We should also look at the disadvantages of this nuclear power.. It's very dangerous for a state like kogi state with much population.. I don't think this is right

Hmmm...these nuclear things.

Abeg, for safety reasons, none of the plants should be installed anywhere close to any of the Boko Haram-ravaged states.

Nigeria is not poor......if one useless minister can afford a private jet then that should not be an obstacle for it...

Before any nuclear plant is built....an environmental impact assessment is done.

If the EIA report is unfavorable....the construction of the nuclear power plant can be suspended/stopped.

Nuclear war heads are different from Nuclear power plants... it is more like converting a Steel tank into a Steel rifle --- the conversion is not so easy.

Kx:
For those who knows much about this,

Is it that the same nuclear plant mearnt solely for power generation can be used still for war purposes?

Let's get educated pls because ppl kicking against the location of the plants in s south assumed same electricity generating nuclear plant have "war/wipe them out" motives.

Akwa-Ibom State is in the South-South and not South-East. Please take note Op. It was before the 1990s that it was regarded as part of the Eastern Region but the state is currently in the South South together with Cross-River State.

Back to the topic, this is a good development for Nigerian! The key to unlock stable power supply in Nigeria is in Nuclear power.
Thanks for making that clear before some will start calling it Biafraland

So a country as advanced as Japan can have so much problems handling the fukushima nuclear plant when tragedy struck, an underdeveloped entity like nigeria want to try it's hand on nuclear power. God forbid, that'll be after I move out.

There is only one other thing I think of when I hear NUCLEAR...

If things go badly it won't matter which state the plants are located. Nigeria fit turn to Sahara desert.

They don't know how to fund the project that cost around five to eight billion dollars but yet twenty billion dollars got missing...

The only problem I might have with PMB is when people are not probed to return all the stolen money.
