@Team12 You know, you see some docs on here and you are like-Wow, see packaging. All that is left is the right dose of grace and you will be smiling with you and your daughter's TRV soon. |

Bro, She needent do that-Sincethere is adequate provision for the child(She stated funds to support her education)..That, and the fact that her SO is here in Nigeria shld be enough home tie. |

Team12:Your documents were ok, 2. My advice to,you don't need to rush, you go first, and later invite your daughter, even your daughter will stand as home tie here. |

Exactly, it's almost sure if you go alone, well it's nt bad to try with the child since everything is set. omooba2015: |

@omooba2015 Thanks for your suggestion. I am planning online route. I stated in my SOP that I have no one to leave my daughter with (which is true). If I now apply for her later, won't they wonder why I did not apply for her earlier, what excuse will I give them, won't they wonder who she was with while I was away? I have other home ties though: 1. Hubby 2. I am a director in one of his companies 3. Pension account in Naija 4. NHF account in Naija 5. My hubby's landed property I want to give it a try, since there is enough funds to go round. If I am delayed, I will reapply without her (depending on the reason for delay)

|

Amen o. I have only spent about 2 years with my current employer and you only qualify for study leave when you have spent upto 4 years. So that will not work for me Omonjoe: |

Team12:How is your daughter, any change you want to make don't let it affect your LOI, if you have grand mother she can take care of her. In this tread,I have not seen any body apply with her daughter, they did it separately. Mother first go and later invite the child. Think and follow your heart. You can get visa officer favour. |

Nope! It doesn't work that way. Each firm has it's own policy. I spent 3.5 years with previous employer and have only spent 2 years with this employer. My current employer's policy is 4 years before study leave. omooba2015: |

Team12:Ok... But it compulsory, since you are working. |
| Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by diamondsare4eva: 3:45pm On May 06, 2015 |
Team12:Go ahead and include your daughter. Do not leave her behind. There is no where the Canadian consulate said anything about traveling with or leaving behind a relative is a home tie. They are only concerned about your finances because daycare is expensive and since you are not a resident that will be entitled to a government subsidized daycare, this should not be something you should be worried about once you can demonstrate that you have the means to support yourself and your daughter is enough proof. |

omooba2015:It's not Compulsory!!! Fine, peeps recommend it which helps if you can get it but don't say it's compulsory |

Please I need your input. My PhD program at U of T is fully funded but the funding details are not included in my offer of admission. I contacted the department and I was told funding details would be sent in late July. Start session is fall 2015 so I cant wait till July to apply. The graduate assistant however, sent me an email and gave details of funding packages given in previous years, since I would most likely receive something similar. The funding covers tuition and includes a stipend of CAD15,500. My question is, is it sufficient for me to print out the email and use as my proof of finances? I don't have buoyant account statements to submit. Probably about N1 - 2 million. What do you advice pls? |

I am sure that the VO knows that study leave is not a must have and that it depends on company policy. While I know that it aids your application, I don't believe that it is compulsory to submit one, especially if you can't get it. omooba2015: |
