When Ibo brothers talk on various fora online without recourse I always wonder.
You keep screaming Biafra always and I wonder how many people of the whole scattered across Nigeria will come back home and still do well in business.
Someone boastfully told me Ibos are more than 40% of Lagos voters and the Lagos political dynamics have changed. We still remember the famous lagoon story.
Ladipo has surfaced and the question now is who owns the land? We all know the Yorubas do and traders must have to follow what Mushin LGA and the family says. If you are not comfortable with it just bounce.

It is not good to be too loud and foul mouthed when you are in another man's land.
This will also take the shape of Tejuosho or even worse.

I concur!

Their loquacious attitude doesn't win them any friends. Why they fail to see this is what puzzles me.

Let's leave all sentiments aside. The issue is very simple, did the government give them enough time before eviction? Was the notice documented? If the answer is yes then there's no case. Tejuosho and other markets have been demolished and this one will not be different. This is not about Yorubaland or Igbo business this is about the filthy and unsafe environment called Ladipo market.

No one criticize them. They are just making them to understand the futility of their action, in the face of modern day reality.

its a sacrifice they has to bear for better and conducive environment devoid of present barbaric state of the environment, though the timing and emergency of government over it,seems like victimization.

Sentiments apart, I think the market need a redevelopment. And I think the Igbo traders should have had leaders to represent them to dialogue with both Mushin and Lagos state government instead of crying wolf. Better still, if the condition giving to them to re-occupy the place is too high for them, they could re-locate to a more spacious places like Shagamu or Ogere, and this will even allow the market to spread to outside Lagos instead of been choke up in the Lagos metropolis. My opinion though, because I think Ladipo had even became too small in size for the kind of business operation going there.
