After GEJ don Lay the FOUNDATION FINISH

which foundation? ? If Nigeria had the layed back culture of Ghanaians do you think ww would be anywhere? ? Gej did nothing to impact the economy except discourage investors. ..... Nigerians as a people are hustlers and we need good governance to make our hustle worthwhile, something GEJ never did

Rebasing the economy did not make Nigeria, Africa's biggest economy. It is just a mathematical exercise.

And no actions gave a positive value to the mathematical exercise? Correct me if am wrong, don't all african countries undertake this mathematical calculations? Why is Nigeria's own positive? I guess the answer is, because we had a clueless president for the past four years. Smh for you guys.

My friend, rebasing an economy is not an achievement. It is something that should be done periodically according to best practises.

The real facts of the Nigerian economy is that, it is in a bad state as a result of this government's recklessness.

Nigeria just happened to have a huge population and lucky to have a lot of oil deposits and that is what has made Nigeria what it is. Nothing to do with Nigerians working hard.

Count your blessings and stop arrogantly thinking like a monkey.

Not really.

The problem with Nigeria is most of its inhabitants are not even partially aware of how well stocked Nigeria is to become a major economic powerhouse, globally.

. How true. If they knew they wouldn't have voted out GEJ over mere propaganda. My heart still bleeds.

A theory as useless as a degree-holding Nigerian mechanical engineer who always requests the services of road side auto mechanics to sort out his [ordinary] car ignition problems. A population you can't feed at 170million now is what you want to feed in 2040 with absurd population growth rate. You want to become a global world power without military innovations; 100% of our military hardwares are imported. Israel manufactured Iron Dome, USA made Zumwalt-class destroyer (the most technologically advanced warship ever built), Iran has nuclear deterents; point out a Nigeria made commissioned weapon. All you these thesis researchers, with the lies you are sharing, remember there is God ooo.

Sometimes we overscrew judgement. By 1995, China was a third word economy, even up to 2000. This was why even Japan, who were the world's second economy did not see China passing over her head. In 1998, the then Chinese President Jang Zaming(forgive sp) saw the potential of Nigeria when he visited Gen Abacha for eonomic bilateral partnership.

If the will, determination, and readyness are there, Nigeria has potential to go places.

Nigeria overtook Egypt few years ago and finally SA few months ago.

t is shocking enough to read your personal opinions presented like hard facts but it is mind bugling to see you had that much likes.
Logical reasoning needs to take its place in our schooling curriculum. We need to grow a nation where sentiments as innately human as they are, can be curbed to allow nation-building unsentimental views to key issues.

You want to grow a nation yet your your nation continues to make every mistakes it can find. Ha. Nigerians wants that nation to remain retrogressive as far as I can see.
And my original post is not my own perspective but a reality waiting to happen. As I've said, Goodluck to Nigeria

Delusions.
Nigeria cannot be super power with the current type of economic, governmental and socio-political systems and structures that runs in the country.
Lets stop deceiving ourselves.

in other words what you are trying to say is that nothing can change between now and 2040?

you're the only one that might be deceiving yourself.

He's right!

Nigeria has had the highest GDP for a long time even when S.A "overtook" Egypt. The government must have "forgotten" rebase for almost 10 years.

We started making these bogus statements since 1960. It is what Chinua Achebe calls the "cargo mentality" of a people who sit and do nothing expecting that one day a ship laden with various commodity goods will suddenly berth on there shores and every one will have what ever they want to their heart's fill. To be too optimistic about the future is a very bad way of planning. Our leaders should rather work on those gaps that we are aware of and which if they fill most of the troubles plaguing the country will resolve.
