CheeNayNay: Mother tongue or not, English has come to stay. Mother tongue is the problem we are facing in Nigeria today. Think about Nigeria with only one General Language? hopefully 'mother tongue' will fade away. 'Pigin' or Correct English will be our General Language. 1 Like |

spellingcheck:on the contrary, mother tongue is the pride of the people, our identity and cultural heritage.it is not nigerias problem though i understand your points. I totally agree that pidgin english should be our general language too 1 Like |

iiiyyyk: Yes it does sir. English skill is necessary in an English speaking country like Nigeria. If we was in France, Germany or japan, i'll still correct your sentence structure. English is our first language in Nigeria. 1 Like |

CheeNayNay: we can have different culture but still speak one general language. But unfortunately, English is our first language. Even though am fluent in 'OKPE' i still might not graduate if my English is poor. Lets just Embrace the fact that English is our first language. Every other languages remains a Second language. |

The problem is that people still use corrugated iron to roof buildings. If ceramic shingles are too expensive, then buildings need to start having cement rooftops, which is what makes this city look clean: 1 Like |

/ $2000 = N390,000 And the article said one can rent a 3 bedroom flat in Enugu for N390k/month. This alone tells me that the article is not well researched and therefore declared null and void. \ 3 Likes |

spellingcheck: Actually, you are wrong, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba are recognised as national languages and the constitution and some other important documents have been translated into these languages. Furthermore, English is only the official language de jure, Most Nigerians cannot understand and do not speak standard English. 1 Like |
