Ilekeh:.......lol we nigerians are the problem I can imagine when godswill akpabio built that magnificent stadium in his state with millions of dollars...... Instead of us to praise him and motivate him, we nigerians bash and insult him saying the stadium was "irrelevant" to the society....... I can remember last year or so.....a 300L undergraduate built a drone to and instead of us to praise and motivate him with cash...... We insult him saying he bought the drone from china.... ......now tell me the truth if we as a country can move forward ?...... When we all believe that corrupt politicians are the reason for our backwardness but forgot so soon We are the ones that put them there...... And praise them anytime they throw peanut at us..........and abuse them whenever they refuse to throw down the peanut..... Or can you remember when YALE university gave okonjo iweala an award.....instead of us to be happy that one of our own is being recognized globally, we prefer writhing a petition to withdraw the award....smh .....If we don't break free from this mentality, sorry to say we will never ever reach such level |

all4naija:Those who claim to be intelligent need to first educate others and invest themselves in formal education of everyone to create a critical mass of intelligent people to confront any barbarian. That was partly how Europe came out of its Dark Age period. Otherwise it will be futile. There is a reason why Martin Luther King did not aspire to be president of the USA but chose to enlarge the possibilities for his fellow African-Americans unlike the Fawehinmis, Soyinkas, Falanas etc in our midst! |

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge (commonly known as the "Bay Bridge" ) is a major dual-span bridge in the U.S . state of Maryland. Spanning the Chesapeake Bay, it connects the state's rural Eastern Shore region with the more urban Western Shore. The original span opened in 1952 and with a length of 4.3 miles (6.9 km), width of 28 ft (8.5 m) (eastbound) and 38 ft (11.6 m) (westbound) was the world's longest continuous over-water steel structure, the parallel span was added in 1973. The bridge is named the "Gov. William Preston Lane, Jr. Memorial Bridge" after William Preston Lane, Jr.who, as Governor of Maryland, initiated its construction in the late 1940s after decades ofpolitical indecision.Interesting that such a bridge can be constructed by a state governor. Here, a Lagos State governor cannot construct 4th mainland bridge because of "federal waters". #RestructureNigeria |

And here in Africa we're still enmeshed in tribalism, nepotism and worthless pride. Imagine a situation whereby all the ethnic groups in a third World jungle like Nigeria is seeking to lord it over others. The sense wey God give us na only to use am loot, do ritual, kidnap, carry drugs and slaughter others naim we sabi. Imagine people like China, India and Brazil wey be our mate before don leave us tey tey and we still get time dey bicker over who get IGR pass for naija. The way forward Is to imitate what China and India did; Send the best brain among us to the developed nations and allow them there for some years to learn extreme engineering like this, recall them at the appropriate time to come and replicate what they have learnt. Otherwise we can all choose to deny the obvious truth and keep running round in circles when the World has gone beyond solving the problems of bad road, power supply and pipe borne water. |

anonimi:I agree there is need for an urgent changes in the education(as in orientation) of Nigerians toward standing to fight for their rights and get organized so that these m o r o n s in their ignorance ruining their father country can be dislodged once and for all and cannot manipulate them any more. We need to get rid of them if not that nation will remain backward. Can you think of a situation where these barbarians keep ruling and fighting to keep hold of the leadership positions? While the blinded populace is praising them and voting them repeatedly without any remorse for the gradual annihilation of their father land in the 21st century. It is time to say no to the corrupt leaders by standing up to their corruption, greed and taking up essential positions of the government. We need to back the intelligent Nigerians to bring about a system where the citizen voices are heard. From there there can be protest to go against anything that would jeopardize the development of the nation. There should be accountability and those who failed to provide sound development from the nation's income should be jailed for a very long time with hard labor and their family well monitored for any wrong doing or suspected wealth. All hands most be on deck to call on these intelligent Nigerians who are not biased, tribal, religious and discouraging to come out and be supported from the center of our hearts. Only with these individuals we can plan to clean our universities infected with cultism, criminality, hate, lies, mismanagement, backwardness, etc. The Nigerian universities as a body is an eco-system that is supposed to stand up to these annoying leaders in their failure to develop the nation. I don't know if many of them even realize their ignorance and stupidity while joining cult to kill their fellow students when they should have been serving the community by standing up to those bad leaders destroying their future. I don't think Nigerians understand what the future entails. Shame on all of you, the Nigerian universities, students, the citizens and the leaders for failing to develop the nation and bring about rule of law. Ptui! |
