Don't see any reason why I have to declare all my asset. My agent said I should declare at least the amount for wify and 2 children, about 13500aud. But I intentionally added more to take care of the flight. SVP does not need to show financial statements unless you have dependents. Take care

God is indeed faithful and I'm grateful to everyone for the advice, encouragement. May you all receive answers to your prayers. Visa was granted for me, wife and 2 children. Launceston-Tasmania, here I come.

During research on skilled immigration I saw both skilled independent and skilled sponsored. it was written that u can apply for skilled sponsored when u don't meet up the points for skilled independent. they said u can either be sponsored by a relative resident there or a territory in the government. I want to know if u have any info about this to help clarify my confusion on how u can be sponsored by a relative.

A relative can sponsor your 489 visa. You should read up on the immi site. Just Google 489 family sponsored. But you need to have family in certain designated areas.

I heard you had a bit of snow down in Tasmania, and that the weather is in the single digits....I don't envy you guys o. It's about 15degrees here in Townsville, very windy...not exactly enjoyiong it. It's like someone has the AC on the coldest, then directed a high powered fan at me.

We do have snow on mountains very close to us but not in the city. Right now it is 7 degree. .quite cold! Another issue is the wind and breeze from the sea..they make the coldness very penetrating...for Africans and Asians, it is weird!

Izykvision0 where are you o? It's like onshore applicants are the ones enjoying now. I was really worried when my application changed back to application received 2 days back...guess it was a good sign.

There was no delay.. I applied MAY 6, and I got my visa grant MAY 13. Yes I did my medicals bfor I applied.

After the wedding, did you do newspaper advert of change of name? If you did, include it in you application with your marriage certificates. And yes you can apply for Svp or any other kind of visa with your wife so long as you have enough funds in your account as specified by DIBP.

Not really. The processing time has reduced drastically, even though they still advertise 3mths. 189 now take about 60 days too. Only a few cases take 3mths and longer. Onshore has no priority over offshore.

I think it will be better to have a change of name done in the newspaper in the next one week and apply together with her. It will go a long way to help you in respect of your finances (unlimited number of working hours for her) and keeping of your marriage. The visa may also be delayed when you apply later solely for her (5-6 months I presume: Not sure).

Well, it's actually a provisional visa...but they mostly categorise it under temp...it's the grey area between perm and temp. The annoying thing about the visa is that you can't get any financial institution job with it...neither can you get a permanent govt job.
