Anyway, moving on to more important things. Now that the team is obviously coming home, any chance they'll pass through Abuja? Abeg, where's Awoniyi based? Cc lexyman, leecodeman, tbaba1234, mikron, Joseph1013. Y'all help a sister out, abeg smiley

It will become clearer in the coming days. He's not clinched a deal yet so he's coming home. Most of their International flights stop at MMA, Lagos and since he's based in Ilorin, he simply needs to book his flight from Lagos to Ilorin. Abuja does not come to the scene.

My analysia here these boys are not under 20 as claim. The should be around 25 26. Hence the positive thing that should be done is as simple as drafing theze boys to the under 23 and immediatly flying eagles. Because at that point tbey would meet their mate, whom at age a par will contend their power for power. At that point with the familarization of the team they will be unbeatable mark my word! I said this at the very begining. That why awoniyi waa able to score great for the under 23. We as nigerians should clamour their immediate intergration. That how the super eagles will be formed. I repeat this team and the present german senior squard are age braket. The pace of the german team that was played today showed that we Nigerians fielded older player. Its this simple

This golden gen had d chance to rule d world but de n their coaches allowed their own selfish interest to rule over them. Ohhh. I tot we 'll go there to show d world that we're ready for a long time domination-2013-2018(u-17,20, olympics n d senior world cup). But our hopes were dashed-head down. The truth of d mata s that all our indigenous coaches should always be assisted by foreign technical advisers. D same thing wit d SE,SFE... Really sad! God bless Nigeria.

Lady and Gentlemen, lets take it easy on the coach and players. The boys especially have really done well competing at this stage. As i have always said, I have been following d U20 WC since 1985 & i said it that this is nt d best Flying Eagles we have ever produced.

Go to FIFA records, no country has won an U17 WC and 2yrs after won the U20 WC.

As i have always pointed out even before the tourney kicked off , we went to d U20 WC with cadet/ academy players. Nigeria currently does nt have 19 & 20 yrs old dat are playing top flight football in competitive leagues hence we had to parade mostly 17 & 18 yrs olds as U20 players.Age, size & experience are vital factors in d performance of a team which could b partly y Manu prefered d older players and Awoniyi (bc of his size).

Today's game was a simple scenerio of Men vs boys. Germany paraded d oldest average age while Nigeria paraded d youngest average age.90% of the German players are already 20 yrs olds and already playing senior team football in theur respective clubs while 80% of the Nigerian team are 17/18 yrs olds and are still playing for cadet teams (including Yahaya, Iheanacho, Nwakali, Ezeh).

The Germans were superior bc while we paraded mostly teenage cadet players dey paraded young professionals.

GOOD NEWS!: 80% of this squad are 18 or less. That means dey can still play in next U20 (with their real mates). They will have to slug it out with the Emmanuel Amuneke's Eaglets.

It simple means that Iheanacho, Awoniyi, Yahaya, Nwakali, Ezeh, Bello, Muhammed, Mustapha, Idowu, Alampasu can form d back bone of d next flying Eagles. If these crop of boys can sign good professional contracts and improve on their games they will b too hot for any team to hold in 2 yrs time.

I also suggest we keep Manu as d U20 coach. I am sure he would have learnt 1 or 2 lessons from this tourney.I still believe in these boys. We'll hope to see them again in 2 yrs.

lol. Dodge wetin? Wetin be your contributete for this matter?

I've ranted and raved and cursed with every expletives that I could muster during the football match.

In the end.. they fell my hand as i'd predicted and made the same old mistakes that i'd forseen.

As I said earlier.. the buck stops @ the coach's table and unfortunately, e was found wanting once again.

What pained me the most is that this would have been aperfect opportunity for Manu garba to stake a valid claim for the position of Chief coach of the Super Eagles and wrestle it away from the swine that's cuRrently holding that position.

Alas.. he stuck the barrel of the gun to his temple and blew his brains away.

Abeg.. I wan live long. Since i took the day off, i'm chilling alone instead, playing Career Mode on my Fifa 15.

No time mehn!! grin

Ah ah is like u are high oh. wen i said authoritatively dat these boys are in their 25 26 age bracket u are saying that they are still 18yrs. Nigerians i am with these boys and know them. its better we clamour now for th tp be intergrated into under 23 and then super eagles or we shall continue to have heart aches at senior level. He who has ears let him hear. These boys have good understanding and are younger dan most senior national team. they will use their youthful pace. na beg let these boys migrate without hitch oh. na we go use our medium mouth social medium force these boyz. Once again a word is enough for the wise.

Many Garba should be drafted to assist Emmanuel Amunike with Under 17 squad...that is the best place he is currently needed while we look for a better coach to manage and mentor this crop of flying eagle players.

I became a nairalandite on May, 19 cos of this team. It's been a pleasure meeting nigerians from diff part of d nation n world who are passionate about this sport. You 're indeed wonderful. Our boys have don their best n now out- d question now is what next? Where next? N when next? Let us go back to d drawing board n start again since we missed t again. N to administrators I think Garba should not be relieve of his job- i'll suggest that e joins Amuneke for d u-17s-hope de both f dem will bring their head low n strike a working partnership. N To d boys-de should get over this and move on-if few f dem could be added to d foreign pros in d u-23 things will soon be going on fine again cos(a ki fi omo buruku fe kun paje)... Once again thank you all for your unshakabe 8rust in these lads-love u all. Mon ami see you at another thread.

If we indeed fielded older players, then we should have won. Footballers peak between the ages of 25-27. So if our boys are the ages you say they are, they should be at their peak and shouldn't be taken out by a bunch of 20 year-old. I believe it goes beyond age. It is about technical and tactical ability of the players. The technical and tactical abilities that these European kids have at 20, many players in our local league don't know even at 27.

People keep asking why the Super Eagles are not good at set pieces and they blame the coaches like Keshi. But I wonder, will the senior team coach teach old men how to play corners and free-kicks? You learn that at academy level and begin to improve on it as you grow.

Wtf just happened its like im dreaming i saw the game till bout 25 minutes left we sucked plain and simple we had no ideas going forward, what did Iheanacho yahaya Moses do to Manu? Or was he just trying to prove he could win with anybody? I still can't express my sadness im just blabbin i know but i keep thinking about that article the one about getting a foreign coach if Manu fails i made such a fuss about it now i admit i was wrong bring us foreign coach asap please all this ojoro of tryin to get players contracts got to stop i say we get an American coach assisted by the FBI just to make sure no corruption goes on. This was our best set maybe ever too bad they didn't get to play.

So your argument basically is don't lose to Germany in the Round of 16. Just wait till the semi-finals to lose to them. Would that have been better? Losing in the semis and getting a bronze medal or 4th place?
NO, as u remain in the tournament u acquire more experience, confidence, tactic, understanding, etc.

Bro, the gentleman I quoted said Germany will not lose any match in this tournament, which means we will still lose to them no matter what experience, confidence or understanding we acquire as we go along.

Looks like we were really poor from the comments I've read.
Any hope of us winning this game was extinguished when Manu insisted on starting the same team that played against Hungary.
Manu Garba messed up big time in this tourney...he should've done much better with the players he had.

What a dumb statement. So you're trying to say a U20 team can overrun a U23 team due to youthfulness or what??
