Takamba:Well dear, in general the Fulani dialect in Nigeria sounds like that :-D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VECQ36nJ00s |

Fulaman198:Seyno allah Mougn is the title of the movie... What does mougn means? Are these people bororo? Nice language though, I like the music at the beginning |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 2:06am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:Wade crossed the line on that one. |

Fulaman198:Any Tukulor living outside of Senegal identifies as Pullo or Pullo Torodo. And today in Senegal, there are all described a Pullo by the administration. There is no separation. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 2:25am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:Demba Ba is Pullo. He even said that his parents forbid him from speaking any other language at home but Pulaar. You can look it up. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 2:28am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:Actually Futa Toro fulbe are very proud of their language. Anytime I would speak french to them in Senegal they would reply in Pulaar. No latter than two days ago I met one at the Masjid. They usually understand Guinean Pular easier than we understand them. It only takes a few weeks to get used to their accent. The words and structure of the language is the same, the prononciation is what changes. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 2:31am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:True which is why Maninka still call them Fula even though they have lost the language. They did retain the culture and the cattle. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 2:32am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:Exterminated ? They lost the language due to living among Maninka and marrying there. They did build an empire there and many of them were warriors in Samory's conquest. |

kaura5000:Captives not slaves. A slave is a man that accept his condition. |

If you say the Berbers look Semitic I'm inclined to agree with you because they are arabs, basically. Agains the fulanis do not look Semitic, they have their own unique look, a fulani man if he were pale would not look like a Semite.Berbers are NOT Arabs. It would be very insulting to say so. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 2:52am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Lol! Berbers are basically ARAbS mate, good examples are Karin benzema and Zinedine Zidane, can you differentiate them from ARAbS? But they're Berbers. Africa is indeed diverse, indeed the site of creation. There are no tribes in West Africa. You have ethnic groups. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 3:10am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:Read the Monenembo passage on it. I forgot the page. They used to be "a la merci" of Bambara ''famas''. Read also Segou of Maryse Conde. The Wassoulou empire is pretty recent, way after their installation there and didn't last long. It is because of Malinke assimilation that they have lost their language. A lot of warrors then fought for whoever could pay. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 3:10am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:They have intermixed a lot too. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 3:16am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:They are fulas, but mixed fulas who adopted Mandinka language. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 3:19am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:Some senegalese and mauritanians Fulanis told me that they couldn't understand easily guinean fulani, but guinean fulani understood their pulaar. I also think that guinean fulanis understand pretty quickly pulaar. Guess it works both ways... |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 3:19am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:You already know... ![]() |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 3:21am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:I like your definition. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 4:37am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:Takamba( what does the name mean, I like it). Sister, how do Senegalese feel about Guinea Fulbe? Unlike other foreigners, we are not called "Gnak" but is there any form of resentment? |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 4:55am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:Takamba is a traditional songhai and tamachek music from north mali. The name just crossed my mind, plus I like the music ![]() No guineans are not called niak, but I've heard other names. Overall I cannot speak for everyone, but there are mitigated feelings about them. Senegalese appreciate guineans because they are hard working (they don't beg), unlike other nationalities. |

I really admire the sense of brotherhood you fulbe have, I admire how you seek to connect with as many of your people as possible, regardless of borders. Lol! For me, the hausas living outside Nigeria, I can honestly say I don't really care about them, though I admit it'd be interesting to meet one. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 5:18am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:Other names such as? |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 5:31am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:I prone peace, I don't think it is fair to cite derogatory names. Let's just say the good impressions Senegalese have on Guineans. There sure are problems but problems exist everywhere. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 5:33am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:Alright. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 5:35am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Fulaman198:I'm not in Senegal right now, but you never know. ![]() |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 5:41am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:I have heard dare Fulaman tell Tukulor they are not fulbe lol, it would not end well in my opinion. Tukulors are very proud people. Fulbe in general are proud, sometimes TOO proud. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 5:41am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:His mum is a Sarakhole from Koussanar in Tambacounda, only the dad is Haal Pulaar |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 5:45am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:Lol I understand, he is not from the area. If he repeats the stuff about bloodline in front of an old Torodo! Toucouleurs are crazy! Did you see how that guy's family called journalists from Le monde to avenge the insuld made to them. They were publicly saying that they had slaves in all the Fouta. Walay these people still live in the middle ages. Do you know they were one of the reasons of the birth of Mauritania as a country? |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Omarbah: 5:45am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Takamba:Sure but still his culture is that of fulbe. |
| Re: Africa Americans Of Fulani Descent by Takamba: 5:47am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Omarbah:Yes he looks like he is close to the Pullo side, but he is a true soninke too. Proud people |
