Is it that the same nuclear plant mearnt solely for power generation can be used still for war purposes?

Let's get educated pls because ppl kicking against the location of the plants in s south assumed same electricity generating nuclear plant have "war/wipe them out" motives.

I will advise u go to Alaba(if u r in Lagos) negotiate very well.mine is just 2.5kva .but It depends on ur needs,I got angry,cos I pay for my dstv and still buy fuel to watch it...I don't use AC with mine(only wen NEPA comes,which they've really improved)...It will be more expensive and a higher KV if u want to use AC with it.I spent 450k for mine.Gen and NEPA na my back up.

KOGI is very close to river Niger and benue..
If a country wants to end Nigeria all they have to do is cause the nuclear plant to leak in KOGI at least all the states in central Nigeria will be affected.

The two rivers will also be affected...

Akwa-ibom would destroy SS and most of its resources leaving a situation worse than oil spill..

In Lagos, they are building a refinery... If that one spills.. Lagos will bcom polluted..

People are planning Nigeria's DOWNFALL in disguise of INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT.

Who says Buhari is not working? The very first time in decades Nigeria is blessed with a Leader. This is indeed the change we've always dreamed of but never seen until now.

Akwa-Ibom is in the South East of Nigeria, geographically...Politically, it's referred to as being in a contrived entity (without geographical basis) called the South-South. My state, Rivers State is in the same dilemma! Nothing wrong with being called South-East...be educated, mister!

Back to the topic, this is a good development for Nigerian! The key to unlock stable power supply in Nigeria is in Nuclear power.

Even if it is privatized,....that doesn't guarantee 100% efficiency ,take the GSM operators as an example,because of the rain today,av been receiving calls not meant for me from different networks by accident.

Just to enlighten you sir,
Nuclear energy seems to be the best in developed nations as it is durable, long lasting and efficient. The nuclear reactor runs on aan element called "URANIUM" which is very volatile. It involves splitting the uranium in a process known as nuclear fission, the splitting generates heat which are passed into turbines to generate electricity. The best part about uranium is that a fist size of it can generate stable electricity for 10days non stop. So if we are to get an ample sum, then our problem will be partially solved...
There are some risked involved like radiation leakage, collapse of reactor, nuclear dust etc which are very dastardly in effect. I hope we know what we venturing into. Do you know that china has the largest number of nuclear reactors, 90percent of their electricity is from it.

So with all the possible sources of energy(gas,clean coal and solar that we have) which has less impact on lives in a worst case scenario,they chose nuclear.
Why pursue an energy policy that will not make the most of our natural resource.

Frankly, nuclear plants are sited in less dense areas and Northern Nigeria offers that.

South south is a geographical expression. Akwa ibom is in the eastern part of Nigeria. Use a compass instrument for directions please. Stop displaying ignorance in a public forum for the uneducated could be reading to gain knowledge

We have to be very careful with this. Can Nigeria manage the cons of hazmat storage and transportation? Can we ensure such materials don't get to the hands of terrorists. Remember, ISIS has identified with Boko Haram. Why is this happening now? Have we explored other non - hazardous options?

Its not conspiracy theory... Its negative thinking.. Any normal person thinks of the negative effects of a project before starting it.

The north is a desert region why didn't they put it there...

There are better ways to generate electricity than nuclear.

I hope this is not another white elephant project.
