It's not a craze but simply choice.. Yorubaboiy, if you have a daughter and she decides to keep your name because you such an amazing father, why not? I won't mind if she keeps her father's name...... She is free to do whatever she pleases!! Marriage isn't an agreement based on coercion but liberty and happiness.... As long as she is happy, so be it!! 2 Likes |

MrsChima:i took time to give you my review not because i expected to be labelled a dumbass in the process but because i thought you had the maturity to gracefully receive constructive critisism. What you don't know is, men and women are already equal. You and your fellow feminists are just too dumb to see this. Now, about the topic, i retain my stand, keeping your father's surname into your marriage signifies immaturity and inability to submit to your husband. Now, you demand respect. How can you get this respect without showing it first? Your behaviour seems childlish at best. 1 Like |

MrsChima: much as i appreciate the concept of equality, it seems to me that it is not biblical and only convenient. i am not good at my bible and will be open to your explaining how equality is biblical |

Justfollowit: Ah, well, seems your idiocy is without limit. If a replaceable contraption has more value than you who claims to be made of irreplaceable parts, you should be headed to a cliff right now to do the needful. So much for the theory of natural selection. And I'm dumb? You're brainless. |

MrsChima:Go and read the bible verse, you will find out it's futuristic and it will also interest you to know that the women will be willing to clothe and feed themselve, all what they want is to bear the man's name. My friend, you and i known it is happening now. |

She bears my name simple. My wife didn't even think of that, we just went for the change of name and placed it in newspaper, Lo ba pari! I don't think a woman can do that alone, it must be agreed. |

mmsen: You need to articulate better if you want us to understand you better. You added the last paragraph after I have responded to your post Instead of being an asshole and questioning reader's comprehension skills..you need to first make all of your points instead adding after people have responded. I have responded to your original statement which was on point! If you have issues accepting it then that is not my issue. |

if she has made a name for herself before I married her, then no problem. There are some married women who not only ditched their fathers surname, but acquire the husband first and last name as part of their name |

Screws and bolts=robot. A robot would have more value than you who is supposedly made of flesh. You're a disgrace and a waste of space. You don't even have enough value to be a cumbucket. COMPARE If you were intelligent, you would know that robots parts and its software can be replaced yet stay true to its original BUT a piece of a man can never be. COMPARE Timbuktou: No wonder you needed a woman to make you feel valuable . You are irredeemably stup.id Parts if replaceable, may be valuable but can never be more valuable than an irreplaceable part, therefore my conclusion that 'you are stupi.d for comparing a human to a robot' I give up . Your case need Baba God's intervention 1 Like |

Beface: I have read the bible verse and I said the women would bear a name of a married man just to be married. What you just said is redundant to what has already been said and applied. 2 Likes |

And they say Islam is evil yet they keep adopting Islamic ways. Before you quote me, go and ask people who know more about Islam first. |

MrsChima: Now you are lying - I didn't add or alter anything. Either you cannot read or you did not read it properly. What I wrote was very clear and very concise. It's not a difficult concept, like I said, your reading comprehension might not be up to scratch. You used the word 'choice' and I used the word 'may' but you simply repeated what I said whilst claiming to say something different. Just accept that you were in a rush to argue a non-existent point. |

Beface: If you were smart enough you would have never bothered about what I have written or about what it insinuated and we won't be wasting our time Nope, I used 'dispose' bearing in my mind lots of likely situations for example a man who marries another woman or hold his mistresses in higher esteem over his wife |

Hollamydey:It's only 'bush' boys, local champions and insecure folks that will have issue with that. For the record, a married woman has all legal right to retain her fathers name after marriage if she choses to. I did my wife's change of name and retained her surname without being asked to. However, i think it's not proper for a lady to be yelling 'i have the right to keep my fathers name'.. It would be better she tell her man that she will like to retain it. 2 Likes |

Didnt d man leave his father n mother also to cleave to d wife. If so he should leave his surname. There is notin wrong in her adding her surname. It even retains her identity even as she is married. sagitarius: |
