So how did you get the 65points exactly? If you got a 7 in ielts? Pls break it down. Or are you claiming partner points or Aus degree?

Do you get points for studying in a regional area also? Could have sworn it was just for Australian study.

Even without that, he has 60! Again, why is he not claiming any migration points from work experience?.... mehn, that profile is so sweet to get 189!

You can get 5 points for studying in regional area. I studied for 2 years in a regional area and I was granted temporary graduate 485 visa (Post study work stream). This has already been confirmed and no further investigation. I have also done the EOI for 189 visa.

Thanks. I foresaw that accountants occupational ceiling would be reached by may after I had achieved my band 7 in IELTS, I had to estimate the time for skill assessment, this made me to select external auditor. I was confirmed by CPA that all 12 core knowledge areas were completed. Although, I have work experience as an accountant and also an external auditor but I didn't want to claim experience on these since I have my 65 points already.

I really spent a lot of money for studying and living in Australia. I am waiting patiently for my invitation. I need to get police clearance certificate from Nigeria and I don't know the fastest and easiest means of achieving this. Any advice on this will be appreciated. Thanks.

You just fingerprint as it is required and mail it back (ground mailing) with other information and that is it.

In other words, you are emailed the form from Nigeria... and u do the fingerprinting on it and complete those other fields and dhl it back to Nigeria... then it is taken to Alagbon for their part and payment and have it couriered back to u.

U have got trusted pals right?

Hello Engineers in the house(NNB2012, gogochocolate et al), i have a question please. When being assessed by EA, what determines the equivalence of your Nigerian degree to either Australian bachelors degree or Associate degree? Is it the duration of your course or the content of your Career Episodes? I am concerned because i need the 15 points. Thanks

1. The course contents of your transcripts: Their depth, relevance, breadth/coverage and how recently updated.

2. You must also write in-depth episodes that accurately capture your work experience and reflect the required demonstrations of competencies, particularly as demanded by EA's structure and outlines. Your summary must also be concise and on point. EA is also very much concerned about CPDs.

3. This is not official or written anywhere. But during a programme I took sometime last year, I was made to realise consideration is given to your school ranking. Is it among the first 1,000 or 1,500 in the world? I can't remember the website we used for this check but I'd look into my materials again.

By the way, this school ranking is used discreetly by all Oz assessing bodies.

How long was your course for,did you apply for another course to make a total of 2 years study(if yes, what visa subclass ) before applying for the post study visa?

Thanks Manmeta for your indepth explanation. I obtained my Bachelors from Obafemi Awolowo University, ranked 2nd in Nigeria, 14th in Africa, 1791 in the world by Webometrics.

Great Ife! I'm also an alumna! I can't remember the website we used to check but OAU was sitting among the top 1500 then (May/June 2014). I was exempted from doing some courses because of this among other considerations.

In any case, this is not the major issue with EA's assessment. Your course contents/transcripts, episodes and CPDs are key.

Great! I can probably rest easy now. I'm confident about my course content/transcript in Electrical /Electronic Eng and my CPDs. I hope my episodes will pull through

The two master degrees were for two years. i.e one master degree covered one year and the other for another year. The visa subclass was 573.

I believe this has been answered adequately by Manmeta. Really, you have nothing to fear as per the equivalence of your Nigerian degree to Australian bachelors degree. Just endeavour to cover all the requirements.
