What will the apology do or cure? The deed has been done and the damage has already been done, and the fact that he let it drag on for this long would render the apology [almost] useless and meaningless when it is eventually tendered (that is if he would even apologise).
Meanwhile, let's forget all these and move on from here. The Igbos have already decided!! #swimming things activated#, #oya let's go there.
Use the lagoon to prepare for the next olympics; time to defeat Michael Phelps.
wow, ndigbo ibe m, pls lets keep calm, forget this mans insult and move on. Those that love Ambode pls vote for ambode, those that love Agbaje pls vote for agbaje. Peoples condemnation of this act has shown lot of support already, it shows we,re getting to one and better nigeria, its a pity many bigots still roam among us as a country.
God bless the Igbo nation.
God bless lagos state
God bless Nigeria.

If you can't do it in your land you can't do it anywhere! Charity begins at home!

You can't give what you don't have. A man in rags can't promise to buy clothes for other people!

Yorubaland was declared the best, richest and most beautiful among all the regions in the modern day Nigeria by the Europeans when they came and chose our land cos of Yoruba ingenuity.

Ibos must be singled out for destruction, economically and politically in Lagos starting from now.

Wonderful... So all of these will happen while the rest of SE goes on a long vacation? Lmao, you hear something new everyday. The distance between SE/SW isn't a 24hr trip, it sure isn't 12hrs either, it's quicker and shorter than you think. Heck Anambra to Lagos is 6-7hrs, so you think you'll go on a killing spree and the millions of Igbos in Lagos will just siddon look... I laugh at you. Ogbunigwe used in Biafra will be a joke to what will be used. This won't be a fight of Dane guns and machetes or bows and arrows, we Igbos will fund, by any means necessary, the purchase of sophisticated weaponry to decimate Lagos and anyone standing in our way.

Your Oba should be advised that you don't beat the drum of war and not expect collateral damage. The damage will be done to both sides, the greater damage will be Lagos... The economic (industrial and human) status of Lagos will sure be zeroed... In all, STOP ranting something you can't stand. We Igbos don't want any war; we advise against such but NOT afraid to stand our ground.... NO TO INTIMIDATION. Come Saturday, Igbos will vote JK, I'd like to see him win let the worst happen.[/quote

And your supply lines will all be kept wide open and free, right ? You are damn funny, aren't you ? No one denies the fact that you will kill not being dummies but my assurance is no single igbo soul will leave Lagos alive. You do not seem to have appraised the situation well to know that you are in a very precarious situation. When you threaten me on my heritage you bring out the beast in me. Take note of this: WE SHALL KILL AKIOLU IF HE OFFERS ANY APOLOGIES. To tell you we take this serious never mind the likes of Falana who are simply playing to the galery.

and will that change his intentions and mindset towards the Igbos in Lagos? Will it take back the words and the damage?
There are people you don't expect things like this from. The Oba ought to know his importance and place in the society - he's a father to all, irrespective of tribes and political inclinations.
This is one thing the Oba of Benin would never do, and certainly the one place you can never find him.
you are right bruv ..am disappointed in the oba of lagos , lagos is a metropolis of Nigeria and such words should not be uttered by a monarch of that status

Lol at supply lines will be kept open and free...Perhaps you're still a child who knows nothing about war; you have no idea on supply and logistics. War is about money, and then the will power... When you have these two, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. In your mind, you think after you have massacred ALL the Igbos, we will seat and watch as you go about being free? Lol.. Another pathetic response. GO AND SLEEP... OKAY grin grin

No one threatened you; you're the one who feels threatened because of what you feel or think the Igbos are doing to you. If anyone or any group should be fuming, it should be the Igbos. Stop your rants and take a seat, if a war breaks, in terms of casualties, political and economic destruction/harm, the odds are against Lagos from all front. I'd advise that you stay out of something you cannot handle. STOP threatening, STOP chanting war rhetoric...

When you make statements such as these, you are only breeding hatred and inciting violenece in people that accomodate you with open arms, you have successfully showed that your plan is not to cohabit peacefully but to actually annex their land. Yoruba can be accomodating they are not fools. why don't enjoy these amazing people's hospitality, why do you want to make your lives miserable? When it start you will eventually blame yourself in the end. If you guys are wise enough you should work hand in hand with the yorubas because in the end you will reap bountifully. You won't gain anything by being a rebel in another man's land.
Nonsense, who is accomodating who ? Na you buy house for me. You dey craze. These people are mad oh. Come one inch close to my house and I will make sure you dont recognize your image on a mirror.

It takes two to tango.

Oba Akinolu may not be right on this but the attitude of our Igbo brothers and sisters could frustrate one.

Having helped them more than what their region has done for them, instead of being grateful; their actions seem to be undermining the essence of our existence through their incendiary statements. Calling their hosts cowards- what do you want after that-fight to show we are not cowards.

Oba Akinolu is their match and that is why the situation seems difficult now.

A gentle king could be disobeyed easily but did they say anything at the palace? No. They dare not.

It was after leaving the palace that chest beating, ultimatum , etc started surfacing.

Who then is the cowards? Ta lo fe gbenan woju ekun lai f'eje we ( who wants to put light at the face of a tiger without being bathed with blood)

Remember, 'He who makes peaceful resolution difficult , has made violence inevitable.'

Another fool unleashed. Who did you help? A bonafide citizen. Your brain cells contains nothing but shit.

You have answer your own questions, Yoruba from Benin republic are more lagosians than you or any ibo in lagos! Ibos are not human beings like that, so nothing can be solved between Yoruba and ibos. We will never be friends, and all we need is one showdown to put things in the right places! We have passed the stage of dialogue with you people.

I am Igbo but an apc supporter but I seem not to understand what the above statement means? First you said you have helped us and I ask in what way have you helped igbos? We come to lagos, we rent houses from you guys even at exorbitant prices we still pay up, we rent shops for our businesses and still pay up even when the govt does not provide all we need, we still pay our taxes. Is there anything the yorubas has given igbos free or is there anything igbos have from the yorubas that is not as a result of their hardwork and enterprise? Please I would like an explanation of how you guys have really helped igbos.

secondly you stated we frustrate you and I ask in what way have we done that? By going our normal business without looking for trouble? Do you really know the meaning of frustration or are you frustrated out of your own envious nature of the igbos ability to make something out of nothing in any environment they find themselves?
