I have not in anyway condone the south africans that kill foreigners, it is condemnable, bu truth is it is a minority of them. What happened at the MTN taxi rank was not xenophobic two men were fighting and others interfered.
Blacks all over the world are wicked, ijaw man will kill an itshekiri man over oil and land, some people here feel am successful and dislike my guts for no reason, some people can kill me now for just posting my view and now feel he is better than a xenophobic SAcan.
It is sad sha, SA has the highest number of immigrants in Africa if itt was Nigeria we will do worse. Within ourselves we kill ourselves. Abeg make I bone we Nigerians are haterrs
we will never do worse.. the worse that will happen we will complain and the goverment will have to send them parking and not us taking law into our hands by killing them...South Africa Has this animistic tendencies toward their African brothers.. if you feel your country is overwhelmed with refugees then take to the street and demonstrate peacefully with plat card to show your grievances... no body and i repeat no body should justify the killing of harmless people without any provocation from them...these victims are women and children inclusive.. and yet some Nigeria would justify this nonsense...we must condemn this act of violence of innocent souls just because they came to your country seek refuge that does not mean they should be killed like flies...Some Nigerian are natural selfish and self centered that they see nothing wrong with any terrible event as long as it does not come to their door step..no one know tomorrow..that is wht i have to say.

Of course not
The OP is simply stating what he feels is the obvious

Its like the US embassy informing its citizens to avoid some states in Nigeria because of terrorism
it doesn't mean that the US is condoning terrorism if its citizen decides to go to such states and is consequently kidnapped

Another example is this:
-lets say girls that dress a certain way in the night and are in certain spots are typically w.hores
-the cops wrongly round them up once in a while and collect bribe from them or forcefully assault them.
-a descent girl happens to have dressed in a certain way and was at the same spot in the night doing something honest
-the cops came in and descended on her.

The advice here is two pronged
1) Cops should not harass folks
2) Please ladies try to avoid this spot at night, and even if you do, please try to dress differently.

I see nothing wrong with such well intentioned advice

So basically Nigerians and other Africans should not go to SA else they will be killed?

Then these street roamers(as you called them) should come back home instead of putting themselves in vulnerable position. No country in the world wants scoundrels on their streets anyway.

What is their purpose of being in South africa in the first place? To make money I presumed.

However, if things didn't go as planned, let them come back home, otherwise they would constitute public nuisance.

Has any one in UK/US see our brothers washing/valeting cars at these superstores like ASDA/TESCO/SAINSBURY,TARGET, WAL MART ? Chaiii!!! You ll cry ooooo. I cried for real when I saw them in the horrible weather like freezer, washing cars. They didn't know the reason why I was chatting them up. The funny thing is that these guys would refuse to do this back home and I strongly believed that these guys could do better than that in Nigeria

in Nigeria how much do they get for washing cars? #300, now tell me how much you pay them in those places you just mentioned.

I stay in south africa and work there as a professional but the system and ppl are not good. I personally don't have SA dude as friends as I see them as a jealous person, lazy and blame there laziness on other africans,

I work as a consultant in south africa, every there is always an attack against forigners, the reason is always they taken our job, wife and bring crime to SA, all country already have his problem before any migrant come into the country, and as a nigeria or zim who came into SA they always willing and ready to work as they will have to pay bills monthly, expect for those that go for cheap labour, which I don't surpoort.

SA labour law said, 60% of employee most be SA citizen and they complain seeing a foreigner working with them, but they don't see anything wrong when a white SA citizen with lesser qualification and exp get paid more than them due to skin colour, why must SA black pass anger to fellow blacks foreigner national?

Most of the men are bitter when ever they see a foreigner dating the ladies, and not those that date them for paper purpose or club partners.. Nigerians, zim are the most hate foreigners in SA. On dif occasion I always explain to them nigeria is big with huge population and they can't generalized that all nigeria are bad or get involved in criminal activity. In South Africa we have nigerians in all sectors and still they hate us for reasons I don't know.

Is tru the problem is always in the location where mainly blacks stays and some foreigners who can't afford huge rents, once such attack start expect dif behavior at work place.

I decide to come back to Niger till they stop the problem. My life is more importnt thank the work.

Sir, to be honest SA society does not permit foreigners to "hustle". A lot of south africans are unskilled and therefor look for the hustling jobs. I don't think it is fair for a Nigerian or any other Nationality to go to sa and compete with their citizen. BTW the law in SA does not permit a foreigner to remain in SA if you don't have some skills which they call scarce skill or exceptional skills, so if you are living there without such skills you are either an asylum seeker or illegal.
Another set of people allowed to live in SA are business owners an by law your business must worth R5m. They have laws, we must respect their laws

Well, the government has to play a big role here. There are many countries especially in europe that do not let you get even the most menial jobs if you dont have a work permit. I am talking of jobs as menial as packing dustbins. So what stops the sa govt to do the same? Now the onus is on the citizens to be able to decipher who tries to get into their lifes just for the purpose of getting a permit. If a foreigner comes to ypur own country and outshines you, then you have yourself to blame and there should be no excuse for that. I really just think SAcans suffer from very thick strokes of inferority complex.

The OP has told a bitter truth but as usual we will always hv pple who will differ. Whether because dey just like to b on d opposing side or sheer stupidity. Its a simple msg, if u want to live in anoda country try and b well schooled/hv a gud paying job. Dont go n constitute 2 nuisance giving ur country a bad name. Shikenan!
Shut up!!!!
Then if i am not schooled and i venture to another land to seek greener pastures I will be willing to sacrifice my neck to my host citizens?
If that is the logic you follow then your own neck ought to have been yanked off your poor head because from your thought process i can deduce than you do not have the "requisite schooling and sought-after-skill" to be in any foreign land.

There is xenophobia amongst the educated and uneducated. The truth is that foreigners generally do better than them and they are jealous. In the rural areas is where they are turning violent and physical but in urban areas you can see the jealousy in the way they speak, act, talk to and treat foreign nationals.

In certain elite professions most of the black foreigners got there by merit but a lot of them(black Sans) got there by BBBEEE(Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment)They are an extremely lazy bunch of individuals and nobody deserves to be murdered like that.

Every foreigner is affected from Somalia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Congo, Ghana etc.

I have a friend whose father was murdered. He was found with his brain cut open from his head. What kind of people does this?

Some of the things they do to foreigners in just sickening

Well there are bad people everywhere. To use the action of a minority to define the whole os SAcans is not fair at all.!

Just like I always stand up against those foreigners that tries to use those few useless 419 guys to define Nigeria and label all Nigerians as fraud stars.

Even in Nigeria, we have people that are worse than xenophobics. Within the last two weeks more than 30 people have been killed due to being member of an opposing political party in River State!. The Oba Of lagos asked people of different tribe to die in the lagoon, PDP chairman in Abia states asked Boko Haram to keep killing them in the north in as much as they dont come to his state! etc etc

Even the hatred spewed on this forum against fellow Nigerian by some few ignoramus can not be compared to any stereotype we face outside the country.

Yet all these does not define us as Nigerians for we are generally good people!

why are some people so insensitive to the plight of fellow Nigerians? while others are even claiming the attacks are rumors. Eyewitness report reaching me this morning said 10 Nigerians where among those killed in johannesburg last night. for the fact they are illegal immigrant does make them lesser human beings, it is them today it might be us tomorrow.

it is so obvious that the black southafricans are bunch of jobless and lazy people. These acts of xenophobia is not about competition, but hatred and jealousy of other foreign blacks is the cause. the jobs are there but majority of them doesn't have any sort of qualification to seek white collar jobs, and are even too lazy do unskilled jobs.

I hope with the advent of change, many Nigerian will reallocate back home and be satisfied with the little they have. As it is now, Nigeria is among the freest place to live on planet earth. Long live Nigeria.

My straight forward and emotive answer would be yes, they should avoid going to places were there is a greater probability that they could be killed

However, I understand that life doesn't work that way, especially when one is also faced with constant life threatening dangers plus economic challenges in the place where one comes from.

So my diplomatic answer would be that those who which to travel to SA should try to gather as much information as possible (positive and negative info) and then use such information to try navigating through the labyrinth that is presently SA.

The people are insensitive due to ignorance mostly. How many of those that have commented are actually living in South Africa. Also not everyone here claiming to me Nigerians are actually Nigerians. As of now Zenophobia is spreading it was only in Durban but it has moved to Johannesburg now. It's really terrible. Xenophobia is here. It may not always be showed violently but there is hate towards foreign nationals.
