kendrick9:U igbos are just pathetic! This ur 'No man's land syndrome is the reason for Oba Akiolu's backlash. It was ds same way u incited the Notheners into slaughtering your fore-fathers like suya. Ur hungry eze-gndigbos will endorse APC during the day, but will connive with the PDP at night. What treachery! The Oba has spoken; 'You pple shld be ready to live in Lagos as guests or be drowned into the lagoon' Period! |

kolonigga: For the first time in a very long while I see Mr Femi Falana talking utter rubbish. How can the Oba of Lagos decend from his throne to pologise to Igbo people. Everyone that has commented on this matter since it went; viral whether Yoruba or lgbo have been unequivocal about the offensive nature of the Oba's speech. The Oba's palace itself has come out to offer explanation that the interpretation being given is not what the Oba meant. That it is a mix up of lexicon brought about by the fact that the Oba was giving his address in english which could not have been as smooth as if he was speaking in Yoruba. The meaning alluded therefore is not what could have been conveyed if he were speaking in the yoruba language. This explanation should be enough toassuage the fact that the Oba did not mean any offense, and all frayed nerves should by now cooled. But for all sorts of people including Femi Falana to now be giving the Oba ultimatum to aplogise to Igbo people is just out of this world. In yorubaland Obas do not apologise to their subjects. Unless the indication is giving that Igbo people in Lagos are not the subjects of the Oba should we begin to recondider this incident in all its ramifications. Besides, as long as it held that the Oba lacks the power to cause anyone to die in the lagoon within seven days it clearly means that he cannot violate anybody's right. Therefore even if he is not an Oba and could be made to apologise how could he aplogise for something he not only has not done, but clearly cannot do. Misinterpretations have been made, explanations have been offered . Case closed!!! 1 Like |

This exactly how I expected our yoruba brethren to speak, but unfortunately, they spoke more than the Oba. The Statement by Falana is even preferred to that made by Prof. Utomi and Oby ezekwesili on this matter. So you see the level of civilisation in all of them. Kudos to Falana. 1 Like |

How can somebody open the rotten mouth to say 'Lagos is no man's land?' I consider dt the height of insult on the tolerance of the Yorubas. I've alwz known the igbos are these lousy ryt my NYSC days. I'm totally in support of Oba Akiolu's statement But I think he should back it up with action. |

Almost all yorubas in lagos are not lagosians so we are in same boat, even some of those your anus-thinking obas. Can u list the things igbos are doing wrong in lagos? Ok because they build good houses, drive better cars and develope lagos? Untill yoruba young men and women stop following the old ways of those their grand papas, stop being lazy to work,u people will keep hating igbos while they progress till jesus comes. 1 Like |

Lanretoye: exactly. i have being defending Igbos and fighting this seeming hatred for igbos but the response to the Oba's statements have been very irresponsible from some of those i know. the Oba said it in a cheeky way not like he meant the violence. the ignorance on the Obas part was that he felt people living in his kingdom should do his bidding. The constitution says otherwise. however this should not call for insulting the Oba. Some offices are to be respected irrespective of the occupier. same way i didnt support the insults hurled at GEJ |

WHY IS JIMI SELLING LAGOS STATE TO THE NDIGBOS? Yorubas are very decent, peaceful, accommodating and reasonable people. No tribe will entertain on their land what is going on in Lagos. And Jimi Agbaje is the cause of all this. We all condemn the statement of OBA AKIOLU, if it is indeed true, but let us ask ourselves one important question: WHY IS OBA AKIOLU SEEMS ANGRY WITH IGBOS? My answers are: 1. I WILL ELEVATE EZE NDIGBO TO THE STATUS OF OBA OF LAGOS - JIMI AGBAJE. 2. IGBO WILL DETERMINE WHO RULES LAGOS- IFEANYI UBAH 3. LAGOS IS NO MAN'S LAND.- IFEANYI UBAH DURING TAN CAMPAIGN. 4. IGBO DEVELOPED AND CONTROL LAGOS- JIMI AGBAJE DURING GEJ CAMPAIGN IN AKWA IBOM 5. WE MUST PRODUCE THE NEXT DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF LAGOS- EZE NDIGBO MY HONEST QUESTIONS TO IGBOS ARE THESE: 1. CAN OBI OF ONITHSA ACCEPT ALL THE ABOVE MENTIONED? 2. CAN EMIR OF KANO ACCEPT THIS IN HIS DOMAIN ....? 3. DO YOU HAVE ANY SINGLE TRIBE IN YOUR CABINET IN THE EAST? 4. CAN ANY TRIBE CLAIM ONITHSA OR ABA TO BE NO MAN'S LAND? 5. CAN OBI OF ONITHSA ACCEPT THE ELEVATION OF SARKIN HAUSA IN ONITHSA TO OBI STATUS? My conclusion: We have been living together as brothers for years in peace. You must respect our tradition and institutions. Ifeanyi Ubah should stop jumping around Lagos beating drums of war and divisibility. And to Jimi Agbaje, stop selling Lagos to the control of the Ndigbos because of your inordinate ambition to be governor of Lagos at all cost. GOD BLESS YORUBA AND THE NDIGBOS |
