Well said. If a visitor is becoming too arrogant to the person that accommodate him, definitely he will be shown his way back to where he's coming from. I don't know how a visitor will be claming too know of another's property. The best thing is to throw them out of Lagos let them go back to their land and develop their place. At the same time I can't blame them is useless PDP that want power by all means I will blame. They are the one giving them too much popularity and they will later regret it.Is it possible for any other tribe to do all this nonsense in their state?Bunch of ingrate.Lagos give you opportunity to be part of their government by appointing you commissioners, hon and other benefits but you can't think to appreciate rather to be ungrateful.Like I used to tell your ibo fellows that yorubas don't like problem but if you put us to the wall you will see hell more than what Oba Akiolu said.In term of everything in the country and around the world we senior you.Education, population, money, international c.If it leads to war honestly speaking you will go down in history.just a little word for you!

Who is Mr Akiolu that he can not be criticised especially with that silly threats which you patronising dishonest bunch are calling jokes?

This man is oba to Lagosians, he is not the oba of Nigeria.

Obj was made fun of, caricatured and compared to apes, he laughed it off. Jonathan and his wife were abused, swore at and called as sorts of names ranging from..clueless to illiterate but heaven did not fall.

Both Obj and GEJ were president to nearly 200m citizens of Nigeria with different obas, Ezes, Emirs and other Chiefs. Heaven didn't fall when these men were turned to comic reliefs even when they haven't done anything to warrants the insults.

Can you compare your oba of Lagos to these men? This man had contributed to the reason why some police men wear flip flop on duty, torn uniform, faded shirts and rusty weapons, if he wasn't oba today, what would he be doing?

Why couldnt he act like a wise elder and control his emotions and utterances. You people respond as if there was a sort of coup de tat or conspiracy to dethrone him.

Who is oba of Lagos that people should keep quiet when he says nonsense?you threaten people with death and guys are calling it jokes? Some phhools are talking about burning properties , looting and killing as if that would solve the problem.

Why don't you people leave the Igbos alone and face your problems. Anybody looking for a fight should go to Kwara state and put an everlasting end to the incessant rampages of fulani herdsmen.
Well, i guess you don't know that even God respects Kings...The Oba is a king...Obasanjo, Gej and Buhari will come and Go and the King remains...albeit, Lagos is smaller than Nigeria, but he is the King of Lagos, as the Queen of England has been on her throne since before you were born and her legacy lives, so also the King of Lagos legacy lives...With all the Ezes in iboland and Lagos ...you ought to know this, but you guys are either disrespectful/ just like to be stubborn, but you need to be educated.

These Yoruba ppl are so selfish and pompous!

If not that Lagos was once the capital of Nigeria, It would have been a local minor state like every other state in this country!!
This discrimination towards Igbo people by yorubas is getting out of hand!
for starters, why on earth should that useless oba threaten igbos in Lagos?? Are we not free to vote whoever we want?? That oba and his supporters are sent to destroy the peace of this country!

What I really wanna understand is what exactly did Igbo ppl do to this man
This inhumane discrimination has been going on for a long time! As long as u are a citizen of Nigeria, u have every right to settle down wherever u want in Nigeria.

we don't discriminate against any tribe in igboland, so why should they? In case they didn't know, igbos also took part in developing Lagos. Igbos are the most hardworking ppl in Nigeria(and I'm not saying that bkus I'm Igbo, its the fvcking truth. just like everybody knows Yorubas like education and parties)

for Pete's sake, we are the same ppl, human beings. just like someone said, tribes are just created to give power, it doesn't differentiate u from others.

#peace! angry
shut up we igbos are big fools, everytime we claim and make noise how we developed other peoples land, while our own land is lavishing in poverty and disdain, why dont we come and develope our own land, we are bringing lots of hatred towards us,which is very baad, due to our very stubborn, disrespectful and arrogant attitiude.for ur information lagos is purely youruba land we are vistors, and igbos only do buying and selling in lagos,we didnt develop lagos, lagos was former f.c.t. It was developed by all nigerians, so lets stop making noise, and learn to respect the owners of the land.

"Igbo immigrant resident community in the Yoruba kingdom of Lagos in Southwestern Nigeria." This type of statements can only come from people who have not come to terms with the fact that Nigeria operates a constitutional democracy, where everyone is first a Nigerian before being an Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba. To imagine that this is coming from people who claim to be educated, beats the imagination. Which kingdom are these dreamers talking about? Who are the immigrant resident community they are talking about? The Yoruba from Kara, Ogun, Oyo and Osun states do not have more claims to Lagos than others from Anambra, IMO, Kano, Kebbi etc. For a group of confused people to come under a hurriedly put up name, to be issuing silly comments, means that a lot of the so-called highly educated people from the southwest, urgently require legal education on the basis of our constitutional democracy, which has ensured that Lagos has over four decades, have been receiving allocations from the oil and gas earnings derived from the Niger delta.

These bunch of rabble rousers should focus more of their energy into more useful ventures that will benefit them and their families, other than chasing a pipe dream that died the day, Awolowo, ken Saro-wiwa etc, decided to side with the Hausa fulani in rejecting the Aburi accord, which would have guaranteed truly self governance for the regions. Any attempt by anyone to intimidate or harass any Nigerian in Lagos, on account of ethnicity or religion, would be met with disastrous consequencies for its proponents. Awolowo spent his entire life resisting Ojukwu's quest for self determination, insisting that we must remain one, and one we have come to remain, and no amount of silly noise making by Lilly livered people, hiding in the UK, us, and other foreign countries will change the status quo. Come to think about it, GEJ organized a confab, whose implementation would have ensured full fiscal federalism for the federating units, but your new Awolowo, Thiefnnubu, behaved true to type, by siding with the Hausa/Fulani, who remain the perennial neo-colonial masters of the southwest region, to scuttle any chance of the confab report being implemented. Yet, a group of clowns are bandying together under a funny name, to be spewing trash. A word is enough for the wise.

A man is a man. A Tribe is a tribe. A man should be judged as a man. I know a lot of ibo men and women in Lagos that are better personalities than Yoruba men and women. All this tribalism has to stop. Every individual should be treated without any negative stereotype . The tragedy is the greatest tribalists are often well learned showing the Nysc is a waste of time. We need to change our mindset. Lagos is like London. It is a melting point of culture and commerce. The true Londoners by origin are probably less than 10percent and that's what's going to happen in Lagos enventually.I'm Yoruba and from Lagos by origin from the durosimi-eti lineage but I dare say it's not just the Yorubas that make lagos great. It's the ibos, ijaws, Hausas, fulanis, urobhos and over 50 other cultures and ethnicities that have representation in Lagos. I am first of all a Nigerian before Yoruba not the other way round . One Love people

God bless you immensely for these words of wisdom!!!

I hope other folks will learn from this write up

Irrespective of what the Oba of Lagos said, the Yorubas stil expect u to respect the throne because its an institution!

Meanwhile I strongly frown at the Oba's statement. As a royal father, I expect him to know better.
There is no arogance in my statement but if you feel I am arogant, then you have to take your complaint to God who chose the Igbo race and made us a special people to police the affairs of the whole world

Was Lagos a village before it became a capital?

Lagos was already economically viable before they made it a capital, thanks to the Yorubas there.

Igbos moved to Lagos not because it was a capital, but because it was a thriving and peaceful Yorubaland.

All of Nigeria is developed with oil money. Yet Anambra is still Igboland, right?

OperationIgrigi:
**grins** If the so-called yorubas cannot pick up arms and pull out of Nigeria, then they are just blowing hot air. Lagos was develop with palm proiceeds from the east, groundnut proceeds from the north and Oil proceeds from the SS(which also have large indigenous Igbo population). The yorubas can not reap where they did not sow.

Majority of workers in NNPC and Chevron are yorubas who got there because of yoruba administrative influence of the likes of kupolokun and others.

If yorubas want non-indigenes to leave lagos, it is very achievable but..

1. They must declare an independent country from Nigeria. They can't eat their cake and have it. (ie They can't drink peoples oil and still keep FG developed Lagos to themselves.)

2. Severe themselves from the oil proceeds they get from regions belonging to "strangers". No cup-in-hand oil allocation for them.

3. Start building a border post at Ore with immediate effect, infact odua diaspora can fund that.

4. Recall all their indigenes schooling and working in oil coys and banks in the East. Including their herbal drimk sellers.

5. Otedola, Mike Adenuga, and their oil billionaires and owners must relinquish their Oil wells and Oil Mining Licenses.

6. Publicly burn and denounce the Constition of Nigeria that guarantees every Nigerian equal rights.

Until they meet these very achievable condition these guys should channel their noisemaking and energy in donating toilet facilities for their families in oyo, osun and kwara. It's more pertinent.

No right thinking person should support what the Oba said but I think the igbos are taking this whole issue too far. I was born and raised in Kano state and I know a lot of Igbos lives and trade there.
My question is, if the Emir of Kano should make an utterance like this, cam the igbos react towards it like this? I spent 5 years in the east and I can swear the igbos won't accept the yoruba's just like the Lagos state govt have done.
Everyone agreed the utterance from the oba is uncalled for but I am really getting pissed off with the way the igbos are going about it.
Try the same in the north and we all know what would have happen to you guys by now.

I'm glad the Oba's even made this assertion because it really made my Yoruba colleagues to show me the kind of deep hatred Yorubas have for Igbos. They told me gladly at the office that they were elated that the Oba made that statement; they also said that no "real" Yoruba person will ever reprimand or reproach the Oba for what he said. I was flabbergasted when they were all saying all these. These Yorubas are the people I have worked for years and loved thinking they also "loved" me back. The truth is bitter. Yorubas blatantly hates Igbos. I'm begging their so called "elites" to plead on our behalf so that the Federal government of Nigeria will allow Igbos to seceede. PLEASE! BIKONU!
