With due respect, I disagree with the bolded part of your post.

Tell me Igbos are industrious, I will agree. Tell me they are adventurous, I will agree. But tell me they're relatively peaceful, it is hell no.
Igbo people are relatively peaceful. They rarely start any trouble.

Visit places like Benue and Plateau and they'll tell you the REAL trouble maker s in Nigeria. Has an Igbo man ever killed multiple Yoruba in Lagos because he was denied accommodation?

At least every 2 days people are attacked in their homes by Fulani herdsmen for fickle things like missing cows. Even in my school here in Abuja, those people enter the female hostels to r-ape girls. Has such ever happened in Unilag?

I repeat, you all have NO idea how good you have it in Lagos.

The assessment is based on my personal experience with few I have had the opportunity to relate with. I can agree with you if you have a contrary view based on your broader experience with them. They don't usually foment trouble outside their region, maybe that's why I have not seen the trouble-giving part of them.

I do know that they're not that hospitable/welcoming to outsiders and domineering- no one can dispute this about them. But troublesome? I doubt.

I spent more than ten straight years between Warri and Asaba where I had a lot first hand experience with Igbos.

Sorry brother but the Igbos cannot be said to be relatively peaceful.
just like I thought, so Delta state now has now become 100percent igbos, when I used to say dat an average yoruba if u re not Yoruba, or hausa/fulani, then u re igbo.

Nice one my sister. You are deep. Waaaaay deeper than Chimamanda sef.

I had this discussion with someone on my way to work today but hey, you have put it in proper perspective.

Im not Yoruba but you know I think people have over exagerrated this issue and acted like there is no human angle to the story. The Oba or Obi or Emir of a land is also human and is fallible. Many of us that are not from Lagos have taken the acceptance and the general freedom we have to live and stay in Lagos. But we need to give kudos to the Lagosians because if they want to be nuisances to us they can. It is not fair to call someone else's home no man's land.

Story! Lagos remains a no mans land. Who are the lagosians and how many percent of the population of the lagos do they makeup? Abeg leave story

An average Igboman will only react. Keyword is re-act. They hardly start fights or go looking for trouble.

Asaba is predominantly Igbo. We have Igbos in Warri and in all other cities. Are you saying I can't differentiate between an Igbo man and an Itsekiri, Urhobo or Ijaw?

Probably. It appears bragging and chest-beating are a way of life amongst Igbo's.

I was watching an Igbo movie the other day. Uche Ogbodo insulting a guy who was chyking her. BurĂº carton gi'a puo m nuzo (referring to the guys Honda hala) damn hilarious. Out of the 10 sentences she made 9 were laced with insults. Igbo to Igbo its cool (Ima njakiri) But to other tribes its offensive.

The other day it was Igbo's protesting in an Indian suburb. Same thing in South Africa. I think its time our Eastern brothers did a soul search. There must be something fundamentally wrong.

This is not to paint the whole tribe with the same brush though. There are well meaning people amongst them

Thank you for your civil post.

The bold part is true, I agree with you. A lot has to be done to check this. The problem with my people is that they don't like to hear the truth, when you point out certain facts to them they shout you down and call you all sorts of names. Some even called me a Yoruba boy recently.

Life is not all about shouting and anger; it could be much better. I think a lot of people are still very bitter because of the civil war. i myself get sad sometimes when I read those books and think about all that happened but we must move ahead. there is nothing we can do about yesterday but we have today and the future ahead of us. You cannot move forward when you are weighed down by bitterness and hate. Not all of us are like this though but I pray that the majority of the bitter ones find the will and strength to come out of it. cry cry

Have you even made any sense now?

In Dubai how many of the people are indigenous to Dubai make up the total population? Even in the US what is the population of native americans? But nobody has gone there to say no man's land. So because of uncontrolled migration to Lagos we should now behave like the land belongs to everybody.

Is Onitsha or Kaduna or Benue no-man's land too? Can you go there and call those places no man's land?

Then I believe Anambra, Onisha , Enugu,Abia and some other Igbo commercial State are no mans land too, since All Nigerians from all ethnic group reside there.... I am from the Niger Delta....I will not support what is bad... please... do not do in another man land what you know you would never stand or tolerate in your own land... please. You are free to travel to Lagos since you are a Nigerian, work and pay to your tax since you reside there... build your house there since you are equally a citizen of the country and other right given to us as a citizens to leave freely in all state of the federation but that should not give you the right tell the indigenes of Lagos that its a no man land... by doing that you are bound to steer up bitterness among Locals of the state...election is over stop all this madness please

Even before reading this shyte, I already told myself that this must have said by a yoruba-dick sucker. She confirmed it a few paragraphs later.

Nne, your surname shows that you are no longer Igbo. Even an osu is better than you. Stop calling yourself Igbo and face your new tribe. Ashawo!

Isn't it an indictment on you that all the places you mentioned are countries and not cities in those countries. Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians and therefore Lagos is for all Nigerians just as Onitsha is for all Nigerians. The Igbos who own properties in Lagos bought the land on which they built their properties and paid exorbitant prices at that. If a Yoruba man refuses or cannot afford to buy or build properties in the East, how is that the Igbo man's business?

Nothing marriage no go cause. Deperation to answer married. Naturally igbo women are conservative and dont dable into politics unless something is wrong as with wat the oba said.

This one is genetically corrupted by the ofe BIGOT she shares bed with, fact.

This is the major problem with our people. If you are an objective person you will notice that she said a lot of truth. Don't let bitterness & hatred blind you.

She has said nothing but placate her husband's people. Did the she goat ask about how all those Lagos developments came about. The finance and the manpower?

If it is yorubaland, let them develop it with their own resources. Why come down to South East and beg for oil?

What do you mean by accommodating? Where you discriminated against? and if yes, how?

Give specific examples unless you are basing your judgement on stereotype and prejudice.
