Ok. So firstly, I try to avoid gifts being given to me by guys, because it usually means they want something in return: attention, a friendship, intimacy etc. Therefore I only receive gifts when in a steady relationship. Now, I don't know if this is wrong but... I often try and buy gifts that costs the same or a lil over what he spends on me. In my mind, I know that if the relationship doesn't work out, all the money I spent I spent on myself - I don't owe him anything. For that reason, I am very weary of gifts that are too pricey, or too frequent. When I'm married, all things go as far as gifts are concerned. I know this because I spend lavishly on my immediate family, like no one's business. How much more my husband? |

MzNelly:I fully understand you. But you have to consider that some people's love language (guys & ladies), may be gifts (a Gary Chapman philosophy). |
