed over in 1979! Also, Abacha never knew he would not last 1999...even when he was scheming to perpetuate himself in office. Those are lessons we must reflect on, instead of these rabid, threatening, do-or-die attitude that is driving the polity to the precipice. Leave Obiageli alone, if she has made her choice out of a free conscience, then let her be. Aftre the election is come and gone, we would all still make-up and still be friends. All Yorubas cannot be like Doyin Okupe (Okuugbe) or FFK... likewise, all Igbos cannot be like you or other men of the belly (otimkpu as we call them) that are currently fouling the air with their stale news. Just my thoughts. Lastpage! 2 Likes |

One way or the other, we are NOT politicians and neither are we "paid SaTANOIDS" who "speak for the benefit of their belly".. ....and that means we are ALL on the same side. We want the best for ourselves and our Country - Stable Electricity so we can all live a fulfilled life Safety and Security - So that we and our families can sleep with both eyes closed Functioning "Structures" (Hospitals, Education, Govt Agancies, e.t.c) - makes life easier for all of us. Good roads - So we dont loose the likes of the "Bayelsa 11" ever again Abundance and "adequate" reward for our toil and trouble. I throw a general apology to YOU and everyone else as well. lastpage:Lastpage I quite agree with some of your objective comments on the socio economic wellbeing of all Nigerians but your story is still that of propaganda, lies like for instance the road where we lost 11 Bayelsa women wasn't bad at all - it's a new road with dual carriage way how they ended up on a head on collision is a thing that only the gods can reveal but here you are using it as an example meanwhile it is one of the benefits of Jonathan's transformation agenda. Anyway, we are on different side but we are fighting the same battle. 2 Likes |

Truckpusher: For me, "good performance" is relative. 3-hours of electricity a day might be good performance for some people, ........for me it is below par. You might argue that it was not much better under OBJ but l will remind you that "Are we supposed to be making progress, stagnant or retrogressing"? Establishing 14 additional universities might be progress for some people ..... for me, Equiping and ensuring standards in the 40+ that we already have, to ensure that what they produce can compete favourably with products from anywhere in the world, ...which is a function of the level of infrastructure they have, is the "real progress" For some, releasing money to the Army to fight insurgents in the North, just a few weeks to election, so as to use it as "campaign story" is success.... For me, if those money were released and adequate equipment sourced in the last two years, hundreds of thousands of life and internally displaced people would have been saved (some of whom might be your votes), is more of success. To initially deny that "girls were kidnapped" when they were still within reach of rescue l will consider as "executive recklessness" on the part of the President and shouting that you will storm Sambissa forest after a whole year of the said kidnap, will not bring the girls back in 2015. "Success" to me, is when a leader is "proactive and decisive" .... just like Fashola and that woman (Dr. Aidadevo) did during the initial hours of the Ebola outbreak. Left to Jonathan, he would prolly deny that anything like Ebola ever existed until Nigerians are dropping dead on the road side. To me, saying "stealing is not corruption", saying "How much did Nwobodo steal" and saying "America will know" when asked to address the issue of rampant corruption under his watch does not qualify him "successful" by any stretch of that word but to others, they think it is still acceptable. We can go on and on. Thus, l concur that it is relative and it depends on the "type and moral level" we hold ourselves to. But you still have the opportunity to "Sai Buhari" before its too late because under his watch, we would not be waiting for "America to know first, before we acknowledge that a whopping $20 Billion Dollars is missing from our NNPC coffers.
