pickabeau1:the point of the thread is/are 1) ladies need to lady up and demand fertility tests from their prospective husbands just as they demand from them. 2) TTC couples need to understand that the man is as much a culprit as the wife so the pressure needs to be reduced on the wife. 3)general education of the public. Just that many of them may not read it or be on NL. But this information needs to be out there like polio vaccination. The ignorance is high. We always hear about barren women but hung like that for the impotent men. Even when the wife is fertile and the man is sterile, she's termed a barren woman. The local person out there needs to know that anyone could be responsible for childlessness in a marriage Should I continue? |

Nigeria is messed up. The generator fumes, dust everywhere, poor diet, lack of goodhealth care etc. Most times outdoors or in the market I find myself gasping for air. All these have effects on overall health of people. People should try as much as possible to go for check up once a while and eat food meals. Esp vegetable and fruits . It's cleanses a lot and boost your immune system. Most Nigerian men don't like going for check up. Always petronizing "chemist". Pls people should take their health seriously. |

Still going though the thread. However. I have been privileged to work in many fertility counselling clinics all over southern nigeria and Kwara. For the majority of men it is almost an act of War asking them to come for fertility tests. The usual scenario is that the woman comes first and then we insist the tests won't continue until she is accompanied by her husband. Same with HIV screening tests and counselling. Reason might be traditional i.e men feeling they have nothing wrong with them and that the issue lies with the women. But most times it appears the men just don't have the time to take care f thier own health. They are usually busy at work and only agree to come when the counselling unit sends them a formal or informal invitation. It is the same with most other kinds of illness. Men are poor health seekers while women come to hospital at the sign of the littlest headache. Most of the factors leading to infertility in women have to do with infection. Long standing pelvic infections, blocked tubes etc etc abound, but usually the main cause stems from infection. And this is relatively easy to treat when caught early. For the men however, their bad lifestyle habits contribute to poor fertility e.g drinking, smoking, multiple sexual partners, travelling long distances wearing tight pants thus exposing the testes to inhumane conditions etc etc all contribute to making the man more prone to having low spérm count and hence increased risk of infertility. The interesting thing though is that it is usually easier to treat an infertile man than an infertile woman. But that doesn't mean men shouldn't present themselves to the doctor when there is a case of infertility among the couples. In fact, being the head of the house, he should lead by example and be the first to see the doctor to know if the problem is coming from him. ****goes back to reading **** |

5minsmadness:I find it strange that a husband would not go for check ups when they are ttc. Common sense should dictate they both go for all tests So they know If the problem is with the husband /wife/none. Infact, hospitals should stop treating wives/husbands who come alone; it honestly defeats the purpose And I do not buy the excuse that the men areally busy hence they cannot go for check ups. Some hosiptals work round the clock and on the average, men and women work same hours here. |

Anyway you look at it, women are still the reason for high rate of male infertility if we are to believe the suspicious statistics from the end time marriage counsellor and co. Take a look at two causative factors like Alcohol and Sexually transmitted infections (stis). Look at somebody like Kilode for instance who fvcks sorry infects three guys at once during her foursome with guys. Do the maths. 3menx365 days. That is more than 1000 men from one single woman. Now that she has commenced advertising her services on Naira land that number is bound to increase. Again she sucks unwashed assholes for a living. Now she kisses sorry kills those three men with the same mouth during her foursome Group Intimacy premium action time. Just imagine the number of men only she has already infected. We know women are more prone to toilet infections due to the nature of their sexual organ and because the average woman by far has more sexual partners more men than women are therefore affected and subsequently develop fertility issues. How many do not know that many men in a bid to escape from quarrelsome and abusive wives at home are driven to beer parlours where they take to alcohol? So in the final analysis, women are the driving factors behind higher rates of male infertility these days. |

bukatyne:What you are advocating for here is that the woman should suffer for the decision of her husband. Is that fair? It is better to treat one of the spouses than not to treat either of them at all. |

cococandy:Do you have experience in this field? I do. I'm not just whistling dixie. I'm telling you facts. Check out the hypertensives and diabetics and rheumatism and arthritis and occular deficient patients. On average, MEN ALWAYS PRESENT LATER THAN WOMEN. Its not just a fertility thing, its a general health issue. |
| Re: Bombshell As Fertility Study In Nigeria Shows Male Infertility Rates Higher by Nobody: 9:27pm On Jun 01, 2015 |
There are many women in Nigeria who conceive easily the first time and unable to conceive subsequently If from pelvic inflammatory diseases and the woman is faithful, most likely they could have caught some stuff from philandering husbands who catch gono and chlamydia and pass it on to unsuspecting wives. ( of course other sources exist) Well most women have no symptoms or very mild symptoms of gono so when you infect them and don't tell because you don't want your cheating known, you are inadvertently rendering her infertile. |

Yes I have experience in the field. I have enough experience to know that men dilly dally when it comes to checking their reproductive and sexual health even in the face of infertility. They prefer the wives undergoing all the checkup and no men aren't busiest species on the face of the earth. So that excuse is moot. Ngwa move along. 5minsmadness: |

For the men who refuse to be tested, many of their wives in order not to be called barren and harassed by mothers in law and other relatives, they just go and carry belle from outside and everyone is happy. ![]() Who is checking? It's only when the baby looks like a known man that tongues will wag A smart woman so inclined knows to find a man that somehow resembles the husband in general features She will be a fool to be yellow sisi with yellow husband and messing with a man wey black like Tiimaya and Duncan Mighty or have a good looking dark and handsome hubby like Chidi Mokeme and be messing with somebody wey dey like bola tinubu |
