It's like VFS is better than Teleperformance self. Teleperformance service is somehow poor compared to when applicants were using VFS.

As at then, VFS will dispatch the next day to Pretoria and even send u an sms to that effect, Teleperformance will not update you with Bcus they know their lapses, too bad. Just be patient, there is nothing u can do, keep checking your email, it will drop b4 u know it.

Hello Bro,
I need your advise. Tried calling but I guess it's almost midnight there.
my agent said PR will take a very long time and that it is not possible to get PR from Nigeria. He gave several reasons.

I intend to withdraw my application from immigration and begin the PR process. As it stands now all I need for 10 points is ielts grade 7 in all courses.

Can u advise me . I want to know how long the PR takes approximately. Also if withdrawing my application current application will affect my PR process.

I applied for student visa (TAFE) Course on June 11 and I am yet to get a communication from them so I can proceed for medicals.

I really want to follow your advise of PR but I need these clarifications.

Sorry for the long essay.

I wish you were awake so we could talk.

Thanks

You can do ur PR processing from Australia...I keep repeating this to u. Ur PR visa processing time will depend on the time it takes u to get those 7 bands across the board.
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by samuelokwu: 7:29pm On Jun 25, 2015
I will get the ielts 7 in all bands this July. If I can do it from Australia can I start as soon as I get there or must I study for a given time first?
Also assume the ielts is ready, can u estimate how long it might take ?

Please

Pls I need advise on the following questions. I have been reading the part 1 of this thread and the link to the immigration rules and I realised that the finances has been the limitation of most unsuccessful applicants. As for me I need to be clarified on the possibilities of getting a post study visa after an MSC in Australia with a one year course?

1 . will a budget of 7million naira be enough to cover all expenses + living expenses for a one year masters in geology?

2.what are my chances of switching to a work visa after my studies ?
I would gladly appreciate any response that would be crucial to my decision to look else where.

@scrollmeout, it appears our situations are similar concerning IELTS and British coucil. I applied for remarking 9weeks ago and up to this minute, I haven't heard anything from them. funny enough I only applied for a remarking of the speaking component keeping it at the back of my mind that the result will come out in just over a month but.....
The whole experience has been quite educative and I have lost a lost of the respect I had for the British Council in the process. I used to see them as some thorough, precise establishment but I am now better informed. Took the test on the 14th March and this is like 14weeks later, no result. Even NECO will certainly do better than that .

I have written quite a number of emails but all I got was their autoresponder, wrote to one georgian okpara who I believe to be Brit Council staff, she replied 2 days later that my email has been forwarded to the IELTS staff etc, no further response from her or the ever elusive IELTS staff who I presume are too busy collaring the mixed multitude of ill informed marks out there.

I wasn't planning on coming here to vent but I suspect i'm already doing just that, but scrollmeout and other members of this efamily, I'l simply state it as I see it: Don't take the IELTS if you can avoid it. Take PTE, take anything else that will serve the same purpose. I wish I have seen a write up like this earlier, I might have been saved from this rubbish.

I do not have issues with the content of the test as it appears fair enough to me but on account of the reasons stated below, I'd suggest you stay clear of IELTS whenever possible or at least look objectively at the other options before making a choice:

1. IELTS is very subjective, the speaking component that is. but then this is my opinion and there are bound to be equally valid counter arguements
2. The English testing business is just that, a big business and IELTS's market position is so dominant that it is almost a monopoly. As such it can afford to delay your result for as long as it likes (I got my initial TRF after 4weeks of waiting), PTE gives you your result in 5 working day max.
3. IELTS as a business are untidy, very untidy. I tried for months to speak with a human being on the phone but it was simply impossible. Most of the publicly available nos were switched off or otherwise non functional. What responsible business does that? You took my money and I took the test. Fine so far. Then I need my results but it took a month and there is nobody to give me an answer on the phone. Most Nigerian online businesses provide far better customer service than this
4. The results are not available online contrary to the claims made on their website and during the course of the test. They even gave me a link where I was supposed to input my data and get a peek at my results but nothing came up, tried like 2 dozen times, nothing. This is 2015, not the year 1520. WAEC, NECO, JAMB, PTE, TOEFL, the auto sparepart dealers in Ikoku and just about everybody's online except IELTS results. What a shame.

I have made up my mind to take the PTE next month as i'm currently tied up with some othe issues now. All opinions expressed here are solely mine and subjective as it may seem, it is based entirely on my not so pleasant experience with the British Council/IELTS set up.

Well Stated, IELTS has rubbished a lot of ppl including me. Take PTE and you won't regret it, they treat Nigerians unfairly, our English Language capacity is far better than most Countries, but they kept failing us in an unfair manner and using it as a Pawn to generate revenue.

You will do extremely well taking PTE and u will pass with flying colours, a lot of testimonies about PTE on this thred.

Only one year of study in Australia does not meet Australian study requirement hence you won't be eligible for Post study visa. You need minimum of 2 academic years study to be eligible for that. You also need to think ahead. Eventhough you get post study visa after meeting Australian study requirement, what would happen next? What are the chances of getting jobs in your field which could make you qualify for assessment which is one of the ways to the PR? First advice is to look for a uni that would pffer you a 2 year program.... That's how you can proceed to the graduate visa. Another option is to apply for another program after your masters.

Try curtin uni, I think newcastle, uwa, unsw...etc, depending on what option you wNt.

In m opinion, 7 m should be good to start with, but prepare to work when you arrive Au.

Best of luck

Which agent said getting PR from Naija is not possible? That's a big lie! Do you know how many people on this thread travelled as PRs? He should just tell you he cant do it.

What were the reasons he gave?

Either the agent doesn't know what he was saying or was only interested in collecting the agency fee for the student application package. If the Op decides to drop his application, it is less money for the agent.

Either way, he is only screwing the guy.

Thanks for the response. I think I'll look else where. Most of the courses are 30k annually or 4.6million naira . That's half more than half of my
budget. Then how much do I budget for accommodation + feeding annually?? The remaining 3million naira?? And are you giving me the hope that I can work to meet up with the expenses of the 2Nd year or I request for additional funds after the first year?

I'm looking at Flinder university MSC hydrology.I would be grateful if you judge me if I'm not up to the task

You can get a decent student accommodation for between $100 - $150/week including utilities. Food is not expensive and you can get concession on transportation with your student ID.

Is it only Flinders that offers hydrology?

Yes.. I only picked the course because it was the cheapest option in geosciences/ environmental area. The fear I have is that my tuition is more than my budget. That's 60k for 2 years or 8 million thereabout and no guaranteed of post study like the UK .can you recommend any other option?
