Feeling alone and unhappy. Avoiding people. The list is endless. The one I hate most is some people feel u are just being lazy. The idiots that say go and learn something as if they will give u money to go and learn. Some will say go and do masters, go and start buying and selling. As if they will give u money. Some will say u are choosy. Another will say start small. Start what small? The major problem is not laziness but background of job seekers. Job seekers who were hustlers in school, people who their parents added no value in their lives, who struggled in school already have that tenacity and will to do any kind of jobs. In Unilag I new girls who fix nails, do hair and the ones that carry aristos for a living. Had no help from family. The ones that carry aristos are d ones doing so well now and travel round the world and get married to one mugu. The ones doing handwork continue after school. While the rest, it's either their parents help them or they just sit and wait hoping for a breakthrough. You cannot compare such people who have been spoon fed by their parents which is actually the right thing to do, to start doing all sorts of menial jobs. We have all forgotten the very basis of going to school. The country wants to turn everybody to a daylight business woman or man. All my friends be make up artist, sell clothes and bags, perfumes, caterers and u say I should also do that and market to this same friends. Not everybody is wired to do business. Not everybody is wired to learn a handwork. Not everybody is meant to work in an office. cry frustration should not be the basis of going into anything. I have never seen anybody do well in something they have no love for......

Dear Sis., I truly understand your point. it's really bad when people see other people as been lazy when they have not gotten a job unless they are though grin. There is something I want us to understand, God has deposited something in each and everyone of us. But, some of us find it difficult to identify and develop it. Probably because some have refused to pay attention to details or start small no matter what it takes. I strongly believe that once you have identified what you can do for yourself help would come, God no be small boi
I encourage you to identify what you can do and like doing, God would definitely send help.
From there bigger n heavier job could emerge!............................... DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR DAYS OF LITTLE BEGINNING

The challenge of unemployment is a severe underdog in the presence of right-positive thinking, determination that knows no setback & persistence that recognises no such thing as failure.

Unemployment is a terrible situation. It scares the living hell outta me. its my worst fear. I cannot just stay and do nothing...dats suicidal.

Although I haven't really experience that much cus of the nature of my Job but I recall sometimes last year when I resigned and wanted a new place to work, I was home for about one month and mehn I felt like dying. SERIOUS Depression, Frustration, and I was always short-tempered.

Funny thing is dat I got 3 offers at once.

My Advice : Success is INTENTIONAL.., you gat to think outside the box. Even if na Minimum wage job u get, start from there. If no job, then try small biz.

I use to tell my friends back then in school " Let get PLAN B now just incase Jobs nor quick come ". No time to dey wait.

I pray that God will surely bless our handiwork in jesus name.

This is the major reason why I decided to venture into businesses first before proceeding to higher institution.

Since my primary school days, this has always been the chorus I usually hear from most post graduates.

But the good thing is that most of the people that lamented those days has a better story to tell today.

The basic principles there is to get the result first couple with the skills, knowledge and experience then you wait until whenever the almighty decides to remember you. Your story will definitely CHANGE for good.

Ciao.

Of a truth the pain of an unemployed can be liken to that of an orpha; diverse temptations, cajoling here & there, name it...
We all had a feel of it at some point & I believe destiny have a unique way of pulling through & that one's blessing is delayed does not mean he's denied... Let's keep hope alive!

Re: The Pains Of The Unemployed by Nobody: 3:14pm On May 09, 2015
It's not easy at all. I'm only in my first year at uni but I'm making sure I leave no stone unturned and I'm grabbing all possible opportunities to make myself employable and increase my value in the job market. Immediately I started university, I signed up for an employability award programme designed by my university, I keep my grades sky high, attend personal improvement/effective communication classes, CV writing seminars, networking events etc.

I also applied to be a student mentor for next year's incoming students and I'll be working throughout the holidays so I can at least have some work experience. Also taking one year off to work before my final year. That way, when I graduate, I'll hit the ground running by God's grace.
