I don't get why some insist on jumping at the OP. Any sensible & knowledgeable individual should immediately realize the difficulty in cataloguing Igbo speech forms. It's not something that can be done in a single forum post. The foregoing statement would then imply that the overwhelming majority of posters here are either insensible or lack knowledge about the subject-matter. |

Ikwerreboy: Sometimes it is necessary to re-read an article to properly understand it. Not everyone has the ability to read and understand first time. The op did not mention ikwerre as a sub Igbo group, rather as an Igboid group which is indisputable. Let people from the non- ikwerre groups you mentioned come and counter the inclusion of their groups. Btw who did these your migrant ancestors marry? Who did they meet in the land you presently occupy? common sense would point to them having met the people whose language influenced theirs, right? Let that sink, then pray, tell me how you own the land you claim if you are self-confessed migrants. |

Ikwerreboy:I was going to avoid the Ikwerre topic until I saw this wannabe post. Abeg, just want to warn una. This is nothing but a Yoruba guy third multiple ID. How do I know? When he first opened this ID, I asked him one simple question which a real Ikwerre would have known. It took this nigg@ nearly 30 mins to locate the answer and even then the answer he gave was wrong. I gave him another chance and he still failed the answer again and resulted to asking me to give him the correct answer ![]() Here's the link and see what transpired b/w me and this wannabe https://www.nairaland.com/1578450/not-biafrans-gov-amaechis-insults/25 Believe this guy at your own peril. I already know some SE Igbo will but know that when others suspected who this ID belongs, this Ikwerreboy account went comatose since 2014. Only to surface recently to start another Ikwerre vs. Igbo thread. Pathetically for him, that one was equally ignored. I guess he decided to seek attention on this one. So I am going to tell una, Ignore the ediot and like earlier, he'll rest this ID and go back to his original one or seek another way for attention. Who knows, you can never predict that pathetic, disgraceful tribe. |

Lets assume that ikwerre are from benin, which is a travest can you give us archeological and linguitic evidence of that notion, this is a smart age so we should think smart not foolishly, mind you that i am not disputing ikwerre migration either from igbo mainland or benin, which is not far but what i want is SIMPLE ARCHEAOLOGICALAND LINGUISTIC EVIDENCE now let me give you how linguistic evidence work, some dutch came all the way from europe and settled in africa another continent, they inter married and have a variation of language which is AFRIKAANS and its a dutch language with african flavor, now another one is the igbo in Equitorial Guinea that sourjourned there centuries ago, till today they still maintain their pristine form of igbo and bear igbo names and that place is far,now another instance is the olukumi that is in asaba they migrated from yoruba land but have been igbonized yet go there today they still have yoruba lexicon in their igbo flavor...these are pointer NOW WHAT IS IKWERRE LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL POINTER TO BENIN MIGRATION? pls dont tell us my papa say, one old man said, we are in an intelligent age, please give us some scientific ,archeological, cultural or even linguistical fact or pointer to this IKEWERRE BENIN THING Secondly why are you in IGBO thread does it point to affinity or curiousity maybe stupidity of complexitiy of psyche.....I am waiting for this evidence Ikwerreboy: |

I see there are people here posting about Ikwerre. Just to inform you all, anyone who tries to tell you about Ikwerre history and origins while excluding Ngwa is being mischievous. But that's a different topic for a different thread, on a different day. |

Ikwerreboy:Nice one. The truth is Igbos are a bunch of confusionists, liars, selfish and subverting people, they are always willing to generate hatred for themselves from the natives whenever they find themselves. Ikwerres do not bother anyday about Igbos but they are dyeing over themselves to have Ikwerre included as Igbos primarily for their selfish desires to covet our natural resources and access to sea. Ikwerre as a group is simply too sophisticated to be a subgroup of anytribe..Igbos should wake up to that reality, |
