The greed of Igbos is showing its head again. You guys want to claim SS? so as to lay claims to their oil? Anyways, I have long come to a conclusion about Igbos. 1. They are bluffers. Someone with a small shop selling 2nd hand cloth will claim to be the one feeding his billionaire landlord because the landlord buys rags for his househelp from the seller. 2. They are very very greedy and covetous. e.g Lagos was Yorubaland pre 1999, but once Lagos was improved by Tinubu and Fashola, the influx from the East started. Now they are laying claims to Lagos, even wanting to replace the Oba with an Eze. Give an Igbo a room in your house, and his plans will be to take the house from you. 3. They are not strategic, just lousy noisemakers. While others are planning for the future, Igbos will be gloating and abusing them. When the future comes, Igbos will be the first to line up for the goodies. E.g loss of senate presidency, wanting to be FCT minister, even currently laying claims to APC success. Now the SS is their brother. The same SS they were ready to wipe out in their ill advised war of 1967. I can bet 99% of SS people want to form their own identity. In the last election, the SS had more voters than the SE, so why should the SS lose its identity to the selfish Igbos? |

abduljabbar4:^^^Nice idea.....but an even better one would be the disintegration of this contraption, let every group then choose who and who to form a true nation with! The old eastern region have little in common with the north and south west; and if truth be told, these three regions would thrive better giving each other some space either by way of a confederation or having separate countries entirely! |

What is this "alliance" between the South East and the South South? I'm this only happens on this forum. Outside here, in the real world, the South South see themselves as being different from the South East. Even the Ikwerre man that bear Igbo name. The minorities that made up the defunct Eastern Region were happy when Gowon gave them Rivers and South Eastern states. It was the same minority political activities that Ojukwu arrested during the war. |

olapluto:^^^Pray, what business has a Yoruba with goings-on east of the Niger? Why get so emotional over talks of cohesion in the old eastern region or our forming a common front to face shared challenges or pursue common goals? I just don't get it! Instead of being satisfied with your APC/Buhari win and continuing with your victory party and gloating, you're busy getting threatened and worried over south east and south south talks of political and economic integration.....i don't get it! Your post is dripping with frustration, hate and bile.....and you could do yourself some irreparable mental damage if you continue along this path! What i find curious though is that absolutely no one from your ends is calling for the dissolution of this shithole of a country.....you despise Igbos with an all-consuming passion yet you don't want to live without them!So what if Igbos are demanding for Senate presidency and the FCT minsiter slot? Are you saying that because we supported GEJ (which we'd gladly do a million times over) that we shouldn't make our own demands on the in-coming gov't? Is the in-coming gov't going to be one just for the Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani or for the entire country? It's for us to demand and for Buhari/APC to reject.....simple! You really need learn how to mind your business mate! |

OrlandoOwoh:Johnson you have started again. I don't know why anything that has to do with Igbos or Niger delta gives you a hard ön. It is this kind of desperation that made you go around the forum claiming to be an Itsekiri when you are infact from Kabba Kogi state. Nobody says the South South and Igbo are the same people, they are only asking for better political cooperation among neighbors. There is no need citing history because as recently as Abacha's administration, Yorubas and Northerners were arch enemies, but today they said they are in alliance, so nothing stops the SS and SE from doing same. Mind your business Johnson. |

I don't know why some people become apprehensive at the mention of SE/SS alliances . To me, this is a manifestation of inferiority complex, jealousy and insecurity. |

omonnakoda:The report of the commission generally ackowledges political leaders agitating (most likely for relevance) but found those fears those allegations of domination were unfounded and false. From the report - 7. “It was suggested (by non-Ibo petitioners) that it was the deliberate object of the Ibo majority in the Region to fill every post with Ibos (in public post and services).….when, however we came to consider specific complaints about the composition of public bodies, we found them in many cases exaggerated or unreasonable.” 12. “That there should be modern streetlight in Onitsha, and not Calabar, was also quoted as example of discrimination; it proved however that Onitsha Urban District Council had financed this measure from their own resources.” 14. “A group of miscellaneous grievances and charges against the Ibos from Calabar may be treated together; we were told that the Ibos did not observe local customs in the markets….We formed the impression that jealousy of the Ibos successes in the markets was the main factor.” |

yemaldo: Jk210: aresa:https://www.nairaland.com/2251676/photos-asari-dokubo-massob-leader You've proven my point. The thing is that without fail it's always another part of Nigeria that comments about the relationship between groups in the east. You even went as far as to comment on what you have no clue. Please, easterners reading, ask yourself why these people are going to such lengths as to talk for regions they do not care about just to prove that easterners hate each other when such an individual cannot tell you the different between Akpa and Ekpe. Now who is really doing attached? Buzz off. |

ocelot2006:Yes oh!! SS and SE are two DIFFERENT geopolitical regions and that would NOT change. |

phantom:You're a fanatic for a political party that is vehemently despised by 90% + of the East so what would you say otherwise? Do I blame you. Agents of disunity. |
| Re: Igbobuofu.com by sCun: 11:07am On Apr 16, 2015 |
ezeagu:Guy, you people are making a mistake again. We can cooperate with ourselves politically and economically without forcing ourselves to be one. We have to give others the recognition they deserve, no need lumping ourselves as one. |
| Re: Igbobuofu.com by omonnakoda: 11:09am On Apr 16, 2015 |
joeyfire:Actually this is not the report but a summary of it a rather uneven one if I might add. I do not express an opinion about the report which generated considerable controversy in its time but post that here just to provide CONTEXT. They are "EXCERPTS" and this is the source http://scannewsnigeria.com/news/willink-report-1958-the-following-are-excerpts-from-a-the-report-of-the-commission-appointed-to-enquire-into-the-fears-of-minorities-and-the-means-of-allaying-them-otherwise-known-a/ It is not true to say it found their fears to be unfounded . That is just wrong. It is important to point out that the report covered the whole of Nigeria not just the East. For reasons best known to the soource they focused on the East . I will reserve comment on that. The objective inquirer will do well to study the actual report and the controversies surrounding it and how representatives of the minorities e.g Ikwerre were chosen or their characterization as "IBO" and the contemporaneous reactions to the report itself. It was typical at the time to say Ikwerre/Etche Now we know there is Etche and there is Ikwerre . It would be dishonest to hail colonial reports that say what we like but then turn around to reject colonial censuses. |
| Re: Igbobuofu.com by ezeagu(op): 11:09am On Apr 16, 2015 |
olapluto:You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about when it concerns the east. Let people from the non-Igbo speaking part of the east air out their gripes and the Igbo will reciprocate, apart from that, you are just here to cause disunity because the region is a threat to you. You probably don't even know what an Obolo or Mbe mbe is. Some of the people you're cursing are Igbo are actually non-Igbo speaking easterners, can you tell which ones. Of course not, because you'll treat them all the same. Thank you for proving my point to all non-Igbo speaking easterners reading. |

IGBOSON1:It's a bloody psychological mess. No one else butts in like this in other conversations. Without fail! We need to sit down in this country and evaluate the psychosis of anti-Igbo (and in extension ant-eastern) sentiment, because it's really a trip! |

ezeagu:Calling all of them ''east'' is making the same mistake all over again. Where is the identity the crave for? This is foolishness I must say. Can't their be economic and political cooperation without lumping all of them together into one 'east'? |

ocelot2006:What boundaries? Sorry, did I say the Igbo were the majority of anything anywhere? |
| Re: Igbobuofu.com by olapluto(m): 11:24am On Apr 16, 2015 |
ezeagu:lol. Wallow in your folly mate. If it makes you happy. Very soon, the SS you are pleading to romance with will put you where you belong. Then they will also become 'anti-Igbo'. Then, rather than address the self-delusion of most of you, you will start to threaten to form a country. According to Godwill Akpabio: 'If war was won on propaganda, Biafra would win many times- Most times they will announce on the radio that in the morning they will capture Lagos, when they havent even reached Abagana'. The only people who do not see Igbos for who they are, are the Igbos themselves. Egolomania will continue to blurr your political future. |
| Re: Igbobuofu.com by ezeagu(op): 11:26am On Apr 16, 2015 |
sCun:The idea that the Igbo people are all in the 'south east' and other ethnic groups are all in Bayelsa and Rivers is an old idea. When you understand how interconnected everyone, and that's everyone in the east is, you would understand why I would use the term easterner. Why would Ndoki be in a different region from Obigbo, or Egbema be straddling two separate regions in Imo State and Rivers States. Can anyone even define the south south? The 'south east' and 'south south' has done little politically, if you look at recent events you will see that it's an eastern political force that has emerged. |

Once again I posted that for a reson whih eludes you. I consider Willinks to be largely inaccurate a discredited but it is important for contemporaneous context. e.g WILLINKS SAID EASTERN NIGERIA was 98% Ibo either he was dishonest or misled |
