Watch the way the Oba was vibrating and fuming, it wasn't a joke. The reaction of the Igbos was spontaneous, they probably didn't realise the seriousness of what the Oba said at first.
It happens like that sometimes.

This exposes that the Igbo leaders there have a prior agreement with the Oba and they know themselves well. He was telling them not to betray him and you can hear the Igbo leaders promising their allegiance .

One of them was even saying, you know iam a man of my word , meaning he had given his word. The Oba clearly was talking about anyone who wanted to betray the agreement

Funny how some people have double standards and don't even know it.
I thought the Igbos have no respect for elders and constituted authority?
Guess who would have been the first to react if the Igbo leaders had started by throwing it back at the Oba to his face and in his palace?

In less than typical Igbo version, they showed sophistication by not reacting and taking the awesome insult in good faith.

Listening to the audio of the response of the Igbo leaders to Oba and you will know that sounds like friends joking around . This is after Obas comments, obvious this is some sort if swearing between leaders who had a pacts one of the Igbo leaders was even saying, you know I'm a man of my word and they then swore allegiance to Oba .
