My name is Eyitemi and I am 22 years old. I am a university undergraduate and I am living with my elder sister who is married with two kids. My elder sister is married to a very wonderful man whom most women will cherish to have as a husband, but somehow she doesn’t seem to realize it. My sister’s husband works offshore and so for most part of the year he is usually not around. However, when he is around, he will always want to maximize the little time he spends with his family. He is what you will call a perfect husband if anyone can be referred to as perfect. He is handsome, loving and above all a God fearing man, but my sister on the other hand is a direct opposite of the husband. The problem right now is that she has been cheating on her husband for some time now. The thing is that, if it is just one man she is sleeping with, it will be easy to forgive her and blame it on the fact that she fell into temptation, but that is not it. She is sleeping with different men, some of whom are even younger than her. She is always hanging out in bars and different drinking spots around our area and come home late at night drunk, that is if she even decides to come home at all. Sometimes she spend the night out and when this happens she will switch off her phone and tell me to do the same so that when her husband calls, he cannot get in touch with any of us. I am the one that is basically taking care of the home and her kids as she does not seem to care. I am getting fed up with her irresponsibility and it is really affecting me. I have tried to summon courage and talk to her but I can’t because she very much older than me. We have 13 years in between us and she is the type that will not condone such kind of reproach especially from a younger one like me; and our mother is late although our dad is still alive but I don’t know think it is right to tell him that kind of thing. So please I need you to advise me on what to do before my sister destroys her marriage and brings disgrace on our family.

Inform your Dad.
Let him call a family meeting.

She will regret what she's doing later on. And she'll also not be happy with you because you didn't caution her.
Do your bit

Mmmmh...this one is strong.
Talk to your sister, not as a judge or mediator but as a loving sibling. Let her see the angle you are coming from.
You could talk to your dad too, if you know he is someone who can pass the message across without making you bear the brunt.
Don't tell the husband, don't be the cause of someone's break up.
If she does not heed advice, her husband will eventually find out and then, she would have been the architect of her own downfall.
I don't know if my advice make sense, but that's what came to my mind.

Have a heart to heart discussion with your sister. Make her realise that she's giving room to the devil,and she's gradually destroying her lovely home. It's not too late for her to turn a new leave. She has no excuse what so ever to cheat on her hubby weather he works in space or not.

If she refuse to heed to your advice, would suggest you inform your dad about it

OP I will need to see this your Sista for private counselling.


She needs to be put into the right sense which she has lost.

my advice?? Mind ur business. It works for me.. If u cant endure it, then leave and go stay with ur dad, or any of ur siblings... Dont bring trouble for urself
