Just stumbled upon this thread. Our Imam make an announcement after Isha'i prayer that Jama'atul Nasrul Islam (JNI) met today in Kaduna and they agreed that today is 28th not 29th. So we should watch out for the moon from tomorrow.

Just a short time ago, Fatwa-Online was
informed of the official decision and
announcement of the High Judiciary
Council of Saudi Arabia that since the
moon of Ramadhaan was not sighted this
evening, here in Saudi Arabia, we shall be
completing thirty (30) days of Sha’baan
(1436 A.H.), in accordance with the
hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah (sal-
Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam):
«Fast when you see the crescent. If it is
obscured to you, then complete thirty days
of Sha’baan. And break your fast when you
see the crescent. If it is obscured to you
then fast thirty days» , [transmitted by al-
Bukhaaree and Muslim].
Subsequently, we shall be starting our
taraaweeh prayers tomorrow (Wednesday
17 June, 2015) after the ‘Ishaa. prayer, in
preparation for the first fast of
Ramadhaan on Thursday 18 June, 2015,
in shaa.-Allaah

I've still not heard any concrete news concerning the sighting of the cresent.....so any confirmed update? has it been seen somewhere? so i can start preparing for sahur...Ramahdan Mubarak jamah!...and 2moro is my so called birthday wat a coincidence..of which am used to sawm.

I have been navigating btw bbc hausa,,,radio Nigeria kaduna,Aljazeera,Alarabia and Twitter page of NIGERIA scholars.still no news of moon sighted.

Even the subhi at this mosque this mng advised we shud not eat or drink anything this mng until the news us clear regards fasting.
