well if ngige wants to win back the hearts of anambra people then he has to convince the incoming government to do some projects that would benefit the people immensely

Only GEJ would have been so clueless to site more mega projects in the north than his own region. Buhari will not bend his back to do any tangible project in Igboland. Especially considering the rabid anti- Igbo rhetorics of the characters surrounding him.

Clearly, if PDP strategize well and select a capable northerner in 2019 to give them a good chunk of northern votes, they will win by a big margin. Nothing has really changed. Playing into the Nigerian tribal alliances and doing a good homework on selecting a capable northerner in 2019 is the game changer. PDP lost because the contest was between a northerner and a minority southerner, and their candidate was the southern minority.

I once expressed my fear of of what this election might bring for Anambra state. I was afraid Obiano's new position of APGA party leader might distract him from his primary role of providing dividends of democracy for Ndi Anambra. Now my fear is heightened. The political landscape of Anambra is charged, APGA is hitting below the belt. Obiano's quest to achieve more for the party may result to him achieving less for the state. I'm afraid

NFA suspends federation cup finals in Anambra
on april 03, 2015 at 10:18 pm in sports

Awka – The Nigerian Football Association (NFA)
on Friday announced the suspension of the final
of the Federation Cup in Anambra, due to hold on
April 5.
The suspension was because the two factions of
the state Football Association were organising
separate versions of the finals following the
leadership crisis that have rocked the association.
The final match of the Mike Umeh led faction was
to come up between Ifeanyi Ubah FC Nnewi and
Ikpeazu Roundtable Onitsha at the Nero stadium
Nanka.
The other match, organised by Jude Obikwelu
faction, was to be between Smithcity FC Awka
and Cardinal FC Onitsha at the Rojenny stadium
Oba.
The board have been divided between Mike Umeh,
the chairman of the former board and Jude
Obikwelu his vice, with each faction organising
separate elections and laying claim to legitimacy.
Attempt by the Anambra government to intervene
in the matter yielded no fruitful result.
According to a press release from the NFA, the
suspension of the competition was made to
address the leadership crisis that have rocked the
state FA.
The release, which was signed by the secretary of
the federation, Mohammed Sanusi, further stated
that a team of the NFA elections monitoring
committee and the chairman of States FA
chairmen would visit Anambra to find a lasting
solution to the impasse.
It said the competition would remain suspended
till the matter was fully and amicably resolved.
“We have had to take the decision to suspend the
final of the Federation Cup competition in
Anambra State as a result of the leadership crisis
in that State.
“The programme will remain suspended until the
matter is resolved.
“The chairman of the NFA States’ elections
monitoring committee and the Chairman of FA
Chairmen, Ibrahim Gusau, will travel to Anambra
State to sit down with the two contending parties
and resolve the logjam,” Sanusi said
The election conducted by Umeh within the Feb
28 time frame was invalidated by the NFA, while
Obikwelu;s faction was not able to beat the
deadline. (NAN)

A SPECIAL EASTER MESSAGE FROM ANAMBRA STATE GOV:The Supremacy of Sacrifice to Human Progress and Nation-building !!!

Ndi Anambra, all over Christendom, the period of Easter is a time for deep reflection on the supremacy of sacrifice in the affairs of man. In the Christian calendar, no other event draws attention to the awesome love of God for mankind as exemplified in the sacrificial death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ as the feast of Easter does.

In much the same way, no time is humanity more vividly reminded of the significance of SACRIFICE to human progress and nation-building as the Easter period. Indeed every Easter, the entire Christendom is forced to recall that our SALVATION is a product of priceless SACRIFICE…that there can be no progress without SACRIFICE!

Ndi Anambra, this Easter is a Special one – our dear country, Nigeria is on the cusp of change. The situation calls for greater introspection and a better appreciation of the place of sacrifice in
the handling of the delicate issues of nationhood.

Just last week, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan demonstrated a deep understanding of the imperatives of sacrifice to nation-building when he accepted our people’s collective wish for change and congratulated the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari on his victory in last Saturday’s Presidential Election. In doing this, President Jonathan has shown that if we are to build a country of our dreams, Nigerian leaders must lead from the front…we must imbibe the virtue of setting a personal example.

Ndi Anambra, as we re-unite with our loved ones and friends this Easter, I urge you to devote a little time to reflect on the larger questions of nationhood and the little personal sacrifices that we must all make to create a better society for ourselves and our children yet unborn.

The coming House of Assembly election gives us a great chance to sustain the current momentum of purposeful governance in Anambra State. We need a peaceful legislative assembly and a cordial relationship between the three arms of government to continue our push to expand the frontiers of excellence in Anambra State. We can only achieve this by voting for all the 30 candidates seeking election into the Anambra State House of Assembly on the platform of APGA. I urge you to vote for them.

Ndi Anambra, I assure you that this exercise will not be like the last one. I have the assurances of all the security agencies in the state and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that this election shall be different from the last one. They have all assured me that this time, your vote will count. So, come out and vote for APGA!

Ndi Anambra, Happy Easter!

Governor Obiano is too busy Building APGA to be Distracted

Our attention has been drawn to a publication in Thisday of April 4,
2015 with the caption: “Obiano not Welcome in APC, Vows Ogene,” which
is credited to one Hon Afam Ogene, the outgoing member representing
Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Ordinarily, we do not respond to speculations, hawked around by
attention-seekers looking for a needless spat with public figures to
shore up their non-existent political capital. However, Hon. Ogene’s
laughable frothing in the mouth came at a time when the nation’s
appetite for sensational stories about political leaders is at the
keenest level and therefore deserves to be dismissed with a wave of
the hand before gullible members of the public begin to give him the
attention he so desperately needs at this moment.

The question is why would any serious person manufacture an
incredulous story in order to enable him issue a statement and cast
aspersions on the governor of Anambra State? The answer is simple,
after falling out of favour with his constituents and failing to get a
renewed mandate from the people, Hon. Afam Ogene is clutching at
straws to save his drowning political career. It may be necessary to
recall that Hon. Ogene’s career was built on quick sand in the first
place; starting off as one of the whimsical acts of political
patronage of the era that produced him. The erstwhile member of the
House of Reps has since discovered that sterling political careers do
not stand on legs of straws after he failed to make any impression on
the members of his constituents with his pointedly abysmal performance
in the legislative chambers.

Sadly, Ogene has continued to betray the poor political judgment that
cost him his congressional seat with his recent hoary attack on
Governor Obiano which he launched in the belief that such infantile
gambit would shore up his political value before the APC leadership
that is currently looking to heal the wounds of the recent
presidential elections and build a united country. If Ogene thought
that by demonizing Governor Obiano, he would win the approval of his
party leaders, he has simply shown himself as a political cretin;
incapable of seeing beyond his nose.

Afam Ogene’s handlers must advise him to retreat from the ignoble path
he has chosen for himself. It is not only unprofitable to seek to
build a career from hawking pale-faced propaganda but almost suicidal
to court unearned attention by attacking the people’s favourite
symbols of excellence.

While politics is known to be a game of possibilities, it may be
worthwhile to remind Ogene that Governor Obiano is fully aware that as
the Chairman BoT and National Leader of APGA, he carries the
socio-cultural mandate of a people who look up to him to preserve and
not betray it. It was in full awareness of the unction he carries on
behalf of the people of the South East zone that Governor Obiano
congratulated the President Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari on his
victory, assuring him of the support of Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo in his
impending effort to build a new Nigeria.

It may also be necessary to remind Ogene and his likes that Governor
Obiano’s antecedents as a technocrat and a man that keeps his words
are well known. His exploits as a high-performing governor who has
justified the confidence of his people with a resounding report card
after just one year in office is also well known. Consequently, any
attempt to diminish Governor Obiano with inchoate stratagems and
yellow journalism of the type that Victor Ogene is orchestrating in
the media will end in futility.

Candidly, somebody should please tell Hon. Afam Ogene that Governor
Willie Obiano, the Akpokuodike Aguleri is too busy building Anambra
and APGA to be distracted by political upstarts and cheap publicity
stunt-masters.

Signed

James Eze

The so called ogene was looking for attention.
I heard he used to sell plastic jerry cans in new Ochanja market constructed by Jimbaz, and he similarly made so much trouble there.

Unfortunately, politics in the southeast is still dominated by people like ogene or eselu that are tactless and would do anything just to get attention. Even if it were negative attention, they don't care.

Forget all the mudfight here and there and all the insults being thrown with reckless abandon, I will personally tell you who Afam Ogene is as far I know him, he is representing my constituency in Federal lower house Ogbaru 2 constituency.

The man was the former editor of the source magazine, he is an accomplished journalist and a philanthropist, the problem is that Chinwe Nwaebili the current speaker is vying for HOR in APGAs platform and they decided to chose her above Afam, then Obiano's stupid wife was also instrumental why Afam in embittered.

The stvpid woman went to a gathering that is not of political importance and started talking nonsense about Afam, she said that if anybody is eyeing the Ogbaru seat in HOR under APGA that he shoulnt bother because it has been given to Chinwe yet Afam was there and the event was taking place at Ogbakuba; Chinwe's hometown.

Afam Ogene represented us well in the HOR and we are proud of him in Ogbaru, he is always around during the weekend hanging out with the youths, he supported many events and donated many transformers to many communities.
I have met him one on one and he used to frequent my house when my dad was still the landlord association chairman of our area, the man is nice forget all the attacks and insult.

Imagine a politician am holding brief for him in a faceless online forum, so despite all our shortcomings Afam is one politician I hold in high esteem in Anambra, forget the plastic market at Jambiz and Okrika at Ochanja, he is a gentleman and he doesn't discriminate.

Obiano should control his wife before another Mama Piss take off in Anambra State, he has sidelined the deputy governor for his domestic appendage, check all the pics here and you will see how the woman is super imposing herself on the man, why is she following him everywhere.

Last two weeks in an event in Oka he recognized his wife before recognizing the deputy governor and the speaker, please Anambra State is not an Ozo title events, he should know when the wife should be seen in the public glare. Everyday before ABS cast their news they will first of all talk about what the wife of the governor said and did in an event before the business of the state will start reeling out.

This nonsense should stop

Hmmm.
Have heard and read so much about Mrs obiano's negative attitude. I watched the YouTube video of obiano's hundred days in office celebration. I was suprised when the MC welcomed the governor, his wife before the deputy gov who was sited right there. I've noticed that in other occasions too. I hope this does not affect obiano's administration in the long run. First ladies shouldn't overstep their boundary

Nwanne ndewo maka job well done, I know that Anambra is the fastest developing state in Nigeria but that should be a story for another day.

We are second in commercial banks in Nigeria only after Lagos.
We are second in MFB in Nigeria only after Lagos.
We are second in monetary volume yet after Lagos.
We have more than 15 international markets.
We have more than 5 television stations.
We have more than 6 FM stations.
We have the highest number of high rise residential buildings in Nigeria.
We have are many industrial layouts.
We have thriving rural villages with robust economic activities.
We have more 6 institutions of higher learning.
The best secondary schools in Nigeria are domiciled on our soil.
Our education system is a reference point for efficiency.
We produce more graduates than any state.
We churn out less JAMBites than only one state.
We don't discriminate neither do we segregate against anybody, we are accommodating and peace loving as long as you can compete us.
We are economically aware as much as we are culturally conscious.

The list is endless yet we have no federal presence and we are just coming out of 3years civil war and 4 decades of neglect and economic blockade.

Please anybody that is envious of us knows the reason why cus we are taking over.

Red cap is strictly for Ndi Nze na Ozo. You can't wear the red hat until you get initiated and perform the rituals on Isa-ile. But today most youth have no respect for the item especially those who doesn't have the Ozo institution in their place.
