[quote author=Alisha4U post=32643735][b]The only Bigots I see in this whole matter are the Yorubas! Your Oba threatened, swearing to his Allah that he would throw the Igbos into the lagoon if they should vote for Agbaja and instead of unequivocally condemning him, you are condemning the Igbos for blowing it out of proportion! Is there a proportion for the threat of genocide by a ruler with millions of followers who would be ready to do his biddings?

I've never heard any Yoruba person (Beside some political statements) condemn this great threat unequivocally! Instead, you Yorubas are all united against the Igbos on this singular account of your Oba's rascally statement, nothing more. Your are united against the threatened Igbos for crying out loud, on the account that they are crying too loud or 'blowing the whole thing out of proportion'!

What a shame! Even your educated elites are infested with this bigotry.

Ok imagine what they are using to taunt Igbos, if an igboman do now they will say they are blowing things out of proportion.

King of Zulu asked foreigners to leave SA before you know it xenophobic protest started sweeping across SA and people started lynching others.

The similar thing happened during the Rwandan Genocide, it all started with Radio broadcast by a presenter.

Now Oba threatened Genocide and yolobas are expecting Igbos to shout Kabyesi on painment, they are expecting them to prostrate when their lives are in danger.

The reason why it was blown was to institutions like ICJ and NHRC to be aware of when anything dangerous started happening. The oba have boxed himself in a very tight corner so any strand of Igbo hair that is missing in Lagos will hold him responsible.

My yolobaa friends in FB also use this image and the bus, another one used a lifejacket with an Igboman on it say that the life jacket is fake that igbos must be drown in Lagoon with or without it.

I didn't even bother to reply them neither do I block or unfriend anybod, we are still paddy because our friendships predates Nigeria politics and we are mutually beneficial to one another.

We attended one of the best Roman catholic secondary schools in Ondo state and our relationship remained the same ever since we left Secondary school to different tertiary institutions.

After so many years in different directions of life, fate led us to each other on that fateful day; we met again at Barbing Salon in London; exchanged pleasantries and phone numbers. And funny enough, we both attend the same Pentecostal Church.

However, problems started last week when the issue of Oba Akiolu was being blown out of proportion. I went on my Facebook page only to see his Timeline filled up with myopic views/biased write ups about Yorubas and distorted history. I ignored it but my conscience couldn't. I therefore decided to call his attention to what Arthur Eze said about Yorubas in the presence of Goodluck Jonathan and Obi of Onitsha and the Yoruba quiet response to the repulsive and annoying utterances. I told him that as a pastor-to-be; your Timeline has always been used for Evangelism but all of sudden, it has now been turned to a platform to bash Yorubas. I told him to desist from such habit and i moved on with my life.

Unfortunately, he chose not to address or respond to my submission/grievance. He went on his Timeline and bashed me in directly. I read his indirect message on his Timeline, I wanted to talk but I thought there was no need for it and I moved on. To my surprise today, he filled up his Timeline again about how Urhobo, Itshekiri, Ijaws etc should come together against Yorubas and I got upset.

I went on his Timeline and narrated the history of Nigeria which turned out to irritate and upset him. We exchanged words and I advised him to delete me off his friends list for life.

Sad, isn't it?

But life goes on. Thank God I m deleting bigot out of my life.

Is not even enough, what about another write up asking every yoruba with Igbo friends (male & female ) to delete their friendship from them, so that there will be total separation between the two tribes. Igbos are as serious as heart attack and you yorubas don't get it. Just you and your friend is just not enough. In the past, Igbos sacrificed millions in achieving the above objective and will attempt again at the right time. Now you must accept that you and your friend are from a world apart, and that's why you did the needful. Hope to see it done wholesale.

I got to know and understand tribalism on naira land. I never knew it existed. And I am perplexed at what I see here

can you imagine the world most bigoted tribe on earth. Yorubas, because of their bigoted and hateful nature already engaged in one genocide against the Igbos. To the contrary Igbos have never in their history engage in bigotry or hate to have invested in genocide, but eternally fighting to extricate themselves from this demonize hatred against their race.

Honestly this drama during this election period has realy opened my eyes as an Igbo person to things I have overlooked b4 and I have taken some critical deciscion. One is that I will reduce my exposure to Lagos completely to zero both investments, businesswise etc. I was in the east for like a week and I was realy impressed, eg Awka is wearing new look, with highbrow area springing up and enough land to develop. These are all we leave to go and dwell in lands where we are not appreciated.
The time has come for we Igbos to forget all these running away from our place, let us go home and develop our place. This should be our agenda, if we do so in the next 10 to 20 years we will be glad we did. As for me I have made up my mind.
the only reason some of us are up there is just cos of the seaport in Lagos, if we can dredge the seaport in Onitsha or ibaka seaport in akwaibom then Lagos would be a forgotten story. Ibos will come back and business will even be cheaper.

he will also be thanking God for deleting an insensitive and unreasonable friend from his life.

Comparing Arthur Eze to oba is the height of absurdity. Oba is revered among the yoruba while Eze is a political jobber who sponsors politicians to gain relevance. Outside the cycle of his political associates, he is nobody. Why would u be likening Eze to Oba in order to white-wash Oba's despicable statements.

Do well and read Chimamanda's write-up and u will see why many Igbos are very bitter abt d Oba's statement. He was invoking the memory of the 1966 progrom and u expect the Igbos to just forgive and forget. Thats a very provocative line of thought.

Go to United States, Europe and make and just try to joke abt killing jews. Ur entire career and reputation will be finished dat same day. Attempt it in Armenia too and see. But its only in Nigeria, the Igbos are expected to forget and move on.

Go and hero-worship ur bigoted oba...u dont deserve the friendship of an Igboman.

And so you equates killing of jews to deaths of ibos and think you make any poo of a point. Did the jews start the war that resulted in their genocide? Weren't the jews caught up within the borders of germany that made their killings possibe?

In ibo case, the ibo army officers killed the nigerian leaders and ibo people in the north used that as opportunity to taunt them which resulted in the pogroms. Biafra was a sovereign state on its own with its own borders that started attacking Nigerian territories of which the backlash caused the death of millions of biafrans.

You people never learn.

To them, everything they do must be accepted and anything you do must be castigated.

They are the only hardworking people, others are lazy

They are the only rich people, others are poor,

They are the only successful people, others are useless.

They are the only educated people, others are illiterates.

They are the only exposed people, others are backward.

The only thing we have not heard from them is that their fathers manhood are bigger than that of others.

All these are borne out of venom of defeat that culminated into hate and inferiority complex.

Where is the disrespect if I may ask? I used to see Yoruba people as our hosts but some people on NL made me understand that there is nothing like hosting here. This is Nigeria and anybody should be free to lead anywhere and at any level. I asked before and I will ask again:

After the civil war, has the Igbos ever risen up as a unit to fight the Yoruba people in either the Lagos state or in the SE?

Has there ever been a time a truck load of Yoruba corpses were brought from SE to the SW for burial?

Has the Igbos ever forcefully taken your lands and started building without paying for the land and land use charge?

Has the Igbos ever disrupted a Yoruba gathering, meeting or party?

Has the Igbos ever destroyed your buildings and mount pressure on the Yoruba people?

We have to get somethings right here..

Now let me ask you here again:

Haven't you heard of cases where dead bodies were brought in from the north to SW for burial due to one religious/election crises or another?

Haven't you heard of cases where Fulani people use their cattle to destroy farms in the Yoruba lands and when the farmers complain, they get killed?

Can you recall what happened in Jos? How the Hausa/Fulani contested for a post, lost it in 2011 and started killing the indegenes of Jos? Have the Igbos ever done this? No.

I can imaging what would have become of Lagos if the Hausa/Fulani had this same population Igbos have here in Lagos and has not yet produced a governor.

You of all people know that nobody is safe in the north except if your Hausa or Fulani Muslim. So no point talking about smiling to the bank in the north. Your peeps who have travelled to the north, if truthful, will give you a low down of how they are treated in the face of slight provocation.

And I ask, how have you people reacted to all these? Why are the less troublesome and less violent tribe now tagged the devils?

You are not far from the truth here, the entity called Nigeria is actually sitting on a time bomb and might go off soon.

Hypocrite at work here, you complain about people insulting your Igbo people but yet you turn around and backbite Fulani people.

You can easily defend your own ethnic group without including another in your pathetic argument.

Marriage in Igboland is a very serious business, its not something spontaneous two lovebirds that met inside BRT and started singing love on FB and Instagram.

Don't blame them, you guys don't know how to marry women, your too promiscuous and always think the woman must overlabour herself to feed the man.

I wouldn't even let my daughter do that anyway, its not their fault they are very caring parents who are trying to protect their children from "had I know"

It's quite sad that things are turning out like this bro. I felt bad when I read your post but your fellow brothers and sisters are not helping this whole thing. I swear down, Yorubas wouldn't mind if you become a governor tomorrow but the way your people disrespect their hosts is really annoying to say the least.

If Igbos could get rid of this habit, they ll be smiling to their Bank every week with proceeds from all their businesses in the West and the North.

However, having read world history and read extensively about how Sudan and India were splited into two countries; I realise that Igbos are making the biggest mistake of their lives by investing in the West and the North.

Look around you and tell me if there is one Nigeria spirit in anybody, I presumed that your would beNo.

I advised some young Igbo youths here couple of weeks ago about how to keep their businesses in the East for the sake of their future and in case separation and

you got it spot on, there is no oneness in this nation, and anybody investing outside his region is doing so at his own peril. That is why I am taking everything down east. There are some serious massive investments am planning on, and everyone of them will be down east.

OP, he says least who knows most. You didn't need to write on his timeline. I believe the best way to relate is to understand people for who they are and respect that. Not because you are weak but because you are wiser(you understand individual differences and each individual's right to be).

An average Igbo man acts like though he has the best culture and can be really arrogant when you look at him from the point of view of an average yoruba man. But why not see and accept him as he is?

An average yoruba man on the other hand pretends to be liberal, respectful and humble but, he can be really far from his actions. It is very difficult to trust a yoruba man but then know them for who they are and appreciate them for that. Play your cards well before them.

The Hausa man does not believe he shouldn't rule over you; he doesn't value his own life talk less of yours.. That again should be recognised and appreciated.

When we are armed with this knowledge, we should harness it and move forward as a country. When we need to relate with the hypocritical nations, particularly the West, the Yoruba people come in handy. When we need to exact a bit of force anywhere, the Igbos can be of great value; when national interest is to be protected at all cost, like the case of the Bakassi peninsula, the Hausas would be good for the job. The Hausas would not have released that land for any reason.

Other ethnic groups fall in between these distinct groups. It's time to begin to see the seeming limitations of each ethnic group as a strength in disguise.

BuddahMonk:
Marriage in Igboland is a very serious business, its not something spontaneous two lovebirds that met inside BRT and started singing love on FB and Instagram.

Don't blame them, you guys don't know how to marry women, your too promiscuous and always think the woman must overlabour herself to feed the man.

I wouldn't even let my daughter do that anyway, its not their fault they are very caring parents who are trying to protect their children from "had I know"

Perhaps the ones I know are Osu..........

Please, go to Karu and Apo villages in Abuja to see your sisters in their stupidity and ignorance, you ll cry as an Igbo man.

Your twisted account of history is d reason u pple always make baseless arguments.

1. If u had any indepth knowledge abt d holocaust and anti-semitism u'll undertand wat l'm saying. I dont have the time to start teaching u abt it. Just know the holocaust had more to do with a long history of hate than world war two.

2. Igbos never taunted any anybody. Ask anyone who lived thru dat period and they will tell u dat Igbos were the only fully integrated tribe in Nigeria. That propaganda was made up by elements in the north who wanted revenge for the killing of their revered figures. They used it to whip up sentiments among northerners. This is exactly why some Igbos were bitter abt oba's threats. Such statements from pple like him can set off a conflagration nobody can douse.

3. Biafra never declared war on anybody. Rather after her declaration of independence, Nigeria attacked. The Biafran expedition to capture Lagos came at the behest of a yoruba officer, Victor Banjo. Banjo wanted to force his pple to join the secession and bring a speedy end to the war. Before then, Ojukwu never for a day considered adding yorubaland to Biafra.

Biafran was conceived to safeguard pple of the then Eastern region and not become a rabid dog of a state.

I can only u point in d right direction. Its left for you to make use of ur brain.

Prior to that above posts, I personally sent my first message to his inbox to warn him from disrespecting and promoting lies against my people and of course my highly placed King (Oba Akiolu) and i moved on. I didn't say anything bad to him in my first response until I saw all sorts of rubbish on his Timeline against Yoruba today.

The fool got upset today cos I did the same thing to him but on his Timeline.

So sad ,but between the yoruba village head who made that divisive and provocative statement and the ever enterprising igbos, who is a bigot? learnt the oba is a retired police officer. if at his level he could say that, it really goes to show how tribalistic an average yoruba could be . still believe that the oba was high on something .
