Should Muslim Hijab Be Banned In Nigeria? by Nobody: 4:33pm On Feb 24, 2015
Going by the increase in bombing cases most especially by female suicide bombers who usually conceal the Improvised Explosive device under their hijab, I think it will be nice if FG should ban the use of hijab in Nigeria by female Muslim faithfuls to help checkmate female suicide bombers from carrying out this barbaric act... What do you think??

Freedom of worship is constitutional but using religious to bomb the poor masses is unconstitutional...

I think that long one should be banned but that short one is OK, it will hardly concel anything as it hardly passes the chest!

Should Catholic Nun head gear be banned? Should Priesthood be out lawed because some of them had sexually abused their parishioners?.......
OP You've brains, use it!!!!!!!!
Re: Should Muslim Hijab Be Banned In Nigeria? by XKZ(m): 4:51pm On Feb 24, 2015
I don't think such a ban would make much sense unless you are going to ban all long flowing attires (such as agbada, caftan, woko, buba & babariga) as they all have the potential to be used to conceal suicide bomb vests.
It's like banning golf cars because they have been used to carry out bomb attacks

How do you think we can checkmate female bombers who conceal the IED under their hijab?

Rubbish... freedom of religion. So cos they're using it to bomb in the north, they should ban it all over the country.

Which better approach do you think will be efficient enough to tackle female bombers using hijab as an express route of carrying out their deadly act?

How about flow down gowns and big wrappers? How about sutana? Based on the premise of your argument, government should ban wearing of clothing materials so that we can all be going about na.ked.

Do I look like a counter-terrorism expert? Our security agencies can liaise with the Iraqis and Isrealis who have dealt with a similar problem.
By the way, it's the abaya that's used to conceal the bomb not the hijab.
I'm wondering why you're not also addressing the issue of men using kaftans to conceal suicide vests.

You just made a nice point... Naked world indeed .. Sounds so interesting though...but if I may ask, have you seen any female suicide bomber putting on gowns or wrapper? feel free to research on it..

Used Hijab as a case study here cos the recent explosions that has rocked both yobe and Bornu in the past few days was orchestrated by young girls putting on hijab or abaya as you said..

I don't know but that doesn't mean you should punish the innocent ones na.

It'll only bring more anger and strife to our already strained country.

Besides, the hijab bombers don't constitute up to half of the entire bombers so they should tackle those ones first let it remain the hijabs. I'm sure they'll be able to come up with a more reasonable solution if they can do that.

Before women started bombing, men were already bombing with caftans. Whatever strategy was applied with respect to male caftans should apply to female abayas.

Hijab covers the head and part of the chest, abaya covers the body.

to yourself you have said something reasonable.Look around yourself right now and see how your christains ladies mess themselves around.where you see indecency most in the whole world is christain dominated environment.Look at south east, south south and the christain dominated area in the north benue as a typical example.I hate mentioning or condemning other religion but when somebody like you is trying to say rubbish about others religion, somebody must also give you what deserve.

See your life grin

There is no such law in Britain, however some schools do not allow it. France has a ban on the burkah , but only in public places.
