Nigerian politicians 're really shameless. the same Buhari that initiated fuel importation in Nigeria... Brazil Wins Nigeria Pact AP Published: March 14, 1984 RIO DE JANEIRO, March 13— Brazil has won an international bidding contest to refine Nigerian oil this year, the state oil company, Petrobras, announced today. The $1.2 billion agreement calls for Brazil to import Nigerian crude and return refined gasoline, jet fuel and diesel oil to Nigeria, a Petrobras spokesman said. He added that the accord would allow Brazil to reduce its idle refining capacity and earn a margin of profit. Brazil imports about two-thirds of the one million barrels of oil it consumes daily, mostly from the Middle East. It buys 10,000 barrels daily from Nigeria. IbnSultaan:Tell him that he signed agreement that allowed Nigeria for the first time to export crude which was refined in Brazil and was subsequently imported for local consumption in March 15, 1984. |

It is indeed pathetic, when GEJites claim reduction of fuel scarcity and one of GEJ's achievement REMOVAL OF FUEL SCARCITY - GEJ'S ACHIEVEMENT How can one such blatant lie as an achievement when it is on record there is has never been 3months without one form of scarcity or the other in different parts of the country |

My own guess is that the importation of Fuel (including diesel and kerosine) alone accounts for up to 10% of our foreign exchange demand. Stopping importation of fuel alone can add up to 10% to the value of the Naira. |

In my time as NNPC chairman,Petroleum Minister in the late 70s, 2 of our 4 refineries were built, and domestic consumption catered for -GMB ....But over the last several years our refineries have declined, and we are at the mercy of imports - GMB The countless man hours that will be spent at petrol stations today, will reduce our productivity as a nation. This should not be so. - GMB We must reject a system that has turned one of world's largest crude exporters into an importer of petrol. Things must change. - GMB |

Your poverty till 2019 but for me #ihavedecided To your comment: OBJ's govt secured debt relief for Nigeria Okonjo claimed it on her CV as the finance minister despite Soludo's claim that she knew nothing about the grand scheme that brought about the debt relief. Soludo even said that a better relief agreement could have been secured by a rookie economist. Do you get it now. |

I actually checked this thing of Nigeria being 6th or 7th largest producer of crude oil in the world via the internet and found that it is true sha. Cos i normally think its a lie, cos since I've been born thirty something years ago till now, we suffer like we don't have anything. I used to think its part of political propaganda. |
