Now I'm confused, are you saying one cannot present a diff sponsor bank statement for i-20 and interview?

There's no hard and fast rule
Consistency is important though.

You can't have corporate sponsor on i20 and then go with personal acct.
That's a red flag.
But of course family includes uncle, dad, mom etc.
Any will do I think.

FYI. Just got this email from my school's international office

Dear Students and Scholars,

Over the weekend of June 26 – 28, 2015, the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) will be applying updates to its SEVIS database. These updates will interrupt certain government services such as US visa applications; I-901 SEVIS fee payments; driver's license applications; and for those entering the US, expect delays at the port of entry.

$21,700/yr for a masters degree (either mech engineering or not) way is too much.

Do you get any form of funding from the school? If not, you should start working on that before you leave.
no qualms thanks sure

VOs are bent on "hoe do u get funds" I advise people to apply to "big town" school my school na the symbol of the town( Rolla)does not give anyone any thing until u have gone through their own system for a term or 12 months

Na wa for your school. Many schools give funding right from when you're in Nigeria. Once you merit it, you'll get it.

Once again, thanks.

he didnt say, bt i figure maybe it was due to his eloquence, someone on scholarship has to be able to command a sound conversation with the VO which i doubt he could, dude was a Maths guru, but his english is South
