It depends on your assessing body. You will have to check the criteria for assessing telecoms engrs.
Thank you Boss.

Make a fresh booking, and cancel the other one

symbian03:
Good morning all. I've got a concern using wakanow for booking and would really appreciate inputs especially from those who are experienced about the subject matter. Considering my very limited time frame, I've decided not to put all my eggs in one basket by waiting for IOM deals. I found a great deal on wakanow.com of which I promptly made a booking. But unfortunately, I wasn't able to confirm my booking instantly using a debit card since my account with balance recently had its Master debit card expired so I opted for the bank payment option. But today is Saturday and I learnt that they have 24hrs pre-booking policy which means you can't book ahead for over 24hrs - how correct is this? And lastly my question is; I've got a friend who is willing to let me use his card to make my booking but I can't change the payment method back to Debit card method which means I'd have to make a fresh bookings. Won't my former booking affect the latter?

@bossladyMo @all I need suggestions.

Thanks.

Good day house please I have a question, I just got a postgraduate research scholarship from university of sydney. I want to now apply for 574 visa. My question is since I finished my msc from a UK university do I need to write IELTS?
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by bjayzeez: 9:59am On Apr 19, 2015
You might need to contact the unis international office.... Different schools have different requirements. I'd advice you take it tho.... You never can tell when it would come in handy.

International Organization for Migration. Try to send an email to: oabikoye@IOM.int. detailing your proposed travel plans. Have you been granted study visa?

I mentioned the wrong person, i needed to quote toluene23:

By asking you to book a ticket, he means you should make a reservation clearly showing your itinerary. The ticket won't be issued it's just a booking that you are required to do. Just contact your travel agent he knows what to do. But please be careful of the decision you want to make so as not to lose money unnecessarily.

Please i need advice and opinions especially from those who are already studying or living in Australia.

Let's assume i have a budget of 2.5million Naira and i got admitted to a TAFE program in a regional area with a fee of about 12,000 Australian dollars annually or less which i will have to pay about 6,000 Australian Dollars and balance up the remaining fee subsequently when i arrive Australia.

And i spen't about 400,000 for my air ticket, visa processing and other arrangements such as IELTS, medical, visa fee etc. and i arrive Australia with the remaining balance of about 1 million Naira. Please what are my chances of working to pay my subsequent fees?

Do you think this idea is feasible in any way?

Living prudently, working and ready to work to the maximum limit during the school breaks that we have unlimited work hours (we work 12 hours here in the UAE), do you think i can take care of myself and be able to save for the fees?

Please pardon my rough estimate, i really need to be in Australia but i'm on a very low budget and it has been discouraging me for a long time. I have a feeling that very soon migrating to Australia will get very difficult based on Naija's reputation. I was shocked to discover last year when i went for a business inquiry at Sri Lanka high commission in Dubai that they have some kind of ban placed on Nigerians.

Please i need all the advice and criticism on my circumstance.

If your program costs 12k dollars, and you have roughly 16k.... Seems you'd be fine.

What a few people have done in the past is to have full years payment, and at least half the second year. But you sound like the program spans for a year...

Best of luck

Please I want to get an info from the skilled migration gurus in the house. For someone who studied Mechanical Engineering but now works in the telecoms industry as a field Engineer, can he nominate as Telecomunications Field Engineer, or will his course of study affect his assestment?

Yes you will get positive assessment from Engineers Australia but not in your nominated skill rather in another skill e.g Engineering Technologist. A friend with similar scenario as yours got a positive assessment but was given " Engineering Technologist", which was different from Telecommunication Field Engineer he nominated. He studied Mechanical Engineering from Unilag and had more than 10years of experience in Telecom industry as a Field Enigieer.

Congrats on your scholarship, I bet you are really smart. I guess you wouldn't need IELTS any more since you have already scaled the hurdles of admission and scholarship application. I did my MSc from a UK university also, however IELTS was a requirement for admission and scholarship but not for 574 application.

Why do people buy tickets through wakanow when you can easily buy directly from the Airline's website, usually at a cheaper rate. If you must use wakanow, you should only use it to compare prices before proceeding to buy from the airline's website.

Start by assessing your skills with vetassess, then after a positive assessment, you lodge your EOI on the immi.gov.au website.

Drop your email, have a lengthy email I could forward to u.

For the IELTS.... You may not be able to claim points if less than 7....

Find below the info on Engineers Australia regarding that. You can always check for any information on their website.

Current assessment turnaround time
Regularly updated advice on the dates of applications under current process may be sought by sending a blank email to msastatus@engineersaustralia.org.au with the sole word 'Status' in the email subject line. You will receive an automatic response.

Generally, for:

Non-accredited qualifications – turnaround is currently about 13 weeks from the date of receipt. Note this time can be highly variable depending on numbers of incoming applications
Accredited Australian and Accord qualifications – currently about 11 weeks.
Please do NOT contact Engineers Australia within these timeframes, as it will further delay processing times for all applications.
