Re: MTN Operations To Crumble Because Of Fuel Scarcity by bandely(m):
The lackadaisical attitude of many Nigerians as related to
social issues is quite appalling to say the least. I remember
when we were faced with issues in UI, with protest a means
of addressing such issues, some folks would tell you that
they can't be bothered. In their parlance, they will utter
words such as "Is it not just a small amount of increment, I
can afford it", "Please I didn't come to school to protest".
The same is the case for an average Nigerian who feels that
once he has the cash to buy it, then everything is alright. For
daring to go ahead and call for a change, especially through
protests, he would refer to you as jobless! This i-dont-give-a-
damn disposition of ours has made things reached its lowest ebb.
A Nigerian man sees no reason to protest or viciously hold
those at the helms of affairs responsible for epileptic power,
afterall he has 'I better pass my neighbour" and he can
afford to fill its tank.
Today, the situation is dire, there is neither the electricity
nor the fuel to power the generator. It is dark over here, but
not lovely! I must say that the maxim of "not my business"
must never be extended to social issues because, just as one of my favourite artiste, Asa "one day the river will overflow, and there will be nowhere else for us to go. And we will run, wishing we had put out the fire" Indeed there is fire on mountain, I can only pray that President Muhammadu Buhari has enough resources to put out the fire.
