I was a zealous one - a zealous Christian. Initially, I was the salvation by works type. That was when I was too young to read the Bible all by myself. I believed everything my parents told/preached to me. I saw the Bible as a perfect book (I didn't have the concept that the Bible had history. I totally believed it was a compiled perfect book that came directly from God) Though I didn't take interest in reading it that much, as it always bored me whenever I tried to.

It was when I aged 16 that I fell in love with the Bible. My curiosity about WHAT THE BIBLE REALLY TAUGHT made me sacrifice much of my time in reading it. I noticed some verses that contradicted what my parents taught me. I became salvation-by-faith-type. Still, other verses baffled me as they didn't agree with my belief (while some did)

I moved from one denomination belief to another - Universalism was the last. I finally told God to tell me plainly which one was right, but no answer.

Godisimaginary.com gave me the last punch, and I gave up at 17.

Which accurate prediction? even we at this stage in time knew that knowledge will increase in future.

Before you talk about accurate prediction of the future, u must predict actually what the knowledge will possess either in technology or otherwise which the Bible never accurately predicted about.

For instance, it is very easy for me to write a book predicting future knowledge which i know knowledge will never stop here and is not static without writing actually whether in the next 500 or 1000 years or so, there will be knowledge by technology where one can wear a special shoe and travel with the speed of light from lagos to san jose in 1 second; i will not take glory for predicting accurately.

The authors of the bible knew that they are better than the people or cultures that lived before them coming to knowledge, then they predicted the future which they were not accurate.

But i doubt only reading and understanding the Bible can rescue you from "all time immemorial indoctrination" from your parents, guidiance, peers, society etc.

He read the Bible and saw Hell and Judgment and as a result he hated religion.
He is an addicted sinner and he knows where he is going to. He thought by disbelieving Hell will stop to exist but deep down he is scared of Hell.

After I questioned him to a point of break he finally confessed to me that he knows he is going to Hell but he is hoping that many scientists and wise people would be found there too. And together they will find a way of turning Hell into a paradises. What foolishness.

I pray he would realize he could live a life free of sin and make it to heaven.

What is amazing about the Bible is how the New Testament quotes the Old Testament with amazing certainty as if it is the final authority (it is). Many ancient nation would have been forgotten but for the Bible. It is much better arguing about historicity of the Bible than calling it a myth cos no myth is written the way the Bible is with amazing orderliness of History.

That's why it is one of those delusional stories and myth that survived to this day unlike other numerous of its kind with clear ideal of mythological and delusional story line that went into extinction.

treated with lime before the hair was scraped of” (The Bible Was Right, New York:

(3) Consider another interesting case of Bible precision. When Paul was en route to
Rome for trial, the ship upon which he sailed became involved in a terrible storm. When
it eventually became apparent that the vessel was in a very dangerous circumstance,
the crew cast the ship’s anchors into the water. At the same time, they “loosed the
rudder bands, hoisted up the foresail, and aimed the ship towards the beach” (Acts 27:40
KJV).

The Bible can be tested — historically, geographically, scientifically, etc. And it always
passes the test. Its incredible accuracy can be explained only in light of its divine
inspiration.

The copy and paste started from where " was introduced. I copied and pasted it because I thought you won't bother clicking because of it being an 'apologetic website'. However, I believe that the New Testament confirms the Old and Quran (in some ways) confirms the existence of Jesus and the Injil. Though, I won't fail to recognise the fact that history is very complex and hard to verify, but I believe websites with strong and unshakable believe in the Bible( answeringislam.org & creation.com) won't exist if they have doubt about the Bible. I believe God who knew the importance of writing down knows it would be very hard to swallow when years pile up on one another. All I need to have, every proof I need to believe in this amazing book of God in history, morals and parables that holds so much promise is Faith (substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen). If at all he turns out to be another crafty historical lie( which I 100% doubt), I will never know because I'll have seized from existence and really have nothing to lose for the world is for a short time, but If true, I will reign with my creator forever. Hell. That's what did it for me. I can't remember a specific moment this got to me but what I now find completely unreconcilable is the concept of hell. Eternal punishment for a finite earthly crime. Impossible to reconcile this with anything other than an evil God.

I did not even bother to make sense of the whole thing. I also attended Catholic primary and secondary school and performed all my religious duties as expected. By form 4, i started trying to understand what the whole thing was about, questions like who or what is God, where did he or it come from, where did the world cum the universe come from, etc.

I started attempting to get information from any source i could lay my hands on. I read the Bible cover to cover, i read scientific books, like Astronomy, Biology, pysics, etc. I went into comparative religion to compare Christianity with other world religions, i read archeology, anthropology, paleontology and even world history. I also dabbled into spirituality and occultism. Finally i came to the realization that all religions are just a mind control mechanism. It is like a ponzi scheme to fleet the masses of their money and minds. Just like the matrix, religion is a prison you cannot feel or taste, it is a prison for the mind, once you are imprisoned, there is no escape. Very priviledged people are fortunate enough to escape. Those that try to escape would be persecuted by the system.

So to those who have been able to free their minds, i say Congratulations
