Chapter 18


It had been a busy day for Bola and Hope. Mama Johnson just left after a brief visit. But as usual, she had been a difficult guest to please. How bola wished she never showed her face again around her. Hmm...if wishes were horses...Bola thought. She swayed gently to Wizkid's Caro crooning on the portable CD player in the bedroom, while blow drying her braids.

She was interrupted by a loud knock on the door. She shut off the dryer, and the motor made a final wheezing sound before stopping finally.

"Open the door." She was alone in the house with Hope and the kids. She knew it was Hope knocking. She unbolted the door and let her in.

"Where are the kids? Still watching their cartoon?"

"Yes ma." Hope said kneeling down the way she did whenever she addressed her madam.

"What is it?" Bola asked impatiently

Hope lowered her head and blinked continuously, fingers interwoven. "Ma...ma...my mother ca...ca...called me. She wants me to...to...come home today."

Bola turned the rocking chair, dropped the hand dryer and faced her. "Your mother wants you to come and you are just telling me?"

Hope nodded a yes, and muttered "I'm sorry ma. You can even call her to confirm." She stretched her phone towards her.

"Keep that your palasa phone abeg. When are you coming back?"

"Tomorrow ma."

"Who will take care of my babies? Who will cook and clean?"

Hope kept quiet.

Bola hissed and packed her dryer. "Woo, you can go. I will deduct from your salary if you don't come back before 2pm tomorrow, you know it's due in five days'"

A faint smile creased her face. You can deduct the whole salary, she thought.
"Thank you ma, I'll be here by 12."

"You better. Let me know when you are set, so I can go stay with my babies."

"Ok ma, thank you ma." she rose on her feet, dusted her knees and adjusted her extra large gown. Bola had bought more than enough of the extra large gowns for her when she noticed her sexy figure. Allowing her to roam about the house, looking so appealing was a risk she couldn't take.

Tade stretched and opened his eyes. He sat up on the bed, got up and walked to the window of his hotel room. Sunlight no longer slipped through the blinds. He checked his watch, 6:35pm. His guest was expected any moment.

Downstairs at the reception, Hope strolled in casually, casting furtive glances sideways as she made her way to the stairs.

"Yes?" The receptionist called out to her, rudely. "Where to?"

She was dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans, lemon green fitted top and a pair of high heeled shoes. Her short hair was combed to the back and she had on little make up. She had changed from her regular extra large dress inside an uncompleted building close to the house.

"Good evening ma. I want to see Mr Teri James." She reeled out Tade's false name and the receptionist confirmed he was there.

"Is he expecting you?" The receptionist asked, eyeing her from head to toe.

"Yes ma" she answered excitedly

The receptionist dialed Tade's room to confirm if he was actually expecting her. He had said yes.

"Room 307" she said without looking at Hope. All these small small girls sha, she hissed, loud enough for Hope to hear.

Hope quickly raced up the stairs, her new high heeled shoes making cranky noise with each contact with the polished floor. RayBan guest house wasn't the best in Osogbo, but Tade had chosen it to reduce the risk of being spotted. He had donned a black face cap, white T-shirt on a pair of blue jeans to conceal his identity, since he didn't travel with his car. He was in Osogbo on a covert mission, also, he had just started sleeping with Hope and he enjoyed their sessions.

"Knock knock."

"I'm coming." He answered from inside. He opened the door slightly to let Hope in. He took in her sexy appearance and gave her a hug. "You look beautiful."

"Thank you sir." She smiled shyly and perched on the bed, head bowed, fingers drawing imaginary lines on her blue jeans.

He opened the small fridge and offered her a can of beta malt- that was the best they had in-house. She accepted it.

"So, how far with the assignment I gave you?" He sat beside her on the bed and rubbed his hand gently up and down her thigh. She looked really young and wondered if she was actually up to the eighteen she claimed. But he really didn't care. She had all the right curves in the right places, firm bosoms. Besides, he didn't dis virgin her and that lessened his guilt.

"Hm, it wasn't easy o. I couldn't take her BB because she's always holding it. I didn't see any man, apart from uncle Gboye, her cousin."

"Yes, I know Gboye." He nodded. "But you said you had something to tell me about her." He nudged her on.

Hope stood up excitedly. "Oga, hm, it was yesterday when mama ilobu, my madam's mother came o." She clasped her hands in excitement. "I hid behind the window outside and I heard them speaking quietly." She paused and sipped her malt drink before she continued. "Mama Ilobu asked her when she was bringing you home and she got angry."

"Why?" Tade asked, surprised. Bola had always assured him they were going to Ilobu to officially meet the parents as soon as possible.

Hope twisted her mouth, shrugged her shoulders and sat down again. "I don't know o! But I heard her say what if you are not the father of her childr---"

"Whaaat?!" Tade rose in anger, stamping his feet. "Did she say who might be?"

"No, sir. She just said it to keep mama quiet, I think. Because I have never seen her with another man apart from you."

Tade shook his head in anger. He was fuming. Is a player getting played? He asked himself.

"I wan go shower, sir." Hope stood up. She was more interested in his touch. Since the day Gboye forcefully had his way with her, she had craved se*x like food. She found the experience so pleasurable she had jumped at it when Tade smooched her one of the days Bola went to the salon to braid her hair. She had enjoyed him so much she couldn't wait for it. She quickly rushed through her shower.

The bathroom door opened. Tade looked up and saw hope, stark naked. In one breath, he forgot his sorrow of possible betrayal and jumped at the offer of free se*x. He mentally berated himself as he pushed her to the bed, but he was past caring.

Outside, rain gurgled and ran through the gutters as the wind drowned her moans. Within minutes, he was done. He discarded the used cd and flushed, while he watched it go down with the water in the toilet.

Back in the room, Hope remained spread eagled on the bed, still basking in the euphoria. She saw him climb the bed and hoped for more. He was no longer in the mood, he told her.

She quickly grabbed her scattered clothes in shame and ran to the bathroom. They still had the whole night, she thought.

Tade was so confused he wished he had brought his cAr. He would have driven down to ibadan immediately. But it was too late to get a cab to ibadan safely.

"Hope, do you have anywhere you'll like to go, like your house?" He called out to her in the bathroom.

Her spirit sank. "I already told madam I'll be back tomorrow."

"I know. I just want to be alone." He hoped she understood. Just then, she walked through the door with the hotel towel wrapped round her body. She held her jeans and underwear. At the foot of the bed, she allowed the towel slip off slowly, as she attempted to dress up. That was it. Tade lost his head again and grabbed her. She smiled in satisfaction.

Thanks for joining us, you are welcome. Yes, the earlier part of this work and most of my other story were removed on purpose. My story was stolen and I had to protect my work.

Tade is already a walking dead ass

Tade's sleep was interrupted by constant thoughts of the women in his life. First, it was Wande hitting his sister, going out with Segun and flouting his orders. It's been over two weeks now but she had not begged and cried for his forgiveness as usual. Instead, she had returned home with the twins and acted like all was well. She had since changed for better, just like the old times when he controlled her, but she had refused to call Titi and Mama to say sorry.

Now it's Bola. He used to see her and the kids two weekends in a month, she complained and now he made it every weekend. What time did she have to meet another guy? He had given her more than he had ever given any woman; materially, emotionally, even more than he can ever give his own mother. His pillow was drenched in his sweat. The guest house was so cheap they switched off the generator by 12am!

He looked at Hope, sleeping soundly beside him. He had not used protection the second and third time they had se*x. How he kept on getting himself entangled in women's intricate web beat him. Looking at her, he didn't even feel anything for her. Though young and succulent, she didn't have bola's satin smooth body, hot legs and perfect curves. She didn't have wande's gentle demeanor or angelic face. She didn't even have the wildness and experience of his numerous girlfriends! "Gees!" He muttered under his breath.

He checked his watch, it was 5:07am and the loudspeaker from a nearby mosque was already blaring.

"Hope." He hit her gently with his palm. He seldom prayed, but this morning, he prayed and hoped Hope will not get pregnant.

Hope stirred and muttered incoherently in her sleep. He hit her again, this time harder. "Wake up!"

Her eyes flew open instantly. "Good morning sir." She greeted. Her breath stank to the highs. Tade sighed.

"Go and get ready, abeg." He told her.

"Ha, I can't go too early sir, madam will be surprised. I told her I was going to see my mum at Ede."

"Go and brush and clean up first, then we talk."

She rose to her feet, naked. Tade wasn't moved. He knew he was never going to touch her again, she was beneath him.

Within minutes, she was back in the room. This time, fully dressed in her jeans and top. She seemed to have got his message. "Good morning sir," she knelt down to greet him properly.

"Yea, morning. What if Bola calls your mum?"

"I already told her I was going somewhere----"

"With me?"

"No o!" She smiled. "With my friends. My mum will cover for me."

He heaved a sigh of relief. "I will leave you here. When it's 12noon, they will ask you to leave."

He got up sluggishly and made his way to the bathroom in his jeans. He took a quick shower, changed into a clean pair of jeans, donned his cap and slipped on a clean shirt. The ones he removed he kept in the small side bag he traveled with. He brought out his wallet and counted N10,000.

"Buy yourself something with this." He rummaged through his bag and brought out his writing pad and a mont blonc pen. He scribbled something on it and tore out a page. He handed it to her. "Get this at any pharmacy on your way. Use it, please."

"What is it?" She cringed

"Something that'll help you not get pregnant! Or you want a baby now?"

"Ha ha ha...I have taken something now!" She laughed at him.

"Really?" He asked in shock

She laughed again. "All my friends are doing it na..."

You can't trust these girls! He thought to himself. He shook his head at her and grabbed his prescription. At least, his handwriting will not be used against him.

"Watch tv, relax...whatever. But leave this place as soon as they come for you or by 12noon." With that, he left the room without looking back.

He picked a cab straight to Olaiya where he picked a car drop to ibadan.

"Oga, na N7000 o." The agbero middleman told him in his husky voice.

Just not to look too desperate, he tried to beat the price down a bit. He was ready to pay even more. "N5K."

The driver and and agbero smiled. On a good day, one passenger's fee was N600 for car and they usually took four. He was making extra.

Sitting comfortably in the cab, he brought out his iphone and called charles.

"Charley, I'm on my way to your place o" he barked into the phone.

"Ok, ore." Charles said calmly. They had discussed at length in the night and they have both agreed that submitting the kids' sample for a dna testing is the best thing.


Sitting back in his seat, he turned to the driver, "Do you have any music? Or fm or something?" He asked the cab driver.

"Beeni sir. But it's too early. We can try Splash fm." The cabby answered proudly

"In Oshogbo?" The cab man started a long explanation of how strong his signal is.

"Ok, anything." He quickly cut in.

The cabby tuned to splash fm and they both listened to their early morning church programs as the cab made its way through the gbongan express.

Still feeling betrayed, how to go about the DNA testing was all he thought about. Somehow, he suspected Gboye to be more than a cousin. The way Bola treated his slothfulness with kids' gloves, even the rate at which he frequents his cousin's place in Oshogbo.

"I'm the player here." He consoled himself, "I can't get played."

Within minutes, he fell asleep. Revenge on his mind, should the kids turn out not to be his.

There is every tendencies Tade will have a landslide loss.

I can't wait to see Tade's mighty fall. I will laugh so hard cos he deserves it for being a jerk and the worst betrayer of the century. Wande is starting to come out of her shell. Kudos to you candy. You rock.
