Hero of cowards.

I guess that's why those who emulate him always give useless ultimatums, no? Just bark everywhere like toothless bulldogs, the same way Ojukwu said he had the greatest black army in history, yet he gave them sticks and stones to fight, no?

I'm not throwing shots at decent Igbos - we're just having a discourse about who a real coward is. And Ojukwu personified it!

please this thread is about diya and co who betrayed we yorobbers. its so sad that we yorobbers have to live with this mark of cowardice.

you people accuse ojukwu of starting a war and failing to follow through, yet when your crying generals did a coup and was caught, instead of taking it on the chin like Gideon Okar, they introduced to the whole a whole new method of conflict resolution.
[/s]

Diya did not start a coup on behalf of the Yorubas, but Ojuiku of cursed memory was the war commander of the whole Igbos. He was never at the war front, people like Banjo a Yoruba man, the great Achizua, Ifejuana and co fought the real war but the big headed Ojuiku was busy in his house f.ucking ashewo while Adekunle use his kinsmen for shooting practice. When it was time for the coward gburugburu to fight, he dressed like an ashewo and ran away in the middle of the night yet you call him a hero. You need help bro

Stop responding to that troll, the coward had to open a like moniker of Passingshot to post rubbish. He is just like Ojuiku, the coward general of the federation. He is not bold to use his moniker but had to clone a respect nairalanders moniker to post trash. Cowards

Nah, an army officer, especially a war-time general should NEVER flee from the battle-field.

Only cowards do that. You either fight till the end, or surrender.
by ur assertion that means the great French general Napoleon Bonaparte, the founder of Taiwan Chiang Kai Shek and other defeated military leaders who fled or went into exile after putting up a fight AT FIRST...are all cowards

Stop giving excuses to cover up ur pple's history of cowardice. Its well documented and inherent in ur genes.

But did they flee, while leaving their troops behind, at the mercy of the enemy?

How about put ya money where ya mouth is and post academic proofs?

Napoleon was a warrior. Yes, he did lose some wars but he never did an Ojukwu.

Ojukwu, apart from being a coward, who had to hide from bunker to bunker throughout the duration of the war, he fled like a biitch, with his troops and a whole nation left at the mercy of the enemy. That's just cowardly and wicked.

lol....Napoleon fled to Island of St. Helena when defaeted by Wellesly while Chiang fled to Fomosa nw called Taiwan when defated by Mao Ts Tsung. So if they fled...that makes them a coward too??

Ojukwu fled when d war was lost. Captain Nwobosi one of the conspirators during the 1966 coup (he was d one dat killed Akintola) attested that some of the senior officers including Effiong the deputy had to literally force Ojukwu into d plane when Nigerian army was closing fast on the LAST Biafran territory. They saw what happened to Nzeogwu and Ironsi when they were both captured. So Ojukwu is a cowrd because he refused to surrender to be butchered like Nzeogwu and co....smh

Madiebo, Effiong and other biafran officers' grouse against Ojukwu is not dat he fled. It was abt d way d war was conducted. They felt Biafra would have put up more resistance if Ojukwu had been amenable to other war strategies.

Ojukwu is not a coward. There is no yoruba military officer who comes even close to his courage and pedigree.

U pple hate on him cos he did what ur yoruba officers cannot summon the courage to do.

Re: Abacha Offers Oladipo Diya Handkerchief To Wipe Rivers Of Tears by nutarious(f): 4:35pm On Apr 28, 2015
I think what diya did is embarrassing but what he did was heroic, there were over 30 soldiers live at stake had he not come up with such prank, another angle to this is that Diya never knew he was been filmed, he couldn't v cried if he was aware. In general his action looks embarrassing but a good tactics to survival. In fact he insist then that he dint plan anything that he was been setup. He just had to play loyalty to Abacha who is bent on killing him, thank God Babangida came to rescue. In reality, he saved his own life and all other soldiers who normally will be executed.

On Ojukwu, am igbo by paternity but Yoruba by maternity. I think Ojukwu betrayed us, my reasons are, our people invested much in that war while the leader dint invest at all. All his children were flied out and none of his family got hit by the rogues of war. It Got to a time our people started eating dead corpse of fellow IGBOs to survive. All we need then to win the war was food stock, when food issues got involved many people started dieing in masses, soldiers felt weak. Instead of finding solutions he Ojukwu Abandoned his people to the enemy. Now the main point is, if the enemy forces were to come and kill everybody or do a massive wipe out, will Ojukwu still Come back to contest.

A standard law military, u can't backout. U r court martled, like the current soldiers awaiting death for fleeing bokoharam. I do think Ojukwu is a coward, I saw do think Diya too is a coward. But their cowardice consequences are dift, Ojukwu cos over 3million igbo death, diya saved his own people. I really don't think Ojukwu deserve any respect.

It's time our igbo people stop seeing him as a leader, he never really did anytn for us. He brought death and looting all in the hope of taking over nigerdelta oil. That's greed. We need season leaders, leaders that are not selfish

What are you lying for?

Napoleon never fled and he never did an Ojukwu. After his army was defeated - he retreated back to Paris, with his men.

Anyway, if you can read - read this:

After his defeat at the Battle of Leipzig in October 1813, Napoleon retreated to Paris where (due to a lack of support from his military marshals) he was forced to renounce his throne in April 1814. The European powers exiled him to the island of Elba in the Mediterranean. Within eleven months, however, Napoleon was back on the European continent at the head of a hastily-raised army intent on restoring Napoleon to the throne of France. Napoleon's defeat came in June 1815 at the Battle of Waterloo.

This time, the European powers were not going to take any chances on Napoleon's possible return. They exiled him to the island of St. Helena - a barren, wind-swept rock located in the South Atlantic Ocean.

http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/napoleon.htm

Ojukwu was on his own as the biggest coward ever. I remember an excerpt from Madiebo's book about how Ojukwu ran, before the war started, when rumours got to Biafra that the Nigerian troops were coming. Madiebo said Ojukwu didn't come out of the bunker for almost a week, and the war was yet to start then. grin

And he was meant to lead a war. grin

They know all that stuff already... Ogundipe fled before Ojukwu did... even the touted adekunli fled when Biafran teenagers chased him from owerri and on foot he ran like a mad man all the way to Port Harcourt.... he was half naked... this was on Wikipedia and when the man died (wretched of course) they edited and removed that part.. probably from feeling embarrassed... cowards find it difficult to face their fears... so they cry... see the way they have een crying all over this thread? the topic is Diya... and his weeping... but they don't want to accept that his genes are the same they have... so they want to talk of Ojukwu.... the one that was urging their Yoruba Ogundipe to take charge and he fled... like a biatch as they say lol.

Err, don't go the Yoruba route cos if I were to start cursing Igbos, you lot will start crying again, and ya Igbotic supermods will throw their fangs out to ban me.

Let's stick to the topic and compare one degree of cowardice to the other, with Ojukwu and this man as a case study. Comparative analysis.

I don't think Yorubas celebrate him, hence I never heard of him. But I do know Adekunle, the black scorpion, the most revered Yoruba officer. Arguably the best ever product of the Nigerian army - with Gen. Martin Luther Agwai, the great ECOWAS and UN general.

However, on the flip-side, Igbos celebrate the greatest ever cowardly product of the Nigerian army - Ojukwu the Abidjan bandit. grin Man in the mirror, mate.
