Jennifer4christ:
Good day Nairalanders...

My name is Jennifer and I reside in Owerri, Imo state.
I am a school certificate holder with little hope of tertiary education.
Someone advised me to open a Nairaland account and ask for help, so I'm new here.
With the assurance I was given, I promise to testify here, if I get my breakthrough from Nairaland.

Why I came writing this now is because I lost my job as a cleaner at one of First Bank branches in Owerri.
The area manager came to our branch 2 weeks ago and after a series of complaints about almost everything that day, I was relieved of my job.
It still beats my imagination why I was singled out to be sacked.
Why me?
Why just me?
I still can't bear it up till now, since I fend for myself.
The money I have with me is fast running out and I desperately need a job from a good samaritan reading this now.

Please, if anyone can help me get a good paying job or connect me with someone who can give me a good job IN OWERRI, IMO STATE, I will forever be grateful.

I know this is risky, but I need help desperately, hence, I am putting up my number for possible contact and help.
I am not a sex-worker please and I will never be one, I only need a decent job.
So please, I pray no one misunderstands my intentions.

May God almighty reward those who will run to my aid at this frustrating moment of my life, Amen!

My number is 08172982883.
God bless you.
You do not to come to Nairaland to beg for job . Owerri has a lot of opportunities if you are adventurous , you will survive in Owerri . They are a lot decent things you can do in owerri and do well.

What's big deal about what the guy did?
A 47 year old man from Bosnia trekked 3,540 miles (convert that to kilometers) across Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to Mecca to perform hajj in 2012.
Lagos to Abuja along Jebba route is just about 700 kilometers. That's no big deal to a Fulani Man.
Anyway, the analysts should keep on fooling themselves while the guy receiving national recognition.

Yesterday, my friends and I were arguing the possibility
of ' The Lagos-Abuja trekker' to do that trip within one
month. One said it was not possible, that he trekked
during the day and commuted with a vehicle at night.
Another opined that villages are more than 20 minutes
apart, assuming the trekker rested at every village.
Another of my friend said he trekked from Redemption
camp to MFM (Lagos-Ibadan Highway) and it took him
practically the whole day. I laughed!

I reminded them that our grand-parents trekked a great
distance. My grand-father trekked to Lagos from my
village (Ivbiaro, Edo State) in three days without maps.

My analysis:
Lagos-Abuja can be plied through two major routes:
Lagos-Ibadan-Ileife-Akure-Akungba-Ibillo-Ogor
iMangogo-Okene-Lokoja-Abuja which is about 800km
and Lagos-Ibadan-Ogbomosho-Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa-Bid
a-Suleja-Abuja (737km)

The trekker plied the second route which is rarely used
by transport vehicles as this road is in a deplorable
state. However, this is the optimal and best route to
Abuja.

Assuming our trekker trekked a distance of 50km daily
during 6am-6pm (12 hours), his average speed will be
4.166km/h or 1.1574metres/sec. The average walking
speed of an adult is 5km/h. So our 'trekker' is in line
with his walking speed.

Also, if he walked a distance of 50km/h daily, he
should have spent (737km/50km)= 14.74days to reach
Abuja, all things being equal.

Let us assume he spent about 7days extra to rest and
recuperate for the journey. That means he should have
used about 22days to reach Abuja.

Thus, Mr Trekker reached Abuja in due time!

Let us assume he walked at approx 6km/hr in the basking sun without taking a break, he would cover just over 70km in 12 hrs. Lagos to ibadan is not less than 130km

Story story story maybe the Robbers gave him 200N and a ride. If most of you have travelled through all this route, you will agree with me that the hills alone in some of this places will take someone Weeks to overcome with Legedise benz.Anyway he don make history. It is one of APC usual propaganda.

I see some peeps saying we shouldn't analyse a false claim.

If he were to be cycling one would have tried to consider

Besides, nomads can stay in one location for days or weeks b4 moving.

Lagos to abuja on foot in 3weeks is the biggest joke. I'm not surprised tho cos it was APC inspired.. You know what I mean grin grin

Suleiman Hashimu, will no doubt enter the Guiness Book of Record as the first man to trek from Lagos to Abuja.

‘The Traveller,’ as he is now been called, had vowed to walk from Lagos to Abuja if Muhammadu Buhari won the 2015 presidential election.

Hashimu arrived Abuja yesterday evening after trekking for over three weeks.

Hashimu, a native of Katsina State, said he was in Lagos when Buhari was announced the president-elect of Nigeria, so he left Lagos at about 5am the next day and arrived in Ibadan around 6pm.

Narrating his ordeal to newsmen upon his arrival in Abuja, Hashimu said he had gone to get a police report at Ibadan to allow for an unimpeded journey, but that as he could not wait for the processes to be completed, the divisional police officer (DPO) gave him his phone number.

The journey man said when he first embarked on the journey, many persons discouraged him, especially family members but he never gave up.

He told journalists that in Ilorin, people accompanied him for several miles until he stopped at Oloru, where he received much hospitality in Jebba. He said unlike other villages, he met people who had heard of him.

He further explained that about 20 people set off with him from Jebba and after some miles, 18 turned back, but the other two were more strong-minded and followed him.

The Traveller narrated how they encountered armed robbers close to Mokwa, but that, fortunately, he had already met one of them in Jebba and the would-be robber ended up giving him N200 for ‘pure’ (sachet) water.

Hashimu said he continued his trip from Mokwa to Kudu, then from Kutigi to Bida, and then to Suleja, after which arrived in Abuja yesterday.

Upon his arrival in Abuja on Monday, many residents were already waiting to receive him.

When residents of FCT saw him, the chorus of Sai Buhari rented the air.

Unconfirmed report said a top politician had already paid for a room in Transcorp Hilton where he would lodge.
