I pity you and your Ifeanyi UBA. People going into politics these days to make money. Obiano is good enough though I didn't support him during elections. He has proved his mettle and can still do a lot in the remaining 3 years.
The same reason I said that the boy is just commenting because he saw others commenting not that he has any reasonable thing to comment about. Please my people ignore and skip him and his posts. cheesy

Anyone who knows the Governor should give him this idea.

He should look into doing some fresh Street roads so that Anambra doesn't look like a concrete jungle. There are too many earth roads. Enugu state government under Chime did a lot of this. (I know Rome wasn't built in a day but our Governor should keep this idea in mind)

They should also vigorously pursue greening the environment with trees and grasses and completely prohibit pasting of posters which defaces the environment.
They should impose heavy fines on anyone whose poster is found anywhere (This only requires political will) . This will make the environment saner and more beautiful. If you construct the most beautiful flyover in the world and they deface it with posters, you've lost it. Anyone who wants to advertise anything should go for billboards or distribute handbills. Thats how its done in the UK and even in Calabar and thats why that city looks like Europe. Lagos too started putting up signs warning against defacing environment with posters but a penalty of heavy fine will keep prospective offenders at bay.
Again there are too many signboards littering Anambra environment thereby making it unsightly. A law should be made that all signboards should be of the same template and stuck to the walls of the business building in an orderly manner. This when implemented will give us a neat pleasant aesthetic Anambra. Besides those signboards obscure road signs which is dangerous and bad for motorists.

A friend from Cross River told me that their government spends over 60 million monthly paying sweepers and contractors handling refuse evacuation from streets. He said that Donald Duke used to visit neighbourhoods unannounced and would promptly revoked any environmental contract found wanting. No wonder their environment looks so clean. Anambra needs to borrow a leaf.

Some of these things are the things Donald Duke did to make Calabar a beautiful city whilst I picked some living in London.
Most of these things won't cost money, just political will but they will make our state beautiful. We are already moving into a league of our own by having the best road network in the country. We should take it a notch higher by being the most organised, most beautiful, and most liveable.
Let's just leave the rest of Nigeria behind. Anambra ga adi mma!

Anambra will continue to pay salaries - Obiano
Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has assured civil servants in the state that his administration will continue to pay salaries of civil servants in the state.
While speaking at a 2-day retreat organised by the Anambra State Economic Think Thank (ANETT) in Awka, Governor Obiano said that but for the simple model of financial management adopted by his administration early on, Anambra state would have been amongst the states in Nigeria owing their workers arrears in salaries.
"Our focus is to increase efficiency In the system, block revenue leakages and reduce waste.
"We have also been able to increase our IGR from 500 Million Naira to over a billion Naira.
"Our first line charges remain salaries, pensions and gratuities.
"We have not defaulted on any of our ongoing projects.
"I'm assuring Ndi Anambra that I'm committed to continuing, completing and commissioning projects started both by my predecessor and my administration"

The Commissioner for Agriculture in Anambra state Hon. Afam Mbanefo has said that the investments so far made in the agricultural sector in Anambra state by both the state government and investors including Ekcel Farms, Delfarms, Joseph Agro, Lynden, Novtec and Cosched Farms will not only lead to the state attaining food sufficiency but will also lead to improved IGR in the state.

Hon. Mbanefo was speaking in Awka on Friday, July 26, 2015 at a 2-day retreat organised by the Anambra state Economic Think Tank (ANETT) for members of the Anambra state Exco, Heads of MDAs, Chairman of local government authorities and members of the state assembly.

According to him, the MOU signed between the state government and the various investors are at various stages of implementation. He disclosed that the state government is encouraged by the heavy interest shown so far by investors in the Agricultural sector.

He said that the state government is finalising plans that will lead to the support of smallholder fish farmers, this will include giving them access to funds through the Anambra State Small Business Agency (ASBA) in addition to other government funding interventions.

You need psychiatric evaluation. Stop beating the drums of war as it does nobody no good. Think rather of how to live in peace with other Nigerians whilst we do our thing in making the entire Ani Igbo stand out from the rest of Nigeria. Biafra war is over and we're are already ahead of others in development, mostly from self-effort and recently with the help of responsible state governments. Therefore we should prove our competitiveness through development not fighting. Germany arose from the ashes of World War 2 to become the most advanced and richest country in Europe and is today leading the European Union as big Brother. A feat Hitler foolishly thought he could get through fighting, they got through hardwork and enterprise. Many Igbos have the erroneous impression that Ojukwu just wanted us to just have Biafra but no, Biafra was a child of necessity because of the killings. It was a last resort. He did so reluctantly. We're better off in Nigeria and proving to those envious of us that we are in a league of our own. I wish other Igbo States will wake up and catch the new drift taking place in Anambra and Enugu. All what Igbos need is to have selfless politicians, and we'll propell our own development. We have never depended on Federal.

The city cab is gradually circulating around our major cities and with time it will be sufficient enough to cover all routes. There is already BRT long buses plying major routes around the state. Anambra is good for it.

Exactly.....Obiano is on the right track and provides the type of ideas and governance needed in the SE. KANU is the opposite. In fact people
Like Obiano make people like KANU irrelevant. Instead of him to use his organisation as a way to build Igboland up as a platform for states to have access to diasporan's with needed skills and experience he wants war instead. He is actually an enemy of the Igbo's IMO.

^^^Listen! I have no qualms with us staying in Nigeria.....but what pisses me off with some of you 'one Nigeria' champions is that you don't go further to demand for equality and justice! All one is asking for -which the owners of Nigeria and their southern allies are frustrating- is resource control, devolution of powers from the center to the regions/states, and fiscal federalism! We need to be able to chart a course for our own destiny and economic development without having jealous, conniving, hateful bastards frustrate our efforts behind the scenes! Even now as we speak they're plotting on how to render AIIA Enugu useless!

You need to wake up and smell the coffee! You are sharing the same country with a wicked set of people who will smile in your face and call you 'fellow Nigerian', but stab you in the back at the earliest opportunity! It's being naive, turning the other cheek, and ignoring these glaring facts that have led to millions of us being killed and Alaigbo being marginalized, balkanised and cheated!

Excellent point you made but hope you were not comparing our hero Ojukwu with Hitler. Ojukwu fought to "defend" us against islamic agressors and preserve our good values (hitler was an agressor, ojukwu wasnt). Ojukwu was intelligent, very calculated, and empathetic. Hitler lacked these great qualities
Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by Igbonazy: 12:57pm On Jun 27, 2015
Ojukwu Quotes...

"Since,in the thinking of many white powers,a good, progressive and efficient government is good only for whites, our view was considered dangerous and pernicious: a point of view which explains but does not justify the blind support which these powers have given to uphold the Nigerian ideal of a corrupt, decadent and putrefying society. To them genocide is an appropriate answer to any group of black people who have the temerity to attempt to evolve their own social system"
OJUKWU

"In the air,the Biafran Air Force has made a most dramatic re-entry into the war, and in a brilliant series of raids has all but paralyzed the Nigerian Air Force. In four days, operations, eleven operational planes of the enemy were put out of action, three control towers in Port Harcourt,Enugu and Benin were set ablaze, the Airport building in Enugu, and the numerous gun positions were knocked out."~
OJUKWU

"The brillance of this performance, the precision of the strke, the genius of target selection, have left Nigeria in a daze and her foreign friends bewildered"~
OJUKWU
