Simple, whatever question you are asked requires a truthful response. So, never try to lie or cover up anything during the interview. Say it as it was, is and would be. Chloe/LadyG/Justwise please help out here.

Hey guys... I just wanna say a big thank you to all those that contributed to my success. I'm the ukraine student that wanted to apply for a USA tourist visa. My interview was yesterday and it was amazing... I was pretty scared to be honest. They kept on denying applicants. The consular was really friendly with me. Afterall prayer works.
VO: (She had started smiling at me from afar)
ME: (I was wondering if something was on me that made her smile that much at me) I smiled with a smirk and with a cool childish voice. I said "hellooo"... I actually used a British accent to say that word.. Lol.

VO: Hello... How are you?
ME: I'm fine.
VO: where are you going to in the states?
ME: New York.
VO: What for?
ME: Tourism
VO: why New York?

ME: this was the moment I flopped.. But God's grace is always sufficient. His favour really stood by me
I said "New York is the most popular place in the US & Besides, that's one of the most interesting place to tourists.

VO: she smiled so hard and said Ok. What do you do?
ME: I'm a medical student.
VO: when are you going to be done.
ME: I said twenty-sixteen (2016)
VO: who is your sponsor?
ME: my father
VO: what's does he do?
ME: I said he works with bleep bleep and he is the bleep bleep

VO: she nodded her head in approval.. I could feel the success from where I stood shaking like a leaf.. Then she opens my passport.. Oh!.. Where have you been to?

ME: I was shocked because I thought she was supposed to know that in my visa application. Anyway i listed all the 5 countries I've been to.

VO: she nodded again. She didn't even ask me for what. She didn't even bother to check any documents. OK. She hands me a white paper and said. Please kindly pick up your passport next Thursday. Have a good day..

ME: Victory! Victory! Victory! I kept on shouting that In my mind... I said thank you. Picked up my documents and left.

To be candid with you, my answers were not that perfect.. My voice was shaking.. My hands.. And so on.. The way she kept on smiling at me made me comfortable... It was just God.. Maybe it was because of the way I dressed that made her smile. I don't know. But there's something I very sure about. It was just God.

During interview, please stand firm. You could place your two hands on the platform which is on the cubicle to ease your mind of fright. Do not say unnecessary things. Be straightforward n plain. Don't give stories.. Or compliment any of them(I love your hair). The best you can say is "Thank you". They do not care. They are just doing their job. Someone did that shii and was denied. She didn't even smile at the compliment. She acted as if she didn't hear that... When the applicant left. She started laughing. And if during the interview you flop in one or two questions.. Don't place ur hands on your head or sigh deeply or make funny exclamations. Just stay put and smile. If you can't smile then bone up. Don't be dramatic abeg. Just have faith.

I had a successful interview at the Abuja embassy. I will suggest that if you want to apply, pray to God for Favour and be of your best behavior, do not panic. I didn't go with any fraudulent documents even there was an applicant that asked me at first why were my documents so scantly and I started to think of myself if I should return home cos he spoke as if no hope for me. I went with invitation letter, waec results, university results and my NIN papers, no bank statements, am not married, with all he said I was shaking already. After all I made up my mind not to fumble. When it was my turn for interview, I was asked questions but to God be the glory, I passed and I was granted the visa.

Thanks I contacted them and they said the update has been don and I should re login and view was that the message you got? After that whAt next?

Please call them. They will ask you to send a mail with the new ds160 number and your passport page. This is so they can change the ds160 nunber on your profile and then you can print a new appointment confirmation. You're not allowed to change it yourself

Please do this by Monday. It takes about 2 or 3days.

Don't do 'no show'. I don't even know how that makes sense. You'll now start looking for a new interview date.

I did the above and it worked just fine for me. They sent me another email when it had been changed and I printed a new appointment confirmation . All that changed was the ds160 number which they had corrected to the new one .

I have a Yankee friend based in the US who is married to a Nigerian wife. He wants to invite her for a visit.....please advice as to what she needs to do.
Thank you

Her chances are slim. He should file for her instead. They will ask about her husband and if known he is based there they might consider her going to settle down. If he is legal over there he should file for her. It's easy.

Hello VO, Hello House
Is it possible to travel to the US and return after 2 weeks but its not in record that you actually traveled and returned after 2 weeks in the US the reason why am saying this is on my way back there was no stamp out of the US other than the stamp that was stamped on my passport at the airport in Nigeria the day i returned.

Us don't stamp passport out just like they don't stamp when you are refused. All record is on their system. You submitted the white card given at the point of entry.

I want to attend my sister's wedding in the US (she's a PR there) with 3 of my siblings, 3 of us have virgin passports, out of which 2 are still undergraduates while one is serving. My other sibling works and has a fair travelling history. My Dad is sponsoring the trips, accommodation etc. My questions are, Are our chances better going individually or as a family? What are the benefits of a family appointment, does it mean we get to go to the embassy the same day and go together to meet the V.O? Also want to know if it's okay for my dad to be the sponsor of my sibling that works?
I hope your sister is legal there. You can all apply as a family. You all will attend the interview same day and might be interviews individually. I know of a family of 7 that went for an interview and they were all given. They were going for a birthday. They cherish family reunion.

There is no page for everyday activities as a tourist on the form likewise the income of the sponsor respectively... So you haven't fill in Rubbish *smiles*

Since you havent book the appointment yet, there's no cause for alarm, just log in to the scheduling page and click New Application / Schedule Appointment instead of you clicking Update Profile which is obviously give you the glitch.. After clicking the New Application / Schedule Appointment it will take you to step one for you to choose the visa type, then step two to select your appointment location, then step three and four to select your visa category, and then step five for you to enter all your personal details, so in the page you can change the previous DS-160 with the New DS-160, then proceed to the next step which will take you to your Son details, since his own details are correct just continue to the next step till you will be asked for receipt No for you to book your appointment!

Cheers!

I don't really understand no 1 but if you've scheduled an appointment already, you can still be able to update your profile with the authentic confirmation no.
no. 2. every day activities? lol. they don't ask that question it's rather asked differently. is your hubby self employed cuz I have noticed they don't ask income for people self employed -- i may be wrong though. nothing to be afraid of, ds 160 application form varies

@muzybow and @coloured, God bless you beyond your expectations. I have corrected it.

Pls when filling the ds form, there are two places I ticked I don't know such as status(may he's a citizen, legal immigrant etc) and name of organisation brother works. Pls op this won't affect our chances of getting the visa approved. Because I felt it should since it isn't compulsory on the page.

Have u already tied the DS160 to your profile? If no, u no get wahala. Attach the correct one to the DS160. If you have already tied it, call the embassy/ send email and they l sort u out.
The form differs for males and females. The one for guys is more detailed
For the person who asked about stamping out, your passport / boarding pass was scanned at the point of departure by the airline. Have u ever checked in at the airport at the checking machines by inserting your pasasport into the ATM like machines? Shows your details/info is intertwined so fear not. Its in the system say nwa afo naija has gone back to his motherland cheesy
