Let's be progressive in our thinking as Nigerian youths. How many cars long does the presidential convoy need to be? A maximum of 7-10 hi tech vehicles is just enough. Driving from Aso rock to Kaduna at a maximum of 120km/hr wud require 2hrs,kaduna to daura another 3hrs. What's a 5hr road trip to a president who needs to be in touch with the people, and who needs to give governance a human face considering what we experienced under PDP forc16yrs?
APC and Buhari have lost it, if in a whole month his govt hasn't wowed us, I don't see them doing it in 4yrs

Buhari's solicitor general, how often does he need to go to Daura? If the cost of construction of the helipad is 2 million Naira, can't that money be put to more meaningful use since we all agree that the country is broke? The love you have for Buhari should not becloud your sense of reasoning. When a construction company built a church in Otuoke, people like you came here to call GEJ a thief even when it was glaring that he did not use his money or Nigeria's money to build the church. Now someone is going to use our money to build an unnecessary helipad that will not benefit the nation after his tenure and you are here saying it will cost only 2 million Naira.

Rawani:
Building a helipad which will allow the President fly to Daura directly from the villa will be a cheaper option than using the Eagle One Presidential jet to first fly to Katsina and then moving the entire convoy by road to Daura, a trip that is repeated for his return as well.

Let's keep in mind that the soil in Otueke is loamy so a helipad is not necessary for safe landing, in contrast to the sandy Daura soil which would raise dust when landing that could dangerously block the pilots visibility. The construction cost of a helipad is about N2 million.

This is a 'clueful' decision which is highly efficient, especially as it significantly reduces the cost of governance.

dis ur post dey confuse me sha..cos if defies common logic.. Why would a president spend 5hrs on d road??even me wey no b anybody can't spend that much time on d road(with d level i hav gotten to by God's grace),when i have d option of taking a flight..Time is precious for me,and it should be more precious for a president..PMB travelling by road does not in any way translate to good method of governance..policies formulation and implementation is what brigns about the translation into good governance...If one or 2 months is enough time to evaluate PMB,then i am scared, considering the fact that PDP ruled dis country for 16 good years with nothing to show for it..

we need a crash course on cost and time management..even if it's just for four years, money and time would hav b saved flying directly to daura with an helicopter than flying a Jet to katsina den going by road to daura.(daura is his home town for goodness sake..) let's not give a bad name to a dog just for d sake of hanging it..

we are talking about a helicopter here not an airplane. Helicopter doesn't land like Airplane that needs a runway to land or take off. Going by soil, you forgot that Niger Delta is swampy, what if the tires of the helicopter got stuck in the "loamy soil"?

Then that would be disastrous and the world will be awash with news of a President that failed to do a common soil analysis before landing his Presidential aircraft on it. Of course the soil can support the weight, if not do you think the Airforce will attempt to land there? Come on.

Helicopters are not that heavy to require a soil analysis before landing. Don't mistake a Helicopter with an Airplane. An open field without any obstruction is enough. What becomes of the helipad after his tenure? This is a misplaced priority even if its been constructed with #1.

just buy a brain cos u dnt have good one on u. Some sorts of concrete and pilot lamps he refused to build b4 he became president. I thought he claimed GEJ left empty treasury. Dnt worry, Daura President will receive worst lashing of e-insults more than what GEJ received but I pray he shouldn't die on that seat.

The unsafe nature of a tarred road due to the risk of flying debris, the lack of a windsock which tells the pilot the direction of the wind, and lack of security for the personality of a President makes that option untenable.
