Hmm. My biology is a bit scruffy, but I think it has to do with the complexity of the male hormone called testosterone, neurons, brain impulses which is the primary fulcrum of the whole reaction of 'I must look', 'how is the shape', 'hope the nips are not inverted' etc etc. .
